You were looking at the wrong list. Here is the final list. Anybody know someone to send it to for consideration?

  2. i dont see how you put Nantambu at running back over Corn, and I as a BA fan doesn't understand the appeal of Derek King.

This season he has no been impressive and has shown signs of quitting on his team. In the Ensworth game this past week he left the game with some sort of "injury" and wasnt in the game for the biggest defense series of the year, where his backup got burnt on 3rd and 33. He also got burnt earlyer in the game and a 3rd and 22 when Ensworth was deep in their own territory. I think he has fantastic potential for the next level but in my opinion he has not shown all-state potential this season.

Two of your guys received the Mr. Football award today in Huesman from Baylor and Dickinson from MUS. I think the list you have is pretty spot on and reprentative of the league. You should submit it to the press or ask Coach T to. Good luck.

  3. For the most part from watching all the Youtube Highlights of Ridgeways games, they are playing cupcake after cupcake pretty much until last week. Hendersonville is no cupcake, especially if they play as they did vs Henry County. Should be a great game with a great atmosphere.

Special teams will be big for the commandos. With the low line drive punts as well as short kickoffs it could set up some good field position. If the big line of Hendersonville can control the quick penatrating D-line the Commandos could have a great night on the ground. And if Hunter Brown can control his passes it could open up even more of the run game.

Defensivly the Commandos will be challenged all night by the quick RB's from Ridgeway. They must wrap up every tackle as well as force some TO's. Its going to be a dogfight in the trenches.

Good Luck Commandos and practice hard this week!

Ridgeway gave MUS all they wanted in this year's scrimmage. Only lost by a td. I think Ridgeway is for real and will win out State this year.

  4. I haven't seen Whitehaven play, but it seems that they are really rolling right about now. How will Smyrna do playing outside of Middle Tennessee. Will Smyrna respect Da 'Haven? :thumb:

Whitehaven has good size but they are not as good as WhiteStation was. Maryville should handle them based on coaching alone.

  5. Whitehaven 50 Germantown 0. Respect the Haven

I think Whitehaven is a good team but they are not as good as White Station was last year. They don't have a Hayes or Burton on that team. They have nice size as they held their own against MUS in this year's scrimmage but they need to play smart if they are going to win it all this year.

  6. Alright..Here goes!!!

Ridgeway has a very talented qb and not one but two outstanding tb's. Still, the problem exists in the kicking game. Now as for predicting a score, I don't know if NS is going to line up in two te's as they did with Dyer or go with their spread. R;way loaded the box against Hardin when they showed two tight and literally dared Hardin to throw..(They did for 2 quick tds). Nevertheless, I will repeat myself..the lack of a solid kidking game will be the difference (scoring and field position) and will favor the Indians. With all that in mind....JNS 28 - R'way 19

I think you guys missed the guy from Jackson saying the Ridgeway kicking game would cause them to lose, LOL!

  7. Div II-AA West deserves more respect when handing out all-state recognition. CBHS didn't earn a 9-1 record and #1 seed in the West without consistent play from LB Stephen Varnado, DB Austin Bennett, and RB Ryan Eason. Their balance on both sides of the ball will be a determining factor in the playoffs over the next few weeks, not to mention home field advantage at Tom Nix Stadium. GO PURPLE WAVE!

I think the Brentwood QB Hamby would be a solid pick as well but it would be tough to replace him against Huesman from Baylor. Loved Woody Baron against MUS the other night however the MUS looked very solid on the offensive side of the ball. Ben Still and Conner Caruthers looked the part and Henry Dickenson on Defense for MUS is about it. Toby Baker needs another year to develop. He should go to some camps this summer. He has the tools to become a D-1 prospect next year.

  8. Nice job Eagles! You just beat the defending state champs and the state champ 4 out of the last 6 years.

On to the University of Ensworth this Friday for a rematch.

The key will be to keep #15 below 100 yds rushing. (only 66 yds in 1st game).

Force EHS into the passing game.

Very impressed with Brentwood last night. Nothing really special about them, they were just a well coached team with a lot of team speed. That was one of the worst defense performances from an MUS team I think I have seen in a long time. Just really poorly coached for this game. Two weeks to prepare and you get 42 put on you in the first. There is just no excuse for that. Congrats to Brentwood and good luck to you the rest of the way. Memphis teams really laid an egg this year.

