  1. Meigs gross rushing was 188 yards, meaning Central's run defense got gashed pretty good from a teriible team.  Meigs lost over 80 yards in sacks trying to pass the ball which gave the misleading 100 rushing yards for the Tigers. Other than Meigs only victory over first yr. program Sale Creek, Meigs hasn't been anywhere near 188 gross rushing yards this season. I remind you again that Meigs best running back didn't play against Central. I'm not a Meigs fan and I don't dislike Central, I'm just posting the truth.

Did you even see this game plane? How many 1st down came off the run for Meigs? You can talk about a weak secondary for MC but not the D line. Ask polk county if you don't beleive central has a strong run defence, I'm sure big number 35 would agree MC D line is tough to run on. Talk is cheap anyway, But really, where did you get your data.

  2. To say Central is coming in with alot to prove, would be a under statement. I believe everyone knew the Chargers had to be a much improved team from the pass couple years but just how good they'll be is anyones guess. Attitude will play a large part of how this team does. I predict a overall winning season and a win Friday about 24 to 14. Go Blue

  3. Tomorrow night will tell us alot about what to expect for this year. Not only will we see the Chargers in action but we'll get to see how the rest of the district looks. I know I'm encouraged after the scrimmage at Bradley. If the coaches will only use what they learned to make some changes, we could be a contender for the district. Now before everyone starts rolling in hysterical laugher, consider the rest of the district at present. We certainly have a chance. We have the talent if they are used properly and if we can keep away from injuries and penalties.

The back field is solid, the D-line too. We have size and speed enough to compete against anyone in the district. I feel our depth and secondary may cause us some trouble so we'll need some young players to step up.

Again, we all know it's do or die for the coach so he'll do all he can to make sure we win. Good Luck Chargers, I think we can go from 1-9 to 9-1.

  4. Who was number 77 on O-Line for Bradley. Really big good looking kid but our DE #17 was really making him look, well, not to good let's say. I really believe Bradley thought they could rest during the time they were up against the Chargers.

  5. Ok, after the scrimmage Saturday I have to say maybe another jr should have some attention, RB #32 Johnson looked good. Boyd could not attend the scrimmage because of a family issue but he didn't seem to be missed much. DE #17 had Bradley QB scrambling and a good stop on the RB for a lose. FB #11 Barnett looked strong too.

  6. I know I may be biased somewhat because McMinn Central was the team I went to see, but from my perspective, the Chargers gave as good as they got, especially with the run game. The back field needs the most work, DBs got beat way to much but we moved the ball on the ground really well. Also, we defended the run well. The Chargers stopped Bradely for a lose a couple of times and the QB was nearly sacked twice.

  7. McMinn Central has a couple or three juniors that will get alot of attention this year if they can string togather a few wins. If Boyd can stay healthy he'll put up some big numbers and a couple of juniors on defense looks really good but we'll have to wait to see if they can make a difference. Look at MLB position and DE see what you think.

  8. Good week of two-a-days with the D-line coming out on top for Central as far as where they look the best. The biggest concern still has to be around the passing game on both sides, offense and defense. I think maybe a couple of changes may take place after the Bradley scrimmage Saturday. Anyone else have an opinion?

  9. That is great ( the Super Dad thing.)

I played for Coach Hart several years ago. He is a knowledgeable coach and was a pretty good one at the time. I understand what you are talking about with the screaming, but at least he knows what's going on during the game. I prefer a coach who is passionate and intense about his players' games to one who has to be persuaded by the stands to appeal an obvious call because he is clueless. ( yes I have seen this happen on several occassions- and the appeal has won on a few of those.)

It sounds like this is a young team. That does not make a bad coach. Give them a couple of years and see how they grow.

Great comments, this is what a post on Coach-T is all about, to get some folks interested in the program. I love baseball and the Big Blue, we all want a championship team every year but we really can't expect that unless you are Coach Morgan and his Chargerettes. How does he do this??? Anyway BLUE is still my favorite color. The team will be better next year, yes much better.

  10. The season is over for Central baseball, I know we still have a few games left on the schedule but the boys seem to have lost the will to win. "Why" is the question? The "young team" excuss only goes so far and right now it appears the team is beat down and ready to just get it over with. The team had to play a ridiculous schedule which only helped to wear them down. I geuss I'm just wondering how to "look forward" to next year. Anyone have an encouraging word out there.

  11. Im saying CHEIFS all the way in this one. Sequoyah has STATE on there mind and nothing else, good luck stopping them

Having seen both, the major difference that stands out is the hitting. The Cheifs do seem to have the better bats. Polk has a very good pitcher but not sure if they have two. Sequoyah on the other hand does have two good pitcher which will help when the state run starts. I believe both are well coached which sometimes means more than the overall team talent level. The distract will be well represented by either team.

I geuss the Chargers will have to wait another year to see if they can get it togather. Lots of young talent for them if the coach can just get the team to come togather.

  12. Haven't heard anything about Hart "hanging it up", but I have to say this, I know it's early in the season but to take a team this young with no seniors and start out 4-1 is a pretty good bit of coaching, especially seeing the way they looked early on in their scrimmages.
