I want to ask this cause everyone is posting this Bartlett/ Mill score to be close... Millington is alot better this yr than last yr especially on offense. Millington handled bartlett easy last yr and this yr will be worse than last yr. Ok im finished.. heheh
One point is as good as a hundred.
Where is Ace this year? He was all over the boards last year stroking Arlington.

I think your formula is flawed. How can you have Millington below Cordova when Millington blew them out 35-7 on Cordova's home field?
Millington (5-5)
MUS 0-38 (D2) (10-0) 0 50 20
Olive Branch (MS) 13-41 (6A) (8-2) 0 40 16
Bartlett 42-7 (5A) (4-6) 84 20 0
Munford 18-0 (5A) (3-7) 83 15 0
Raleigh Egypt 54-0 (5A) (1-9) 81 5 0
Christian Brothers 7-31 (D2) (8-2) 0 40 16
Cordova 35-7 (6A) (6-4) 106 30 12
Bolton 7-0 (6A) (4-6) 104 20 8
Craigmont 0-7 (5A) (7-3) 0 35 0
Arlington 7-10 (6A) (10-0) 0 50 20
458 305 92 855
Cordova (6-4)
ECS 17-35 (D2) (8-1) 0 40 16
Brighton 34-32 (6A) (8-2) 108 40 16
Desoto Ce. (MS) 10-35 (6A) (3-7) 0 15 6
Craigmont 7-6 (5A) (7-3) 87 35 0
Collierville 35-14 (6A) (3-7) 103 15 6
Millington 7-35 (6A) (5-5) 0 25 10
Arlington 6-22 (6A) (10-0) 0 50 20
Bartlett 14-3 (5A) (4-6) 84 20 0
Raleigh Egypt 35-0 (5A) (1-9) 81 5 0
Bolton 16-13 (6A) (4-6) 104 20 8
567 265 82 914
OK, lets look at the two teams and who they played.
Like opponents: Records, Mill 4-2, Cordova 3-3
Bartlett - Millington 42-7, Cordova 14-3 - advantage Millington
Raleigh Egypt - Mill 50-0, Cordova 35-0 - advantage Millington
Head to Head - Millington 35-7 - advantage Millington
Bolton - Millington 7-0, Cordova 16-13 - advantage Millington
Craigmont - Millington 0-7, Cordova 7-6 - advantage Cordova
Arlington - Millington 7-10, Cordova 6-22 - advantage Millington
Non-conf teams and their records:
Millington (3 Loses and 1 win) :
MUS - 10-0
CBHS - 8-2
Olive Branch - 8-2
Munford - 3-7
Cordova (2 Loses and 2 wins):
ECS - 8-1
Brighton - 8-2
Desoto Central - 3-7
Collierville - 3-7
ECS, Desoto Central, and Collierville aren't even close to MUS, CBHS, and Olive Branch.
Cordova beat Brighton, Munford beat Brighton, Millington beat Munford.
You can't argue with that! It's in black and white.
All these sos formulas and such are subjective and flawed. What did teams do against like opponents and head to head. Thats the true measure!

Gut tells me to go with Arlington, but may be closer than people think!
Arlington 20
Millington 13
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Arlington in a close one 10-7 in overtime.
-
Trojan Fans, bottom line is turnovers and penalties cost us last week. I think the game plan, defense, O line and running game did well last week. I agree with Cam we must do what we do well and quit trying to change personnel around so much.
I agree with what you guys are saying, but no one has said anything about the tackling. I can't believe at this level those kids still do not know the fundamentals of tackling. And I've seen them play more than just the Arlington game. Players in the right places to make plays and then miss tackles! It finally bit them in the rear end Friday.
-
We are glad you are not a Millington fan. You have shown zero class on this site. You constantly throw insults around, and for what reason. You hide behind the post. Talk football or just do not talk.
Doug from Millington
Right on Doug!! Great post.