  9. Ensworth never accepted. They where contacted, as was MUS. No DII was willing to play Alcoa and Maryville til they where offered $3500 to play. This week 0 bowl game was put together by Maryville and Alcoa's AD's after having scheduling difficulties.

I already feel sorry for MBA.............Maryville will has a unreal team next season!

Just contacted one of the coaches at MUS and they said they were never contacted by anyone to play Alcoa or Maryville. Not sure where you heard that rumor. Do you really think MUS needs money to play someone?

  10. This sounds great... kudos to all 4 teams for working this out!

Yep rumor has it they have and Knox Webb could take their place. What in the world is Ensworth's problems. I wish they would ask MUS to play them. I am sure they would trade South Panola for Alcoa all day long.

  11. This is from Rivals:

Couple big Tennessee games nearing completion Reply

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ink is all but dried on these games, both to be played in East Tennessee.

MBA to play Maryville and Enworth to play Alcoa to kickoff 2011 - at Maryville.

MBA will play Alcoa and Ensworth will play Maryville to kickoff 2012 - at Alcoa.

    -DJ

  12. Yes. Harrison Martin, the middle linebacker from MUS was on the ballot last year. And I believe the lineman award went to Jonathan Brown from CBHS. Linebackers are considered lineman for this ballot. I would not be surprised to see a few of them on there this year.

From what my eyes have seen this year and I have seen every team play except for BGA, McCallie, and Father Ryan.

    Backs - QB-Jacob Huesman-Baylor

    RB-Corn Elder-Ensworth

    DB-Derek King-BA

    OL-Antonio Richardson-Ensworth

    DL Matt Murphy - CBHS

    OL-Conner Caruthers-MUS

  13. A two-deep All-state roster would include about every starter in DII, I guess?

You boys over in Alcoa are pretty smart, let's see there are 10 teams in DII so yeah 2 deep would include every starter. Stick to counting widgets in the Alcoa factory with all your Kentucky recruits. What an idiotic thing to say from someone who thinks their little 2A team could compete in the Big Boy League.

  14. Some think Still hasn't played up to his potential yet. Well, he's "still" only a Junior

The MUS Center, Conner Caruthers and Ben Still at Right Guard opened up some big time holes for MUS. Watched it on DVR and those two are a very good combination. Why in the world MUS didn't take advantage of that more, especially with 3 minutes left in the game instead of those sideline passes cost them the game. They could have run at will but for some reason the Offensive Cordinator chose to pass and basically leave a lot of time for CBHS to score. Give it CBHS for taken advantage of it and winning the ball game. MUS was out coached Friday night.

  15. Yeah, that first punt was...60 yards or something crazy like that? That was insane! Other than field goals, their kicking was amazing.

Just watched this game on the DVR as I was out of town and could not attend. Congrats to CBHS for a hard fought win and just a good clean game between two evenly matched teams. MUS made a few costly error's and also could not score 2 times inside the CBHS 5 yard line. You can't expect to win the game doing that. That MUS line is pretty dang good and MUS should have ran the ball more then make those sideline passes. CBHS has a pretty stout defense that came up with some good plays. Congrats to both teams, maybe a possible re-match is in the cards in the playoffs.

  16. With only 3 returning starters, the loss of one of them, Ericson, has hurt MUS a lot. I noticed that he has dressed out a number of games but has not played a lot. Do you know the nature of his injury and when/if he will be at 100%?

Hearing his shoulder keeps popping out when he makes a hit. I don't think he dressed out this past game and heard he is done for the year according to one of the coaches I spoke with. They have a young sophmore starting at middle which is hard to fill the shoes of Harrison Marting from the past few years. They really miss him the most but Dickinson has looked very good this year when have seen him.

  17. Yes, it is going to be on the "Ya'll vs. Them" game of the week. I think MUS is still the team to beat in the west. We (CBHS) had a tough win last night. Briarcrest is very good, they lost their stud QB at the half with a broken collar bone. It was a crazy game, clock problems at odd times, fight, tough battle. They have a good excuse for this loss, but we will take it. I feel bad for thier QB, he looked very impressive and we didn't stop them in the first half, 20-14 at half........but thats why they play two halves. 21-20 brothers.

Good job last night, I went to the Whitehaven game and was impressed with the Murphy kid. He is agressive and strong. I think the MUS game will be a very good defensive battle. I think you guys can handle the MUS run pretty easy as their backs are very small.

