Find out more about what happened last night and you'll see why it made since what I said. I was right all the way around why you rest your starters on the game last night. That's all I'll say about that. You'll hear sooner or later.
Did someone get hurt?
-
It is definitely unethical. It usually comes back to bite the team that does it. The MO is not a contender in either quad. It could benefit SC if they do lose. It would be much better to go there than to the U or ND...or Polk
OK, I got that you don't like it, but how does that make it unethical?
-
a coach playing to lose to get into what he thinks is an easier quad.
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't do this, however, if the goal is to go farther in the playoffs, I don't see it as unethical. I think lots of teams would sit their starters in week 10 if they could, to gear up for a playoff run...
-
Actually they were. They would have benefitted from a loss in week 10. "Setting" your starters...as you put it ...would be unethical. Of course...I think you will. Get ready for the heat that will ensue.
I have no idea of this particular situation, but exactly what part of this would be "unethical"?

Thanks Mr. 17 post guy..
Good insult.... That hurts

It's too early to scout teams for the playoffs until after week 8 anyway. Look at how many changes there's been from week 5 to week 8. Don't get me wrong...it's fine if you want to do it. The tssaa puts out their standings then. It's fine to discuss the possibilities. It's just not prudent to take much stock in them.
OK great we have your opinion, now go away so we can continue to discuss the topic...

Getting off the bus CPA is outmanned in terms of athleticism just about every week. They have great coaches, great schemes, and have practiced and worked harder in the weight room than 99% of the programs out there. That is what makes them pretty good. They do have a couple of future college players this year that are pretty good but overall they ate balanced on offense and very disciplined on defense. Not a 1 or 2 man team.
I'm not buying CPA being outmanned in athleticism....

Is there any scenario where an interior lineman can lift his hand before the ball is snapped after placing it on the ground.
-
I assume if East Nash and LA both win out to week 10, then the winner of that game will get the 2 seed in Quad 3? Where will the loser of that game drop to?
-
The point is.... there is no point... They got beat... if it hadn't been by a private school, it would have been another excuse. Really lame to take away from a team's success because they happened to beat you.
-
I think it will be difficult for Maplewood to beat DL with so many starters hurt.
-
I have seen both teams play more than once, and while that doesn't make me an expert, I at least feel qualified to say that Giles is a better team. I believe that they will be able to make several more mistakes than Lipscomb and still win. I won't rule Lipscomb out completely, but they will have to really outcoach Giles County to give the mustangs a chance. It is hard for me to pick a score in this one, but I think that Giles has to be a pretty heavy favorite.
-
An outsiders viewpoint:
The Lipscomb faithful continue to fall back on how good their coaching is (and it is) and their schemes. Well, MBA doesn't exactly run bad schemes and their coaching isn't too shabby either...and Maplewood played them even and from what I am gathering, lost because they play several players both ways and tired. Maplewood also beat up a team (Hillsboro) that hasn't been bad in a while.
Also, scoring those points on an MBA team is impressive......and I find it hard to believe the talent level and the schemes are any better at DL as they are at MBA. So Maplewood, imo, should score some points.
Now Lipscomb is always ready to play and I can't say the same for Maplewood....But if Maplewood shows up ready, then DL better find an avenue to score 30, because I believe they will need every point.
I agree except hillsboro is obviously not what they have been. Maplewood is very good. Lipscomb will have to win this game on defense.

im predicting a maplewood blow out, lipscumb people have fail to realize they arent playing in 2A anymore.
And they thought they had been for the last 3 years when they were playing for state championships every year in 3A?
-
I think Maplewood will move the ball because they have far superior players. It doesn't mean they'll win, but they will move the ball
-
What exactly makes lipscomb's fronts tough to figure? If I am not mistaken it is A front, not fronts. 4 down lineman, 3 linebackers, what is so hard about that to figure out?
-
Lipscomb is way too well coached and their kids do everything right and this combo will never see a game in which they are going to be "blown away" by another team because as long as they are what they are they'll always be competitive.
Maplewood wins by 2 TD's
And were you right last week?
-
I predict a blowout for Maplewood, or maybe Lipscomb, or possibly a close game maybe even overtime.
-
Game prediction for this one. Maplewood gets outcoached and loses by 2 touchdowns. I say 21-6 final score.

your right ..i didnt understand my bad ... but i do understand that maplewood will come and lay down the law!!
It's kind of funny that you say Maplewood and the law in the same sentence. If Maplewood's players can stay on the right side of it, they may have a good season!
ol rat head ... there we go micman aka shawn taylor!! ...true colors ...come on out ...i sad this better be fun ...we on the right track now baby!!! and maplewood is going to be on track to beat you down friday ..come sit by me at the game. ill buy you a hot dog or something
How often do they have to change the period key on that computer you use at the public library?

I would be delighted to talk trash; you know I've never left a good skunk fight (at least not in the early rounds). However, I'm handicapped by the fact that I only read and write English, and I'm afraid I don't understand a lot of what's being said here.
As to the Byrnes game (or the Trinity game, or the Bolles game, or the Moeller game, or...well, you get the drift), I never got the idea that MBA scheduled these games with an eye towards taking these teams (public or private...the publics are the ones who pushed for the split) to the woodshed. I always assumed it had something to do with testing one's program, seeking challenges, things like that. Conicidentally, there was once an idea that sports taught these things. Sadly, this quaint notion has died the same sad and lonely death that also claimed sportsmanship, class, and stimulating, intelligent discussion on this board.

You clearly did not understand that post.

I wonder how they let White House into the south. White House will definitely be undefeated in the south district. No doubt white house wins it!!