Thanks ATeam, but you are a little late already mission accomplished, thanks for looking out.
No problem dou. Hope it helped. Heck, I'm available in the future to pick against the Trojans whenever you need help getting them motivated for a nominal fee.....popcorn!
Remember dou, I am a fan of the Trojans and all the teams around here. I just pickem as I see them.
Good luck tonight and prove me wrong!

Wrong because Oak Ridge had a black coach but he could not cut it as a Head Coach and was given every opportunity to do so.
Another Prime example is Hillsboro this year in Metro Nashville of a Black coach given a team that has historically had a white coach and has done NOTHING this year with a team that WON the Gold Ball last year.
So much for saying it is the same in middle and east Tn.
I do not care what 'color' a coach is as long as his main color is WINNING and he does the most he can to help his players get ahead in life and school.
I'd like to see the list of African American head coaches in Tennessee and where they are located. That will tell the true story.
-
It'll happen just as quickly as the Memphis City Schools hire a white football coach. It just ain't gonna be a happening!
I suspect that you are correct, Visionaire.
Sad, but true.....again.
Bottom line: Both situations are an awfully sad commentary about the state of race relations in these school systems.
I would venture to say that the same can be said in middle and east tn.

Im going to go out on a limb and say the weather will not affect the outcome of the game. Looking back, how many Friday Nights this year have been dry? Not many! Arlington has played in wet conditions and I am almost positive they got some work in on tuesday outside in the rain. The Arlington coaches will have these young men prepared and ready for whatever weather is ahead!
No disrespect to the Millington people at all! They have a great ball team and I know Coach Hawkins will have them ready to try and make a statement in Week 10! I hate predictions and will probably fall on my face with this one BUT........ I SAY ARLINGTON 35-10......
Doug,
Get your printer!!!!! Here is another one to print out!!!!

Ace,
Also, I wonder why a coach of any team would get on a message board, period. You seem to add fuel to the fire all the time on here with the Millington fans. I wonder if Arlington's head coach knows you get on here and post all the time and if he would approve.
I don't have a certain team, but happen to live in the area and try to keep up with all the teams, Millington, Arlington, Bolton, Rosemark, Munford, Brighton, Covington, etc. I am just a fan of good HS football. I have been to quite a few different games this season, and I will tell you that there are fans just like the Millington fans you talk about at every school. Matter of fact, at the Arlington/Craigmont game I personally witnessed an Arlington fan disrespect the Millington coaching staff once Arlington scored the go ahead touchdown, after sitting there the whole game not saying a word while they were behind. The Millington coaching staff sat there the whole game and never said or did anything.
It happens everywhere.
-
What comments Ace? I was just stating my honest opinion. I think Arlington will be able to handle Millington next Friday and win their first district title and complete their first undefeated regular season. I guess you now have a problem with people stating their opinions?
-
Great job Craigmont on a awesome win. I guess I was giving Millington more credit than they deserved. It was confirmed that they don't have that breakaway speed like years past, having backs break into the open multiple times only to be run down from behind. Special teams were also a weak point for the Trojans as stated in a previous post. The defense is the strong point, but it now looks like the secondary may be suspect.
Craigmont came out of the gates out of the ordinary and caught Millington secondary sleeping. Great coaching call!
Also as stated before, Craigmont has a good running game and a adequate passing game. They should do well in the
playoffs. Lack of depth was not a problem. The kicker looks to have a strong enough leg. I think it was just the weather and wind that kept them from trying any field goals. They would have been long attempts though. I remember that one would have been an 37 yard attempt against the wind.
Next week should make for a fun game. Looks as though Arlington will be able to take advantage of that suspect secondary of Millington and as long as they stack the box should handle their offense. I say the Tigers win this game
by 2 touchdowns. Let me be the first to congratulate them on their first district title and undefeated regular season!
-
Maybe we can pave a few roads for Arkansas so they will annex West Tennessee.
State Champs? Give me a break.
Did your coach call everyone else who is undefeated and say, "We are having a tournament tonight and you guys are in". HA HA HA HA
This is soooo funny.

