  1. A high school coach should design his playbook around the talent of his players, and clearly wc hasn't done this. College, Pros, and maybe a handfull of high school can design a playbook and recruit players that best fit that system. WC can't do this, and the stubborness of traye aric is showing, because not only is the system not working, he still refuses to change the offense. This is just stupidity by traye aric and that is why he needs to be let go, along with the coaching staff. That is if the new coach desires that outcome.

  2. Buckethead...

I've been to three games since i've left the school. I haven't been able to attend the amount of games that i would like to watch due to being in Iraq fighting for your freedom. And you know if my commentment was up i would be more than happy to apply, but as of right now i still have four more years that i owe my country. Next, this is why i do not agree with the coaching staff, particulary traye aric. He changed the offensive system from last year, not elrod or any other coach. This system is his making, and guess what...HIS PROBLEM! I called him out for the 3rd and 10 due to WC only gaining 2.45 yards per rush last game. Why run? Mount Juliet expects you to throw because you sure can't run the ball. At least give your team a shot get the first down. And do you know what happened on that play. A loss of 2 yards. That is why i called out the coaching staff. And i'm not taking anything away from our kicker. He looked great. He will probably go D-1 if he keeps it up. What i was trying to express was that our offense didn't move the ball the entire night to even get themselves in a scoring position. I consider the last game another 0 point score by the offense which would be four for the year! The offensive system that he is running clearly doesn't work, but guess what... he just keeps on running it. I suggest a head coaching change because that will revamp the coaching staff.

  3. I went to the Mount Juliet game and one thing became apparently clear. This offensive system sucks. The only reason they gained yards was due to the quarterback running for his life and making plays. The players on the team are not the problem and the parents are not either. The offensive playcalling was awful to say the least. Running the ball on 3rd and 10? Are you not trying to win the game? Wilson Central clearly had a lot of talent, but the coaching once again was subpar and left them hanging. The only reason they even got three points was due to a Mount Juliet Special Teams error. So with wilson central only scoring a fourth of the points that they have given up, it is clear that there are problems on both sides of the ball. And don't reply saying that the parents were complaining, because to be quite honest. Parents will complain when the team is doing good or bad, stop making excuses.

  4. Team "O"

You must be a relative or close friend...............WC now listen carefully...........cut your losses!!

    go Bucs

Neither Rapid. Just a fan who has been around since the beginning & is embarrassed by the actions of the parents this season. Do I totally agree with everything? No, I don't. Should the coaches be gone? Don't ask me. It's not my decision. I do know that the nonsupport for the coaches has gotten into the boys' heads.

Let me ask you one question, if you do not mind. Have you had a son play for him?

    Yes.

Go figure. I'd bet the only reason your son got to play is because you brown nosed traye aric with booster club money.

  5. Since the opening of Wilson Central High School I have attended many sporting events with the school. It amazes me to read the posts on this thread from WC07 and others not directly related to WC. It seems to me that many of the posts are a direct hit at Traye Aric. I guess WC07 was not around when the team went 0 and forever. I guess WC07 forgets the year that Traye Aric took over as Head Coach --Coach Alexander had just left to go coach at Cumberland University. Do you think Alexander left because he knew that the group of seniors that he had returning were not strong or talented enough to carry the team and did not want to have a losing season after making playoffs several times? Do you think the unsupportive parents in 07 and the unsupportive parents in 09 have anything to do with the attitude on the field---or do you think that they may be the exact same parents, HMMMMMMM?

I have been to the games this season and am amazed at how unsupportive the parents are of the team. I overhear many parents cheering for their child but not for the team. I find that interesting--great sportsmanship.

I don't necessarily agree with all that I see the coaches at WC doing this year, last year, the year before that or even since the school opened. I didn't agree with Coach Alexander when he went to the playoffs and seemingly threw out the old playbook and opened another one for playoffs. Didn't work and he and his team were sent home early.

However, unless you have cold hard facts as to why Traye Aric should be gone and how the problems over there can be solved maybe you should keep your own personal vendetta opinions to yourself.

I feel sorry for the group of seniors and think they could use support on Friday nights along with the coaching staff.

