The TSSAA Handbook only applys to the playoff seeding, not district championships. Only the district records apply to the district championship. Both teams had one loss in the district. cleveland beat bradly so cleveland is district champs. Cleveland is the district champs!

8-2 gets you a 4 seed, but 7-3 gets you a 2 and 3 seed in quad 2. This has gotten ridiculous.

The 7-3 team won the district championship. They played Blackman and siegel as non district games not some below par teams.

It is really sad when two teams this poor can be playing for a playoff spot. TSSAA needs to re-think the playoff system.

Thats probably a good thing. It will save them the embarrasment of losing in front of their home fans!

I have been thinking about this district as time closes in on the official start date and , to me, Franklin County is the big question mark this year. They were really young last year but very competitive. If everyone got a year better on their team, they could be pretty tough this year. Then again, I feel like this has been an underacheiving team much of the last decade. I think Franklin County is the only team not to make a region appearance over the last 10 years. Does anybody have any info. on how they have looked this offseason? Thanks.

The Tullahoma program has only been to one region appearance in 12 years. Stanley Bean is the new head coach. He was the coach in the early 90's or mid 90's. Both programs have been down. Tullahoma has no reason to be down that often. The coach after Jerry Mathis absolutley killed the program. In the 70's 80's and early 90's before Mathis retired the program was always one of the strongest in the state. The one year they got out of the district was all because of the morris kid.

Atkins would be a terrible choice for Moore County. Moore County needs stability not another carpet bagger.

I agree! He needs to go back to the small school division in MS. He can't win in TN. Steve M. will find out real quick if he is going to run his offense with coach stockstills son @ siegel. He couldn't run a offense @ Moore Co. The wing T Ha!

Its funny how Matthews can get the moore co. job but can't get any other job out there as a head coach. I guess he can always get an asst. job like at segel. good luck to moore co. finding their 4th coach in 5 years.

I guess if he can't get the Franklin co., Warren Co., Siegel, or Lavergne Jobs. I guess you will have to keep him in Moore co. Are there anymore openings he can apply for?

Could it be Ralph Thompson from Maplewood? He has tried to get into rutherford county a number of times.

I agree Mantooth very smart football coach! Some of the guys on your list that are head coaches applying for the job will not and want work hard. They like to run the roads and play all the time. FC folks better find a serious coach with a mission because you don't need another 1 or 2 years and done. The kids deserve better.

It looks like the lovable and cuddly Mac Mcurry has risen.

Why not hire now so the new coach can get started. He needs to be recruiting the halls, working the weights, and gaining confindence in the kids going into spring practice. If you don't do it now it will be a slow start to a new begining. Also, His current school may not let him out of his contract if he doesn't go at the semester break. It only makes sense!

So are you saying he didn't have all the best players on defense. TM played DE this year on passing downs, the FB played DT,the TE played DE and DT, the receivers Played DB's and OLB's and last year Shaq even played defense with Martin! So how many is that 6 or 7 or do you want all your players going both ways!

ONLY an insecure moron would get rid of Brewer. He is a class act and a very strong defensive coach that is a great role model and cares about the kids.

 

Maybe the new DOS can find a coach that she can get along with as that seems to be the problem.

 

Coach Reed is a good MS coach but he is NOT ready for that big a step up. Maybe he can serves as an assistant at the HS level for a few years and then make the move up.

If he is such a strong DC why do they always finish at the bottom for points against. I believe he is a good person and enjoys the kids and coaching but the numbers are not there.
