  1. Clownshoes does not reflect the views of anyone from this area,so please disregard anything else this idiot post.GC is a young team with a bright future. They handled themselves in a very mature way throughout the entire game. That is hard to do when your not playing your best and the other team is playing really well. That says alot about the coaching staff for GC.Keep up the good disciplined work and the rest will take care of itself.Hope you all found Cw to be a good host and hope you all found some good restaurants in the area.

  2. Congratulations to the Cw Redhawks on District championship and District tournament championship.

Played great basketball all year.Congrats also to coach Taylor on an outstanding coaching job,and getting coach of the year. Also congrats must go out to Greenbrier Bobcats on winning 9aa championship.I must also send out congrats to Perry county for winning 12a championship. Both of these teams are very good.Oh by the way Creek Wood beat both of these teams twice each, all wins by double digits.I believe (the great) Sycamore is in Greenbriers district and they lost to Gb 2 out of 3.So thanks to these teams for winning or CW would not have beaten anyone good all year.

  3. I agree about Central being the team to beat next year. They have the most experienced players returning, and the post season success they are having should make them stronger next year. Creek Wood will probably be better tha most people think because they do have some good players that dont get much playing time but like ruger said they practice every day against Dotson and Hyndman. However I dont think Clements could score 20 in a game of 36 against anyone.

Clemlawn,I agree with you most of the time but you are dead wrong about Clements. He has had some

really big scoring nights this year.He will only get better. He will most likely Lead CW in scoring

    next year.Dont be a hater

  4. Creek Wood will be strong again next year. They are losing a lot but they also have

some really good young players with size.. These guys have went against Hyndman

and Dotson all year in practice and have improved a lot.Their guard play will probably

be their biggest strength with Clements and Bybee returning. Both of these guys can

get 20 a night.District will be very competitive next year but until then keep on

rolling Redhawks. Its been a great season no matter what happens from this point on.

  5. well while we have some down time in the district due to snow, which players will be in the first and second all district teams?

    First team:

    Kyle Herndon-Camden

    Vincent Dotson-CW

    Aaron Hyndman-CW

    Justin Vogel-Waverly

    Trevor Moore-MC

    Second Team:

    Justin Weed-Camden

    Austin Clements-CW

    Coty Crow - CW

    Drew Smart-Cheatham

    Dantario Dansby- Harpeth

Some of these players could be swapped to either team...really some evenly talented players.Left some

really good players off.My honorable mention group would be.

    Crowe-Harpeth

    Craig-Stewart

    Smith-Waverly

    Deason-CW

Centrals big post-cant think of his name

Co-Mvp- Hyndman/Dotson- Be hard to give award to a player on a team with losing record.

  6. That doesn't surprise me at all clemlawn. Coach Taylor has always represented Creek Wood with class and the tribute they've given to a fallen teammate the last 3 years has not gone unnoticed. I want to say here too that I've enjoyed Aaron Hyndman's basketball career. He's a classy young man that I've noticed not only at Creek Wood games, but he was there to support Harpeth last year in their sectional game at David Lipscomb and is a great ambassador for our district. Thanks Aaron!

    Good luck next week everybody!

Thanks KS..Things like last night at CW really puts things in

perspective.Chase will always be remembered here at CW.He

was a great kid..Also thanks for the reflection on Hyndman. This

means a lot coming from a True Harpeth supporter..We must

remember these players are just kids, it doesnt matter where they

are from..things written on here can really be hurtful to these

kids..So lets keep our passion for our teams and try not be to

    derogatory towards any kid. Thanks

  7. :| Dang! Another 20 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

For all the smack talk and 'my favorite player is better than your favorite player', I think howdoitknow hit the nail on the head. Creekwood isn't getting much competition from the rest of the district and Cheatham (so far), hasn't been very competitive. The matchups in the middle have been pretty exciting to watch, but it doesn't bode well for anyone in our district when the talent level is where it is. Thankfully, we're not going west in regions anymore and can probably compete in the southern middle Tennessee region.................and that's not going to bode very well for the region champion in substate.