  18. I am pretty sure that is Still playing Center for MUS. I think your contact got a little confused.

Also, Dickinson could not have singed as of yet. Committed yes, but not signed. I am not so sure that the SEC school are going to swoop in and offer late either. At this point, Illinois is his only offer.

I would move Still back on the OL list. Jordan Wilkins from SBA should be on it, bc that kid is a special athlete. Hard to put the trio from Briarcrest on there when they have yet to win a meaningful game. With putting 4 DB's on that list, Alex Dale of MUS is in contention. I agree with the early poster about MUS QB/P Baker for the Punter position. Kid has punted well.

No they moved Still from Center and put Caruthers there from Tackle after the South Panola Game. Since the move, the line play for MUS has been much improved. Alex Dale needs a year, he just needs more time back there as he was flamed last night and missed a few tackles. Toby Baker is a DI punter. Dickinson is a stud and I think the SEC at least MS State will come calling, I know Vandy has at least that is what one of the coaches have said. Still should probably be on there but has not shown much all year really. He should be dominating out there. I like the fight that Caruthers kid is showing but MUS really needs a bigger running back. The two kids they have back there now are so small that they are easy to bring down. I went to their game last night and they held the Wilkin boys in check except for a kick off return. I am going to try and go to their game next week against CBHS but I think it may be on TV. Good luck.

I like this team alot. Good job man.

  20. They stalk anybody at all sites who doesn't worship at their temple. If you are truly aware of this history, you would know that this is the first time I've started a topic. You would also know that these "folks" (there are @ 5 of them) continually demean my team anytime and anywhere even though I and nobody at my school have ever demeaned their team. This year the topic arose on a 6A Memphis site about MUS being "down" this year. They all swarmed to it to ridicule MUS and boast about Alcoa being "up." Totally classless. One even started posting on a 3A/4A site complete lies about what I had said in order to stir up others. This all started last year when I dared to post on their "Is Alcoa the best team in the state in any classification" site that they and MUS were only "two of the best five."

I read on the other sites but refrain from sticking in my 2 cents worth about something I know nothing about or that has nothing to do with my team, I never demean another team, and I would never try to change the subject to my own team, all of which is exactly what the children at Alcoa do. Nobody has to "stalk" these brats, because they insert themselves into all the boards. For a classic albeit rather subdued recent example, check out post #16 by "bladerunner" (a "lone wolf" NOT a member of the "brat pack") on the topic "who wins 6A state championship" in the 5A/6A thread. The big surprise is that the rest of "the usual suspects" didn't follow his lead and turn the site into another place of worship to the great and all-powerful "F5" Tornado.

I have no dog in the hunt but that MUS team last year was the best in Tennessee in at least the past 10 years. Dallas from Rivals also said the same thing. Alcoa would have been waxed by them but I am not going overthere saying that. You just can't reason with anyone there.

How is that looking so far?

Looks pretty good but you may have too many middle Tenneesse guys on there. Two you should add would be Trey Becton receiver for Briarcrest, he has signed with Southern Miss and Hunter Long at tackle he has signed with Georgia. On Defense on the line you should add Matt Murphy of Christian Brothers. Good Luck with your list.

  22. Is Ericson an MUS LB, also where is Caruthers in school? I have not heard much from him.

Yeah Ericson is a LB for MUS who has been out hurt all year. But dickinson is the stud LB who is probably the best LB in all the State. He signed with Illinois already but will most likely get offers from SEC schools before it is all over. The Caruthers kid plays Center for MUS and the East High Coach told me he was the best he has seen but not sure if he has any offers yet.

  23. Big Ens....now Coach Bowers does deserve some credit. The school has done remarkable for only competing for 4 years. I think making the Wade hire was a sign that "he doesn't know it all" and has "swallowed some pride"...All coaches have an ego, if not they would not be coaching......For the record, Coach Bowers is 32-7 at Ensworth in football. And in basketball at Ensworth, he's already won 1 state title. Could they have won it last year? Sure. But MBA was also a great team.

Good to see them get better as the season progresses. Not so sure they would have done any better against MUS last year. The guy from Rivals says that MUS teams was one of the best he has seen in 10 years. Going 13-0 with that schedule last year was pretty impressive. Good luck to Ensworth in the playoffs this year.
