I know that in a game of this magnitude some ratchet-jawing & trash talking is going to happen. It's part of the game, in some cases, unfortunately. Would you care to elaborate on which T-Town coach was cussing an opposing player and what you think was said? The player I was referring to said some things that would make a sailor blush and we, the fans in the stands, could hear it. Those that were paying attention anyway.

giles co won a state championship last year. and lawrence co has been playing loretto for probably longer than cleavland has been in existence its a huge rilvary here

From seeing the film #40, #33, #6, #9, #24. These guys Late hit more than any players we have seen all year. Do they teach that or is it the only way you guys can win.

#40 is a venzuelan foreign exchange student kicker that hasnt touched the field. haha looks like yall need to watch film a little more and get your stuff straight. and its funny because im almost positive none of these players have been penalized for late hits

From what we heard you only cheap shot people after the whistle and spear people on the ground. I am sure people would be sore with hits like that.

Stink, Stank, Stunk..........right back at you phishy!! I read JVB123's post and admitted that if what he said was true then so be it. Then you go and hurt my feelings! That is not very nice. I am not even a Soddy Daisy fan but I am starting to understand how they feel with fans such as yourself! LCHS made it to the 2nd round last year and got beat by a very good Mitchell team and I guess the biggest win would have to be the Craigmont game last year due to the fact it was one of the schools first! The next biggest win will probably be Friday night against the 5AAA champs!!

especially since yall cant stop the run.. 312 yards from one guy is bad but one thing about the wing t is that there will be 2 maybe 3 players with those numbers. and one correction from earlier.... lc's defense is the strongest ive seen. tullahoma was the first team that really passed on them and it wasnt that bad a couple big pass plays helped them out. i can promise you that if cleavland watches the film from any of our games they will know that on saturday they are goin to be hurting... this defense will straight bust you in the mouth and then laugh at you after it. cleavland better get ready to get pounded on because thats whats going to happen.. final score lchs:27 chs:0

LCHS has an uphill battle.I don't think they were able or allowed to practice at all yesterday because of the weather.I'm sure Tullahoma was able to .

they were. drove by the practice field and they were hitting in the rain and through a mini tornado. dedication right there

Obviously, I've been out of the HS loop for some time now. But my sisters just got back from the Centennial at Lawrence County game. And they described a stretch of the game that...if true...is pretty disgusting. And I'm wondering if anybody on here was at the game to witness what happened.

 

This is what I WAS TOLD...

 

From what I heard, both teams were very chippy (some would say cheap) at the start. Well at some point, CHS's TJ Leach was carrying with the ball, when a Lawrence county defender grabbed him by the facemask, pulled his head all the way back, and then slammed onto TJ's back. Apparently TJ was badly hurt, and an ambulance was called onto the field.

 

Well apparently next, TJ's dad ran onto the field to check on his son. But before he could get to his son, the police ran after him, tackled him, and escorted him out of the stadium...WHILE HIS SON WAS LAYING ON THE GROUND SERIOUSLY INJURED. The CHS Coaches protested, but were apparently threatened with ejection as well. Well naturally, this didn't sit well with the fans, and they protested as well. Well all of Centennial's fans were then asked to leave the game...all while their friend, their teammate, their classmate...lay seriously injured on the field.

 

That was the version I got. Can anyone shed light on this? If this is true...that police force needs to be put under investigation. That just makes me sick.

talked to the officer myself, he said the fan came on the playing surface and was cussing out the refs about the alleged facemask(which was very very legal) and the refs called the sro officer out there they then escorted him out. what you have on your hands is a very twisted story. the students on the track taunting the lchs team needs to be punnished, that is rediculous behavior that looks bad on not only them but the whole high school, that either needs to be some sort of suspension or something alone. also, chs was probably one of the most cheap teams ive ever seen, they had it seemed like a dirty hit on a lchs player every play. poor sportsmanship out of chs, very disappointing. on the good side, great win for lawrence county love how they get after it

what does franklin county look like this year? havent heard much about them.

well from what i hear loretto is an okay football team this year. but of course lawrence county is a great team. should be interesting to watch..what do ya think?

