GH hasn’t talked to any players. They’re not allowed to

Ok just sounds a little shady.  A kid all of the sudden goes to a school they are not zoned for by a coach that is does not communicate with them... I read all the articles written and still don't know what they did wrong.  Communication with kids that were zoned to go to MJ? I am sure every coach goes to the feeder school to communicate about athletics in the future and what to expect.

The kid was in school at Wilson Central not zoned for MJ.

The  part where he had all the parents of kids now zoned for Green Hill come in and tried to  tell them how to fill out a  zone request in order to  stay was not a good  move on his part either.

Every parent that  had bad feelings for him rolled on him. He never stood a  chance.

I get the kid was at WC, but was going to be enrolled as a student at MJ the following year.  The coach sent a remind message about working out and he wants the kids that have been apart of the program to stay (who wouldn't).  What I am saying is what is different in that and what GH is doing? If a kid is zoned or enrolled to be in your school what is the issue.  Sounds like the kid jumped ship to go to GH. I am wandering if the kid just decided to go to a school that he is not zoned for just for the heck of it or maybe just maybe there was someone at GH that asked him to come on.  We will never know.  I don't really see what the issue is?

Should I be worried if it’s Wilson Central? Well if it’s based on a ten year trend then probably not.... anyways right now Mount Juliet couldn’t score if their opponent was blindfolded. Whether it was against good competition or not, there’s no excuse we go and get under 100 yards of offense versus Gallatin. The same Gallatin team that let up 250+ yards to Lebanon. That’s a bad coaching job if you ask me, but like 98.9 Wilson county said it best, when you’re everyone’s “Super Bowl” games aren’t going to come easy. Coaching, blocking, finding lanes, throwing the ball (having a one dimensional QB that isn’t even accurate doesn’t help) accurately, and just overall execution have to improve. Otherwise this season is shot before it even got started. Luckily our defense is great, especially for how undersized it is. I see this game being closer than it needs to be unless we can find some solid play calling and execution.

Sounds like you need to call the offense.

I went to both the Lebanon and Gallatin game and thought the same thing... MJ's running game is pretty good and passing game is there, but execution is lacking.  Looked like vs Gallatin there was a lot of dropped balls.  It is also hard to start backed up and claw your way out which seemed to happen a few times vs Gallatin. It is funny to see peoples different opinions on here.  You saw a bad offensive performance where I saw a great defensive game on both sides.  Minus one bad play the game might still be going the way both of those defenses were playing.

Saying all that, this is always a great atmosphere game ever since my son played back in the day.  Don't know much about Central other than record, but they always play against MJ hard.

I’m pretty sure I heard he is related to Trey Perry. Doubt he would leave if that’s the case

I forgot that.  If Gallatin could get him though it would be a dynamic hire. I wonder if the new coach would go after him and if he would be willing to listen.

Mt Juliet, Congratulations your win was well deserved.  It was plain to all that watched that you wanted it more and played that way.

I could not believe how Blackman players sauntered around.  I also could not believe Coach Kit was allowing it.  HE sure did NOT play that way!

I could also see that Mt Juliet had spent some MAJOR time in the weight room since last year as they were blowing players off the ball.

Blackman, turn in your gear and get into the weight room.  You need it

MJ takes massive pride in the weight room.  Ask around and people will tell you the guy running the weight room is the real deal.  He has been saught after by many high schools and colleges.

  6. Well I was hoping to read about a MJ McGavock game, but got the same old talk about MJ and Rtherford County/ schedule talk again.  I have no dog in the race, but I will say that before their season the schedule for MJ looked competitive - Glencliff and NW.  Who would have guessed Overton would be as bad as they were. Gallatin is always a tough out and McGavock is down the road from them.  I am willing to bet that their schedule was made earlier than Whitehaven and that is why they did not get a week 10 game til late.

On another note, by living in the Boro I have seen every team play and have seen MJ play twice.  Most years I would say MJ would be hard pressed to compete with those teams due to talent, but this years team is different.  It would be a good game with MJ and any Boro school.  They are strong and physical.

Mt. Juliet hasn't played anybody. As long as our coaches have their head on straight, we win 24-23. We find a way to cut out the turnovers.

have you watched them play? I went to the Gallatin game and I wouldn't say Gallatin is a nobody. I guess if you want to think that then your entitled to it. I am sure Mj wants you to think they aren't very good and are soft.

By the way, you seem pretty disturbed with the coaching staff at WC. What's your deal with them?

I'm a parent/fan. I don't control consistency, beating rivals, or winning playoff games at Wilson Central. I simply support our program and my son. I'm not giving advice either. I'm simply stating that your non-district schedule is bad. Do you disagree?

Your a parent/ fan that bashes a coach on here. I guess if it makes you feel better about your life then so be it, but in my opinion it might be time to grow up.

Good luck to MJ this year. Hope to make some games this year with my son. Heard some good things in Bear country. Excited to see Coach White and Grah working together.

  9. Thanks for the update. It will be interesting where Raines will play. I didn't know if they have him at QB or RB. Sounds like it will be a good year for the Bears. I know Coach Turch will really be pushing the D line. He is one of the best I have seen with that position. The Bears always put a lot of work in the weight room. The coaches really push them there and Coach Grah is an excellent strength and conditioning coach as well as O line coach. I am excited to see what Coach White does with the O.

Good luck to Coach T and the Bears this year.

One of the parents said they had quite a few kids out during the scrimmage with track and baseball.  I dont know if Raines is one of those guys, but could be.

The D Line had speed and strength.  For a first scrimmage of the spring it was pretty impressive.

I and excited to see both White and Grah working together at MJ.  They played with my son back in the day and I absolutely love those kids.

  10. Noway; thanks for the update. Who is playing QB for the Bears? Any other specifics? I am also glad White is back at MJ.

Kisler your going to have to excuse me for not knowing names, but from what I saw MJ has 2 legit qb's both are dual threats. O had some good looking skill guys and a few running backs that looked pretty good. The first o line looked pretty darn good. They got major push vs raven wood d line. D is going to be stingy. A lot of good speed with 2 solid linebackers. Secondary is long. Could be a fun year. I am going to be honest and say you could tell MJ had been in the weight room. Hope this helps

  11. What I saw RW first group dominated MJ. RW youngest gave up a few.

Honestly, I don't know what you talking about or what your trying to pull, but I was there firsthand. Ravenwood moved the ball one time vs Mj to about the 35. Everything else was behind the 50. The only time MJ did not score was on their first series. It was 5 touchdowns to 0.

  12. MJ got smacked around yesterday. Looking like a big drop off from last year.

Haha you must have not been there.  They beat Ravenwood 35 to 0.  Offense moved the ball up and down the field and defense was pretty stout.  After the 1st series the defense didnt let Ravenwood cross the 50.

It was good to see some familiar faces also good to see White come back to MJ.

  13. Big things happening at Central right now. New blood at OC and DC. Kids are working harder than ever in the weight room. Keep sleepin on us.

I doubt anyone is sleeping on you with what you did until playoffs last year.  Congrats on getting your kids to work hard. Half the battle

  14. If the bus doesn't break down they win 8. I don't expect Central or Hendersonville to be more than average, Gallatin should be good but not unbeatable. This weak schedule will not prepare you for Blackman, Oakland, etc in the playoffs.

I don't know if they win 8, but it is a good possibility. I do agree when it comes playoff time... Who knows though.  Too early to tell.
