  1. But, couldnt we say the same about Polk?

You can say that about Polk's Schedule but SHS schedule is really weak, I mean there are only 3 teams with winning records on their schedule not that this matters. I'm glad to see that the district as a whole is getting more competitive, should be a good game but I'm a believer in that Polk is the favorite until proven otherwise, just like Alcoa was the favorite until CAK beat them last year. Its always hard to get over the hump. Looking forward to a good game though

  2. JV schedule because meigs is aweful. I was referring to the schedule in general, outside of Louden, Lenior City and Polk, there are not teams that will come close to making the playoffs, but I also realize you can only beat who you play, I would just like to see how good SHS really is but you will not get to see that until LC plays them.

  3. So you just said that Chatt Central is equal to Notre Dame, hahahahahahahaha I can't even comment on this because that is like compairing Tennessee football to UTC football, neither is top of thier division but Come on Man. Chatt Central has athletes at least while Notre Dame has 0 athletes, but I glad Mcminn Central had gotten better but I'm not buying into them being a playoff team, nor am I buying that they will beat Polk by 14. It could be a close game but in order for this to happen Polk will have to turn the ball over 7 times in the first half, otherwise same story as usual. Polk by 21.

  4. The Chiefs take this one easy, they should stay undefeated for a while, looking their schedule. I could only see them losing 2 games the entire season which is a step in the right direction for this program. The next step would be stop playing a JV schedule and actually play teams that can walk and chew gum at the same time but hey I guess you have to start somewhere right.

  5. This will be the best game of the night, I think that for the first time ALcoa is the underdog (don't know if that's possible with 7 straight championships). The CAK offense is the best in high school football period but you are having to play a Rankin coached team which makes you a little nervous. I think this game will come down to second half turn overs.

  6. I have looked at the schedules for both teams Alcoa's opponents have a record of 70 wins and 38 loses with 8 teams making the playoffs. Bledsoe's opponents have a record of 36 wins and 68 loses with 4 teams making the playoffs. I'm going to have to go with the team that has been battle tested this year and say Alcoa wins this one by a decent margin. The weak schedule will catch up with the warriors this week, hopefully I'm wrong but I don't see how you can get better by playing weak opponents.

  7. Sequoyah would not have won a game in Red Banks district! If they were in a district with other 4A teams instead of all 3A teams they would not be in the playoffs either. RED BANK BY 28

I would have to agree with that, playing in a weak district has helped the record, i will take the over if the spread is 28.

  8. This should be a good matchup. However, I think the Sequatchie will have the overall speed advantage, and has played the tougher schedule. Sequatchie is VERY physical and has great speed at some positions. I think this will be the one of the best if not the best team Harpeth has played all year. Best of luck to both teams. Sequatchie by 2 or 3 tds.

Maybe I think Camden is still probably the best team that they will play all year.

  9. Seen both teams plus about 15 other area teams play this year. Mcminn has way more playmakers than any other team around.Mcminn will also be without that fierce little running back Plaster I think. Tribe fan you stole my score from earlier post and BUC you are right on about the Tradition. Cleveland has also been Mcminn's biggest rival the last 20 years in basketball and football due to success. However over the decades and across the many sports including girls basketball in the 80's and 90's BRADLEY-MCMINN is the key rivalry in this district. Back in the 80,s football wise it was RHEA-WHOEVER 90's Cleveland 20's still Cleveland due to people still trying to make up for the beatings they took back in the 90's. In the last 20 years I would agree that Cleveland-Bradley would be the most heated rivalry but don't dis-respect the Bears-Cherokees rivalry. Bradley has 3 major threats on offense, Mcminn has 6. The key will be on defense. Good luck to both teams Friday and into the playoffs as they will be in my opinion in the toughest Quad in the state. INJURY FREE HOPEFULLY.

