The McDonald's All-American game is overrated anyway. Harrison is making millions and Brewer is starting on a major D-1 team.

Anybody that does any research and knows anything about basketball will realize that Pearl is a great hire. He is an amazing coach. He did ALOT of things Peterson did not do. To compare them is ridiculous. Peterson made the NCAA tourney once (lost in the first round) and won the NIT. Pearl has coached for 15 seasons, 14 of them were 20+ win seasons. He won a national championship (and lost in championship on year) in division II. He made the Sweet 16. And, for you to say UTK mens basketball will be at the bottom of the SEC for years to come you must not know much about the players UTK has a good chance of getting. And, I believe Pearl can get them. Lofton was thinking about transfering and as soon as he talked to Pearl he immediately said he was staying. Next season UTK's roster could include the following players. And, if it does then they be at the top of the SEC, not the bottom.

Yes Kemp and Chism are juniors and they wont be here next year and more than likely willie will be at UK not UT. chism's name is Wayne not willie, and i maybe wrong but i also thouht pierre niles was also a jr.

She has been offered many times before. WHy take a step backward's ,Mens ball stinks compared to women's ,The Womens game is pure b-ball. The men's is boring "look at me" ball . Not just UT, in all of B-Ball. Look how low rated last years Mens final four was and how highly TV rated the womens was.Same for the NBA,The TV ratings stink and not many people follow it.
As far as Memphis State Basketball, They are ok, But to hear allot of people on here talk,They have all this talent and a lifetime program just a touch over .600 .
They cant crow about anything except being mediocre,same as UT mens.

Top recruits or so I have heard from the 06 class.
1. Cait McMahan (Heritage)-- signed with UTK Lady Vols--- enuf said!!!! Already scored 2000 plus points. By far the number one player in the state. AAA Miss Basketball finalist. Would have won it in any other classification but was behind Clark. Small but can shoot, dish and play D
2. Brandi Brown(York)--possibly Clemson, Vanderbilt, or several other D1 schools. Miss BBall finalist. Averaged over 30 points a game during tournaments. Can post or pull out for the jumpshot.
3. Latoya Bellamy(Westview) Could possibly go to Florida with others from W. TN
Memphis should be getting a commitment from her. Miss BB finalist. Strong inside presence.
4. Bianca Thomas---(Chester County) Miss Basketball, could be looking at Major D1 before the summer is over. Perhaps, a Memphis, Western KY or Mississppi school. Had an awesome state tournament. Opened some eyes to colleges. Will score 2000 before Christmas next year.
5. Paige McFarlin (Mt. Juliet) Xavier and Evansville taking serious looks at her. Looked like a million dollars in state. Set a tournament record.
6. KeKe Stewert (Oak Ridge)---may be a Lady Vol, who knows? If she has a good summer, she could take her pick. May be one of the all time greats from OR. The only thing OR had this year. BIg, athletic, strong and can score. Coaches like her attitude. Looking for her to make a decision after the summer.
7. Jackie Pickel---(Bradley Central) Clemson, UTC or Maryland bound? Possibly Vanderbilt or Tech? Again, the summer will decide. Should be Another 2000 point club member next season. Most athletic on list which adds to the interest of colleges.
8. Jana Cross (Loretto)---Another possibility for Vanderbilt? MTSU? Austin Peay? I think Belmont would be a great choice for her. Yet another member of the 2000 club next season. Had a disappointing year this year.
9. Anne Marie Lanning---(Riverdale)--- Is she 06 or 07? Look for her to sign with MTSU... Just a prediction.... Got better as the year went on. Playing out of position on high school team.
10. Alison Butler---(Walker Valley)--- Had a great first game in state. UTC? Western Carolina? Belmont? Or possibly a newcomer since then. 5'9 left handed point guard!
11. Casha Foster--- Cumberland County-- short, but quick. Tennessee Tech or Carson Newman???? Led team to substate and district championship...
I know I have left out somebody on here. I'm sorry. These are the main girls I have heard about, watched and read about. Most of these girls have already had offers to D1 schools but are waiting until after the summer to decide.

Cait hasn't signed with UT, but more and likely will. Paige McFarlin is definitely not a top 5 senior in state for next year. Keke Stewart is DEFINITELY not going to be a Lady Vol no matter what kind of year she has. Jana Cross had a disappointing year? They girl averaged a doulbe double almost 20 and 10 a game. Annie Marie Lanning is going to be a junior and she is a pure scorer from any were on the court. You have one thing right the pickel girl is the most athletic.

I personally thought chism mad some huge mistakes late in the game that kept RE in it. but he did have a pretty good game and was ripped on some calls

Looks like it is gonna be tougher to get Knight out of TTU now he has a heck of a shot to get into the Elite 8 after the upset of Wake Forest. I guess they can start talking to UAB'S coach now since they got put out tonight

You must have seen a different team than i have. i know for a fact kate mcmahon dont play on the same team as lawson. And unless the pickel girl has changed teams since last summer she dont play with them either.

It doesn't matter who finishes were in the district come region time next year and i hate to say it no one in the NEW 11AA has a shot against the teams from the region. Good luck to all the teams though

Yeah they can always say that....but what would they have to show for it? Their season ended earlier than they wanted it to....so why would they brag about beating MJ and not have gotten anywhere?
Kellie and Kellie...you guys had so much leadership for your team this year...I commend you on that....I wish you luck in the next four years and hope you kick butt in golf and in basketball. God Bless.

Word is bobby knight dont like his situation down at tech b/c the fans dont show up and support his team. He likes the gym to be filled like it was in his Indiana days. So bobby if u are on coacht i will be in the stands every single home game at UT if u decide to head to rocky top! I live up in the ville and haven't heard the news on Bobby Knight if this happened it would definitely shape up the program and head it in the right direction. Knight is one HECK of a coach!
