  3. .I am glad that what ever the problem with PBS and the broadcast of the AAA championship was fixed so that the other games were on. I decided to call the 800 number that PBS was showing asking for donations just to see why they didn't have the game on. The nice lady said that was a problem to take up with my local channel. When I told her it was a state wide problem , she didn't know anything about it. I told her it was great that they covered the championships, but if they were asking for donations for a show I wasn't able to watch, that the $3.95 I paid to see it online was a bargain, compaired to the suggested donation of $100 to honor my senior.

  4. I have figured out that if I log off after each game and log back on right before they start that I dont have any trouble. Kind of a pain, but after each game they get things ready for the next game, and when I didnt log off, the next game didnt automatically come on. Just thought I would share what was working for me.

  5. In a signature win for the Lady Gov's program, WB built a lead on Oak Ridge and was able to hold on at the end to win 48-47 and move on to the second round of the region. Here's some observations:

*Incredible to me that such a storied girls program such as OR wouldn't have any more fan support. Although the game was at OR, it was almost as if the Lady Governors had the home court advantage with fans. Especially the student sections, WB's was larger and much more into the game than OR's.

*OR's post, Armeka Booker, is real good. To hold her to 21 points was actually a pretty good effort by the WB girls. Last night, Booker just didn't get a lot of help.

*One of the refs, short kind of flat-top dude, is the Ted Valentine of high school basketball. Wasn't the first time I've seen him. He's all about "being seen" and "drawing attention to himself."

*Great night for District 4 girls ... all four teams in region (Knox West, Farragut, WB, and Maryville) win first round games. Congratulations to all.

*Oak Ridges basketball facility is incredible. What a great gym. One minor problem ... the bathrooms are too far away from the gym. You have to walk a mile. For an ol man like me, that's not good! := :roflol:

  6. It was an interesting game on several points. Obviously Sevier County is showing some improvement good effort. West has some talented players, but seemed to lack an offensive mentality. West is probably lucky that that they were able to hold off the late game push from Sevier co. Good effort from both goal keepers. I hope that coach from West will figure out who playing what positions. Looked as if there was very little confidance and continuity to team especially on offense. It is early in the season. A wake up call for West and a confidence booster for Sevier County. Good Luck to both!