It seems to me that "iknowsomething" knows nothing. I guess you weren't there when wilson central was first built and they had to seperate the Mount Juliet district, and how both Mount Juliet and Wilson Central were awful. I guess you weren't there when Coach Alexander's wife had premature twins and the medical bills were so great that when Cumberland offered to pay him double the salary of Wilson Central and to pay off the medical bills that had accumilated he did what was best for his family. I guess you didn't see that did you? SO NEXT TIME keep your mouth shut until you get your facts straight.

Last time i checked the tennessee vols didn't have a bad season due to a complaining fans. If so, the coaching staff wouldn't have been reconstructed. The parents will complain, however, they are not on the field coaching or making plays. I guess the 08 season should be attributed to the parents for the great support, because without them the team wouldn't be able to play well. I guess that is what mount juliet got this year that made them better.

Mount Juliet had the same struggles as us 8 or so years ago, but look at where they are today. And why do you ask? Because of coaching. That is the difference between us and mount juiet is coaching.

I am in great support of wilson central. I love our players!! and that is when i look on the website and see an 0-7 record i get upset. our players deserve a better coach and deserve better all around.

So maybe you should rethink your previous statement and relize what the true problem is.

  6. The story that happened with Coach Elrod is this. traye aric hired Coach Elrod on during the summer to run the offense, of which Coach Elrod was doing. However, during games a play would be sent down from Coach Elrod to traye aric and instead of just running the play that had been called, traye eric would change the play and running something different that wouldn't work. So Coach Elrod told traye aric that unless he listened to the offensive coor. like he was suppose to do then he would leave. So traye aric told him that it didn't matter to him, because his services weren't needed anymore. Which now looks like a really bad idea, seeing that they have only score 38 points in five games.

    wc7!!

    (3) things:

1.) I do not think you are a former player

2.) Your tale about Coach Elrod leaving just is not true. He was gone in the winter.............I know, because I saw him about that time and asked him about it, and he simply smiled and said his 1-year contact was not renewed. I also know that while he there; that he and Coach Crane ran the offense; Aric never interfered with them.............Coach Elrod was not there this summer!

Aric; I think decided that he wanted to do the offense; It just has not worked out well; as I am sure he had hoped.

    3.) Lighten up dad!!

First, i am a former player, and just to add on to that i just got back from my second tour in Iraq. I go to the school and i don't even get a hello from my old coach after i say whatsup. So yeah, part of me wants him gone because he is a jerk. But secondly, i know what talent was under the team during Coach Alexander's term, and what was it was under traye aric, and i can tell you that the team did worse under tray aric, because of traye aric. So if you have anything else to say let me know.

  7. 0-6 now, thanks traye aric

Obviously you feel everything lays at the feet of Traye Aric. Does he drop a punt, miss a block, get a penalty called, fumble the ball, etc? I don't think so. If Kerry Collins throws a pick, do you blame Jeff Fisher or Kerry Collins? Kerry Collins. My point is the coaches can do all they can do, but when it comes down to it, they never set foot on the field.

A lot of the problems this year are coming from home. If the parents would be more supportive both at home & at the games, the players may have a better attitude. Remember, these are kids & whether parents realize it or not, what they say at home does get into the players heads. If a parent is slamming the coaches & other players at home it carries onto the game field.

Parents get your attitudes right. It may surprise you how the attitude of the team will change!

As a former player of traye aric, i know exactly where to place the blame. 0-6 isn't due to the players. I was on one of the good teams of traye aric, and let me tell you this. The players on that team, made the plays to win. It was not due to traye aric that the team was any good, it was due to the players. yes, the talent has leveled out at wc. However, the talent is not an 0-6 record. So i would like you to take a seat and remind yourself of what a high school coach is there to do. and that is to win games. In any aspect of football, it doesn't matter how bad your players are, if you cannot win a game then you need to go! Look at any team (Lions, 49ers, tennessee vols) These coaches couldn't win and now they are gone. That is why traye aric should be fired.