We are no where near where we need to be as a district heading into the stretch run. "Merely missing shots" isn't going to cut it.

You are right KS. district is way down and this can only hurt our teams as we go forward. we

need to work harder as a whole because competition breeds excellence.Alot of really good coaching

in this district, but lower level basketball needs to improve. We just have to work harder as coaches

    and players.

  8. Well all of you CW supporters need to get a grip. If you read my post I said CW had a very good team and said that Hyndman was a very good player. But I stand by what I say with the attitude. I'm not the only one who feels that way. I heard and talked to a lot of people after the game who said the very same thing. I'm sure he is a very good kid, but on the court he needs to listen to his coach when being talked to and not walk away grinning like he knows everything about basketball. Coach Taylor is a fantastic coach and I think he would benefit greatly when he is trying to teach him things. I could care less who wins MVP but I've seen all the teams in the district and my opinion is that Vogel is by far the best player in the district. He's a very good kid too. And yes he did great at Cheatham but he has done great against most teams we play. Sorry if I ruffled feathers but just making an observation. Congratulations to Creek Wood and good luck to them in the future.

Oh by the way, when Waverly surrounded Hyndman under basket is because Waverly was having to guard him with players 5-6 inches shorter. When Smith was in, he guarded him one on one. Also, Vogel guarded him some one on one and Vogel is at least 4 inches shorter. Arguing won't settle things, I'm sure that Hyndman is a great kid, just wish he would listen to his coach.

Im not sure how tall your big man is but I believe he is actually taller than Hyndman. Not 6

inches shorter. Once again facts are wrong.Seeing a trend here.I will say this ,I guarantee you

CW coaches would love for Waverly to play Hyndman man to man all night. It wouldnt be

pretty for Waverly. Why didnt Wav. swap who was guarding Hyndman...He was killing yall all

night.Scoring and rebounding.Put your big guy on him...lets see what happens..You know

so much about Wav. basketball see if you can arrange that with coach Rawlins.Vogel is a

very good player and seems to be a good kid so lets leave the character attacks out

of this.Good luck to Vogel And Wav...They are a well coached team..They play the game

the right way as does CW.If Vogel wins MVP he will be very deserving. If Hyndman does it will be the same. CW has much higher goals than an individual awards. They really mean nothing to

    this team.

18 pts. is really good, but not killing anyone. Our post is about same height but he wasn't in all night. When he was, he guarded him one on one. The other times they doubled him with kids 5-6 inches shorter. Where you at the game?

Yea I was at the game,I obviously had a better seat than you because all of your little

assumptions are way wrong. The Wav.big man never guarded Hyndman all night. The only

time Vogel guarded Him was in a transition situation. We are not a one man team so 18 points is a really good night for a CW player. Also Hyndman probably had 15 rebounds. There are other ways to dominate a game other than scoring. Its not CW fault your big man wasnt in the game. He wasnt in foul trouble so where was he.As I said in my previous post, see if you can get coach Rawlins to guard Hyndman or Dotson one on one all night. If you can arrange that Im sure CW coaches would appreciate it tremendously. So in closing, I was at the game and if CW And wav.are fortunate enough to meet

again this year i will be there.Cant wait.Hyndman plays with emotion and fire.Thats the way hes been

coached, thats not going to change.Basketball is an emotional sport, the players are not robots.Hyndman

does not disrespect his coaches and never has.Im not a Wav hater, actually like there kids.So good luck

    to yall.

  10. CW is the best team in the district and did win tonight over Waverly by 14-16 but it was a tight game all the way. In fact Waverly only down by 2 late in the third qtr. Their posts are good but not great. The difference tonight was Coach Taylor having someone following Justin Vogel everywhere he went. His defender never left him but he still managed 16 pts. Vogel hands down is the MVP of the District. If I were Coach Taylor I would do an attitude adjustment on Hyndman. Coach Taylor would give him advice and he would just grin and walk off. Hyndman is good but not great. He shoots well on the inside but has no outside game. A really good post would eat him for lunch. All this talk about him being MVP is exagerated. He is not close to being an MVP other than in his eyes it seems.

