@king Just done some digging on Unaka. They ave 293 yards a game, that's not that bad. That would leave me to believe they moved the ball well most games.QB has completed near 60% of his passes for about 1200 yards. One WR has over 800 yards receiving this year.did they move the ball on you all?Just trying to get a feel for the Rangers.
They run 1 play wide receiver screen crossing the middle, they have hit this a few times for big plays against bad teams. I would not advise them to run this play this week...LOL

What gives
Preparing these young men on Friday nights is a tough challenge the way this crazy mess is right now. Glad who is on the sidelines for us to do just that. The running game is stout for the dogs. Contain Hv’s back and control line of scrimmage is the key. If they can do that I like our chances.

It'll get better with some practice, still missing 3 starters,or at least they was starters. Teams has some quality depth is several spots. Should be a fun year.
Pujo a good mix of underclassman playing last night. How many seniors on this team?

Seen the Rangers fell just short at Cloudland. Districts are going to be fun to watch. Every team better show up every night.

We have a couple that would be more demonstrative if the coach allowed it.
My boys are not world beaters, but could play better ball than a lot of what I'm seeing...At that, I cannot recall one of them acting out during competition...If they had, I would've stomped em thru the floor/field quicker than a coach could've set them on a bench! Do what you do as if you've been there before.
UH embarrassed this bunch...Nobody wanted the ball, we were slow and didn't play D...UH was feeling it, they were quicker and shooting lights out beyond the arch and a defender never closed closer than 5' to em.
To get up on UH you have to play good perimeter defense. They can blister you from outside, if they had an inside game or big man they would be hard to handle. Kid are kids and they will do what you permit them to do. I do like the coach for UH and think a lot of him but I think this was started before he took over this year. He likes the high energy of the kids but every time you knock down a shot you celebrate like you won the game kinda gets little ridiculous for me.

Seen UH a few times but never saw them shoot that percentage from the field in any of em.
Hate excuses, but a few starters didn't practice Sunday and Monday due to flu and a couple more shouldn't have been on the floor last night due to sickness. It showed in their lack of hustle and amount of turnovers. You won't see that type of game next time they meet....I'd say we'll see a lot less trash talking, hand clapping and flamboyancy too. We play NG Friday, I'm interested in seeing how that goes.
As for the PG situation, I think we're fine and the subs are just young but can play....Heck looked like we lacked in EVERY position last night but just one of those nights I reckon
What happened to the old days, Show boating and taunting would get your butt resting on the pine quicker than anything. That bunch is ridiculous and has been the last few years.

Yes Unaka is down this year, if you guys have a legit team you should have no problem with them.
Unaka lost a lot of key talent. they are very young and will be starting some freshman. I don't see them being in the conference race at all. I do think Cloudland is going to be the front runner North Greene not too far behind in second.

The Happy Valley team that beat Hampton earlier in the year, what happened to it? It gonna make an appearance Friday?
The Hampton team that showed up in the HV game is not the same Hampton team from then until now. It took couple games to find their identity. Hv was very happy to play them early, talking to some HV folk scouting at the Hampton/North game Hampton was a different team than they had witnessed..

Do you realize you guys have had 3 shutouts in row. Last 3 games nobody has scored a point.
Only given up 8 points at home all year...outscored opponents 233-8...

If the Dogs can eliminate the big plays and keep everything in front of them I like their chances.

Is the 7 on 7's this week? Times and info much appreciated.

Just going to get even better and better...

Heard Big Mike's been hanging around the gym still with a local team helping out some...

He has done a heck of a job already but yes still a long way to go for the U to be a solid team.
Warrior I think HV is the team to beat in the county next year. How's your o and d line looking?
-
The U will never have much, they have some talent still not coming out, cause they are discouraged from other sporting coaches up there.

I’ll also go out on a limb and say that the Lady Landers host a SubState game in the next 2 years and make a State Appearance soon. Birch is stepping back into a slew of talent that he has been very close to and has Coached and will for about the next 5 years. Should be very exciting to watch Lady Lander B ball for a while!
Could be more than just an appearance. The pieces to the puzzle are coming together.

I’d put my $ on the former Jr. High Coach
I say that's a pretty good bet.

Any updates? Heard Chambers declined the position.

I heard the Unaka guy put in for the Cland girls basketball job. He is a good coach IMO be interesting to see which way this one goes.
I heard the same thing not a bad hire at all, but he says he's not going anywhere but could be just keeping it on the down low..

Heard Unaka isn't hosting Districts now? Maybe at Boone after all..

I think you would be surprised about the amount of control that coach has over his players. UH has proven to be a tough place to play at this year as their students do an excellent job of making it a hostel environment. They move very well in transition and there are only a few teams who have been able to keep up with them.
Not from what I seen, but your right I did see a very talented bunch and do run the floor well. Just a lot of extra stuff after a good play that in my mind should have been technical fouls and shouting f-bombs in front of the coach when getting a foul called and he turns a deaf ear.

Oh great! Sounds like the coach needs to gain a lil control of the pompous bunch! I see the attitude on about every team these days. The clapping hands in an opponents face after a simple layup, steal or whatever irritates me to no end. Thank Dukie for introducing this. I swear if I coached and a kid did that, he wouldn't play the rest of the season. They should be T'd up every single time. I promised mine I would drag them off the floor if they dared ever be so overbearing.
I watched them against Unaka and I do believe that was one of the biggest difference in the game. They had to play hard to win and they did most of it by taunting and trying the intimidation method lol.

True that everyone has their opinion and in my opinion that Simpson kid is phenomenal and I do think we will see him quite often on Saturdays. Another opinion WV would not have made it to BC Bowl without Simpson. And I do have a fact that precious metals in the form of silver is on the rise during this horrible inflation so Silver is not all that bad.