  9. As the previous post said, his stay at beech was less than pleasant. And yes, he had great talent with his years of success that succeeded dispite his coaching. But now the talent has leveled off, but believe me. The Talent is much better than an 0-5 record, a combined 38 points on offense, and a combined 152 points given up on defense. This team should be at least 3-2 or better. However, the coaching is now there, and you can blame all the assisstants around him, but at the end of the day it is traye aric's fault. I believe that this will be his last year, praise God. And just for some insight look at Mount Juliet, hopefully we are blessed with a coach like theirs. Yes, they have had a few rough years. But he has coached this team to a position where they are dominanting. Unlike traye aric who has just let this team fail.

  10. Or maybe Wilson Central might win a game if they fire Traye Aric. I predict Wilson Central losing 45-0

You gotta do the best with what you have. Talent level changes every year!

The ball is rolling now, I suggest you hang on for the ride.

You really dont believe that firing the coach would help WC win. Take ownership

of the loss. The coach doesnt win, he just coaches the kids. The kids play the game.

Im sure that the coaches are doing everything they can. They dont want to go an entire

season without a victory! The players dont want to lose either. It is what it is.

Yes the offense has changed. BUT what about the defense. What happened to it?

I suggest that you take a minute to reflect. The only difference is that last years

studs (seniors) have graduated. I dont know the specifics, but I am sure that many

of the starters who played most of the games last year are no longer @ WC.

I think that you just sound completely retarded right now. You are backing up a coach that calls out his kids on the front page of the newspaper. What a joke for a head coach. If you have a problem with your kids then you keep that between you and the kids. You do not let that get into the media. I've never heard of any other coach in TN. Call out his kids like that. It is just messed up. So maybe you should sit down and reflect about what it means to be a head coach of high school football in charge of kids that are 14-17 years old. You don't call someone out like that. Especially if you are 2 1/2 times their age. So I'll let that rest on your mind for a while

  11. The problem with Wilson Central is Traye Aric, he has been a detriment since arriving. Who is their right mind blames their "high school" football players for a loss. That is his problem. He is never the problem, it is always someone else. I have never heard a college coach or nfl coach blame their players for a loss. They always say that they will review the film and make corrections for next week. These are just high school football kids. You never blame a loss on the players. What a disgrace for a head coach! I don't think that they are going to win a game all year. And i predict aric being gone at the end of the year.

  12. Traye Aric has been a detriment to the Wilson Central Football program since arriving to the school. Yes, he has reached the playoffs twice; however, I submit that these appearances cannot be attributed to coaching but to the skill of the players. Look at the schools in the same district as Wilson Central. Oakland for instance won State due to have good players, but more importantly, good coaching. Wilson Central has some very gifted athletes that with good coaching could be even better. Traye Aric is not even a coach by my submission. Coaching football at high school is just a sub priority of what a high school coach is really there to do. A head coach is someone who has been placed into the school to develop these young men into men of character, integrity, ready to go out into the college world and make a difference. However, after talking to many of the players at Wilson Central it becomes clear that Traye Aric cannot do this. Many of the players have stated that in the hallways, Traye Aric will not even say hello. I was at the school last semester when one of our past players, who is currently serving our country in the military, came into the school to say hello to some of his past teachers. Traye Aric simply walked past this player as the player was saying hello and did not say a word. This was just appalling to me. A former player should always be greeted by his former coach. But this is a player that is willing to die for his country at a moment’s notice does not even get the benefit of having his coach saying hello. This is just unacceptable. Now back to the football subject, Traye Aric cannot even accomplish coaching. Instead of conforming his playbook to best fit the capabilities of his players he has made his playbook a west coast style that clearly doesn’t work. A west coast offense is designed to score 35-49 point per game on an average night. However, Wilson Central has only been able to manage 38 points total, throughout three games. Traye Aric informed Coach Elrod who has over 40 years of experience that his services are no longer needed, which as of now, looks likes a big mistake. He has made current players practice 7 days a week, which leads me to believe that Traye Aric believes the 0-3 record should be attributed to his players. This is just amazing to me that no one has spoken out about this. A high school coach can make or break a program. It is clear that the program is broken and that there is only one person to blame and that is the Head Coach Traye Aric. Hopefully, this will be the last year that Wilson Central will have to deal with the terrible impersonation of a coach that Traye Aric is.
