You do realize that Oakland and Riverdale don't play on the same day as Blackman and Siegel don't you?
Oakland-Riverdale play Thursday night of Week 0. Blackman and Siegel play that Friday night followed by La Vergne and Smyrna on Saturday night. It's a special thing the district is doing for its Week 0 games. New school Stewarts Creek will be at Ravenwood that Friday night.
The DNJ had this info several months ago.
-
I think you may see Ravenwood go a different route. One that may end up having a lot scratching their heads.
-
This sums it up.
Two worst play calls I have seen in a long time.
Disagree on punting. A first down and the game is over. I think they wanted the ball in their hands and didn't want to give it back to them if they didn't have to.
They have gone for it on 4th down all season. Ball was at the Maryville 37.

so I have to pay money to read any of this ? great
You get a few page views for free. After that, there is a small price.

Stockstill's numbers to date: 130-of-196 passing for 2,008 yards, 23 TDs, 5 INTs
Rushing 89 for 642 yards with 10 TDs.
That's 10 games. He missed one non-district game due to an injury. And it comes in a league many consider is traditionally the toughest in the state.
HOWEVER, Siegel hasn't had many close games. They've had 8 games end in mercy rule and 1 that was a running clock at one point.
He hasn't thrown that much in the second half, and his run production has dipped because he's primarily handing off, and it's a running clock.
Offense is averaging 43.1 pts a game and 441.3 yards a game on an 11-0 team ranked No. 2 in 6A.

We'll be chatting at 8 p.m. today on the playoffs.
Here is the link:

If what I'm projecting is correct, a second-place team from 7-AAA could be forced to go on the road in the first round as a 5 seed. Maybe even as a 6 seed.

Join DNJ prep editor Tom Kreager at 8 p.m. (CDT) today (Sept. 19) for a live chat on prep football. Topics will evolve around Rutherford Co., but I may be able to field other questions.

Looking at the latest AP Poll and then moving teams around for possible quarter final matchups,
Maryville
Bearden
Oak Ridge
Riverdale
Siegel
Whitehaven
D-Bennett
Science Hill
East seems a lot tougher than west. We will not see the games above because of number of 'eastern' teams.
Just outside of top 8 is teams like Brentwood, Mt Juliet and Dickson County.
This seems to indicate there are going to be some great second-round games in the eastern
part of the state.
What is your 'sweet 16' bracket after this week?
Playoffs? Too early to think about playoffs? Playoffs?
-
I have heard estimates of six to seven thousand. I have to believe that was a bit off. I am willing to bet that thier was more than that.
I was told by Siegel principal about 6,000. And somewhere around 5,000 paid.
-
Great games in Rutherford Co. this week. La Vergne-Smyrna, Blackman-Oakland and of course Riverdale-Siegel.
We'll chat about those games and more on dnj.com starting at 8 p.m.
Go to this at 8 p.m. to chat:
Thanks

Or if other schools pass them in enrollment.
I was told Oak Ridge's enrollment has dropped by around 300. Is there a school that has opened?

How does 9A decide which teams advance to the regional? Does the regular season champ automatically advance?
It is decided by each district. There is no statewide rule. The TSSAA does not have a preference of how teams are selected for the region.

Stewarts Creek opens fall of 2013. So 2013-14 school year.

Employs? No, if you are talking paying someone for full time work.
Do we run his column sometimes? Yes, when we have room.

Folks,
Our weekly live DNJ chats are winding down. Likely last one of the year at 7 p.m. today on dnj.com.
Unless something changes, we won't do one during the basketball season. There never was enough interest in it.
Thanks for participating this season.

Nice attempt. mjuhb. Missed on Antioch seeding though. (District champs and runners-up seeded first, my friend).
Would be interesting to see if TSSAA places either Antioch or Centennial in Quad 2 this week. Depends on what they are looking at. Could go from Franklin all the way up to Rossview, or pull in Antioch and go from Centennial up.