:roflol: I have seen both of these schools play as well but to say MC has more play makers than Bradley is crazy. I hope Mcminn plays well and wins but I'm also a realist and that tells me to go down the skill position roster, then rethink that statement. QB position advantage bradley, RB advantage bradley (Houston), Reciever advantage Bradley (Stoval), kick returner maybe advantage Mcminn. Hopefully you can prove me wrong but I'm taking Bradley in this one. I was gonna say by 3 td's but with the rain I will say 10 pts.

  10. I can't say I blame signal mt. for playing up in 4A. With them being in Chatt there is no telling where they could get sent in the playoffs. If it was quad 3 this year in 3A then they could have been ok and prob played GP in the 3rd round and prob beat them, but if they had got sent to quad 2 then it would have been a short post season for them. I mean they were good but I don't think they could have beat Alcoa, CAK, Polk, Louden, and Tyner. Howard would have been a close game as well as kingston. They would have blew out sweetwater. So 2nd round is as far as they would have gotten. This is only my opinion and I am only judging this on seeing them in person.

  11. What I like is that the real standouts in this game where mostly 3A players. Congrats to Colemen!

I was very impressed as well with all of the 3A athletes, where is the QB form CAK coming, as well as the alcoa kids, the linebacker from Polk Co, and the Plemons boy form louden. I thought these kids played very well.

  12. Yes he did quite a bit this season, last season, the season before...

But maybe that just because locally, we all know what he can do. It's hard to register HS popularity outside the local realm. I was surprised about the Mr Football.

I'd like someone to explain what happened on Polk Co sometime. Somehow he wasn't effective that game.

He did ok but Polk Co was pretty good. SP was out matched up front and also Polk had a linebacker that was all over the place.

  13. I have enjoyed reading this thread! Nothing like a lil smack talk to get things going in the right direction.....

I do believe Alcoa to be the better team, but just a reminder......

S Carolina over Alabama, Wisconsin over Ohio State, App State over Mich '07.

It's why we play the game....anyone can loose on any given Friday!

Im sure both teams are prepared and hope they have an injury free game.

This ole H-Town BULLDOG will pull for EHS in this one! But if you win, EHS, dont be too overbearing about it! :roflolk:

As for EHS taking any of our football players at Hampton, none come to mind! Although, we have had and do have a couple that came from EHS! Just saying! :thumb:

As for the smack talk about Greenville......To quote them, "BRING IT" :hungry:

I think this game will be alot like the UTC vs Auburn game this year. UTC is having a good year but just not on the level of the major colleges, just like betsy is having a good year but def not up to alcoa standards. prediction

    Alcoa 49

    Betsy 7

  14. Since Alcoa and Cak are the 2 best teams in the state and have played pretty much the toughest teams in the state, who do you guys think would be left in this round had the TSSAA split up quad 2 and put CAK, Alcoa, Louden, Polk, Tyner, Howard in different quads.

  15. Polk doesn't deserve respect, no one deserves it "just 'cause'-you earn it. And they are worth of respect for their game plan, their toughness, and excellent tackling. Had better speed than we thought.

Coach on top of press box shouldn't be allowed near a HS field--totally classless and bush league-just punkish behavior.

Polk was second best team we played after Alcoa. Most of us thought this would be a one TD game and it was. Just glad it went our way.

very classy of CAK. i mean i have always learned in church that he who is without sin throw the first stone. Very christian attitude to call out a coach on the press box. I have known the ones up there for a long time and there is no way that they would have wanted a kid to get hurt. They were probably just frustraited becasue every other play a CAK player was hurt. Hope you boys toughen up be fore next week.

  16. I'm puling for Sequatchie in this one because they are from the Chatt area but I'm gonna be realistic and say that they lose by 2-3 tds on friday because its a long drive to GP as well as they are playing a good team and they have not had many of those lately. Before everyone blows up yes signal mountain is good but look at that score, i think 49-7 or something so they didn't compete very well with them so you can't really count it. Go indians