Here is my preview of this game.....
Craigmont - Reminds me of Cordova. Line has good size, good athletes on both sides of the ball, nice quarterback, and for the most part well disciplined team. I do see issues with depth on the roster. The only game I have seen them this year (Arlington) they were susceptible to the pass and counter plays. Special teams had issues also, but wet field could have been part of that. For the most part a run team.
Millington - Run, run, run. Pass maybe 4-5 times a game. Well disciplined team. Adequate line, but not alot of size. Lots of athletes on both sides of the ball.
Special teams may be the weakest point on this team. Defense is the strong point. Don't seem to have that breakaway speed running back this year, but have a stable of good running backs. Playing #2 quarterback due to injury to #1.
I think this game is a close smash mouth football game. Mostly runs by both teams and comes down to which defense is up to the task. The wet field should slow both teams down a little. Turnovers could also play a big part in this game.
If Millington "D" can force some turnovers like they did in the Cordova game, I think it could turn into a 2-3 touchdown difference in Millington's favor. Craigmont's chance is to keep Millington's offense off the field with ball control and long sustained drives, while keeping turnovers to a minimum.
Thoughts?

Doug,
About that popcorn you are providing.... you gonna pop some new or you gonna give us some that was left over from ya'lls last game?
-
on to some good news Trojan fans Millington Freshman defeated the Arlington Tigers tonight ending their undefeated season and putting our Freshman number one among county schools. Great job Coach Clifton and Staff. I also think this ended the so called Millington Sweep that was broadcast during the Metro games.
Congrats Millington freshman on your win!
No excuses from me.
Great win and only bodes well on Millington's future at the varsity level.
-
I agree with onefortheteam. Should be a great matchup. I think with the Tigers being off this week and especially since they moved the game to Millington I will attend this game also. Maybe we can sit together onefortheteam. Doug, you providing the popcorn?
Where is the best place to park over there?
-
Looks like the weather might play a role in the games again this week.
Millington wins vs Craigmont 20-6.
Germantown wins vs Ridgeway 21-13.
Whitehaven wins vs East 20-12.
FACS wins vs St. Georges 27-7.
MUS wins vs CBHS 31-13.
Briarcrest wins vs St. Benedict 24-7.
-
9-0...what else does Arlington have to do?
Win their next six games!
Great job Tigers. Great win tonight.
You had me worried there for a long time.
Tigers came out of the gate and dominated the 1st quarter. Two field goals and a touch for a 13-0 lead.
Then the chiefs dominated the 2nd quarter with 2 touches for a 14-13 halftime lead.
Third quarter was pretty much a wash.
Chiefs looked to own the 4th quarter driving to the Tiger 6 yard line where they stalled and missed a field attempt with less than 2 minutes left in the game. The Tigers completed a long pass to about the chief 10 yard line and were able to punch it in for the win 19-14.

Quad 1 looks fine..
but I'd think quad 2 would be
Cookeville
Coffee Co.
Franklin Co.
Blackman
Riverdale
Oakland
Mt. Juliet
Lebanon
That would put the east quad 1 and 2 together (this group has met in the semis in years past)
Quad 3 would be
Rossview
Dickson Co.
Brentwood
Franklin
Independence
Hunters Lane
McGavock
Overton
Then throw in your memphis teams
Doesn't make sense to send Cookeville to Nashville and Williamson County when they are likely closer to Murfreesboro/Franklin Co./Coffee.
Good point. Makes perfect sense for Cookeville. But what about Franklin County, does it make sense to send them to Mt. Juliet/Lebanon/Cookeville when
they are likely closer to Franklin/Independence/Brentwood? Cookeville is most likely closer to Nashville than Franklin County is to those three schools.
Just drew the quad line east to west instead of north to south.