I have just not had a very good week with my picks! I thought Columbia would dominate Tullahoma first and we probably all know how that turned out and now I went out on a limb and said L'burg would run away with this game! A runaway was way off the mark to say the least! If one would just look at the rushing yards and not at the score I would say yes it was indeed a runaway but when you look at the score I would have to say L'burg is dang lucky to just get the win! I am not positive of the total yards each team had but I would say it had to be almost 2 to 1 in favor of the Wilcats! I am not sure about this team. They seem to be a little flat! It appears they have a lot of talent but a true get in your face leader has not stepped forward. I know there were lots of distractions this week for this team with the loss of many of the kids close friend but that is no excuse for not focusing and getting the job at hand done. Lincoln County is a fine football team and I thought they did everything in their power to win this game and it is such a shame it had to end with a missed extra point! Lincoln County needs to keep their heads up and focus on Riverdale and Lawrence County needs to get their heads out of something! This L'burg team needs to figure out they are good and and preform to their ability! Who knows, maybe try putting the QB in a shotgun might give him a little more time? And maybe Lincoln County could try and disguise their plays a little more? Make it look like a run and throw it; make it look like a throw and pass! Just a thought! Very intense game to watch and both teams played extremely hard!!

I am going to have to call you on that comment. Several of the Lawrence County players lost a very good friend and a family member to the tragedy that happened earlier in the week. While I agree sometimes distractions should be pushed through, This is one that is not easily pushed through. You need to remember that these are kids not grown men, and I am quite certain you are not aware of all the details of this weeks events and the situation some of these kids are in.

You certainly got us on that one. The air conditioned practices do help. Having our hour & a half practices in the heat could get sweaty. I also like the way the boys only practice in shorts all week. It cuts down on the chance of injures. Our bobcat is named Mr. Bigglesworth & Austin Powers provides us with the secret weapons we have. One is on Wednesday & Thursdays the boys have yoga sessions with Big Joe. It has a calming effect that keeps them from being violent.

sounds like a great gameplan....must have took that angle from the team in cookeville from how they played. hope it works for yall jus like it did for them

Lawrence county straight beasted on a murphy fair #8 pic hendersonville. The deffense stopped them time and time again. The defense will be lawrence countys strong point this season and just like you said volcat offensive line is our weak point but is showing improvement everyday. Just be looking for our new forein exchange student from germany. He kicked 5 60 yard field goals on his first day.

well i played against the 09 lincoln county team and i do not recall a huge and fast line. but i hope the best for lincoln county and cant wait for that exciting game in lawrenceburg. is the qb goin to be a 2 year starter?

I think most folks are already counting Lincoln County out of the top spot, but that might be a mistake.Lincoln County had 3 returning starters on last years team, so that left a lot of their team from last year without any playing experience. their schedule was probley the toughest 1st halfe schedule in Tennessee, where they done poorly, but they got experience real quick, and came on the second half of the season. The 2010 team has only lost 3 starters from last year, one on the O line, one full back, and a defensive end. You will see a much bigger, and stronger line on both sides of the ball, and more talent coming from this years team, than any from a long time. Will Coach Thompson Retire? I don't think so this season, because he know's what he has, but I do think he will retire after winning a State champianship this season. you may think that is far fetched, but I can not see anyone stopping the Falcons this year.

Lawrence County lost several good players to graduation,however,They have an outstanding group of seniors returning.Whoever wins the wek 0 game between them and columbia will win the district.

lc did lose alot of good players. but they will be no push over in 2010. the defense will be very stout. they return 3 starters in the secondary 2 starters at linebacker an a very experienced defensive line. and with the vaunted wing T attack on offense there is no tellin how dangerous the cats can be next year. an i agree the columbia lc game in week 0 will be one of the biggest games of the year

No problem Catbacker. You are right. If Emmanuel Andrews went into the stands, that was unprofessional. I did not see that. I know one player tried to take some shots at a LCHS student and I separated them. Several people said the Shelbyville coach shoved an LCHS cheerleader. What else does anyone know about this incident?

Well i know one thing is for sure.. a rivalry was born tonight. i just hope in the future the SCHS administration does something to repremend andrews so we can keep the game on the court