You have lost your mind papatiger. Anyone at that game tonight could see

Hyndman was best player on floor. He had 18,while being guarded by the entire

Wav. team. At least 3 Wav. players on him all night. I believe he hit two outside jumpers

on yall. I didnt see Vogel posting up.Does that mean he has no inside game. As for

getting him against a good post,he has played against many good post and more

than held his own. As for his attitude he has a great attitude. Has never given Coach Taylor

any trouble. As for Vogels attitude,He wouldnt even shake CW players hands when

he went through the line. Terrible sportsmanship. Hyndman probably gets about 12 shots

a night. Vogel takes probably 25 to 30. Padded his numbers against Cheatham

when they were up 35. Hyndman has double digit rebounds every night.Vogel

might have had two tonight.Vogel is a good player but needs to realize there

are other things besides shooting...... So the next time you are going to call

another player out for attitude, start with your own team.Espically when the

player your calling out has no attitude. Plays with alot of fire, nothing more.

  11. CW has a chance to be really good. There guard play has been outstanding the last

mont or so. In fact it probably is a strength. Austin Clements(junior)has been raining

threes on everyone. He has really taken his game to next level. Coty Crow is passing the ball

like Steve Nash. Playing great. CW has three players coming off the bench that would

start for any other team in district. I havent even mentioned the two best players in

district(Hyndman,Dotson),they can dominate game from many perspectives. Both are

great rebounders. Both can get 18 to 20 at any time. And unlike a lot of great players

they play hard even when they dont get a lot of touches. They dont pout and complain,

they just continue to work.Dist. is down but not CW.Easily best team in Cw short history.

Coaches will continue to push these guys. Really fun to watch this bunch.Coaching

staff has done great job with this bunch.

Last nights game against Harpeth was awesome. The intensity the Cw bunch played

    with was incredible.

  12. thank you ksgovols. finally someone is making sense and being completely sensible! The Harpeth Camden game was indeed a 32 min beat down. With that kind of play Harpeth can beat anyone in the district.

Speaking of 32 min.beat downs Creek Wood put one on Harpeth tonight.Won by 30, played

mostly Jv the last quarter. Could have been 40 or 50 but CW Called off the dogs.Looks like

Harpeth better get more of "that kind of play" if they are going to beat CW.If Cw had left their

starters in Harpeth may not have gotten to 25.CW defense is amazing..

  13. the waverly tigers defeated the montgomery central indians last night in overtime 71-67. the indians were leading by @ least 16 last night in the 3rd. the tigers came back and took a 6 point lead in the late 4th, montgomery tied it with 4.6 seconds left, and then justin vogel took over!!! he had 8 points in overtime, 33 overall. Kudos to #23 from central last night he is by far the best player in the district, that is close to vogel, I can't wait to watch him again B) !!! good luck to everyone!!!!

Glad yall saw a good game but I have to disagree with your last statement.. The two post (Hyndman and Dotson)from Creek Wood are the best two players in the district. There isnt a close second

to either of these players.I guess CW has dominated the district the past two years with

smoke and mirrors.Nothing against the players you mentioned but just not in same class as the two

CW players. If CW only had only Hyndman he would average 25 a night.. If they only had Dotson

he would average 25..Both are easily the best two rebounders in district. Both pass the ball

well for big men. Both block shots. If you put either of these players on any other team they

would instantly become district favorite along with CW since CW would still have the other one..

You can not do that with any other player(s)in the district..

  14. You are right conman.. Cheatham is very young and inexperienced, there is no way

that they can beat a very experienced CW team. Cheatham is definately getting better

and should be competitive in the near future. But as of now they could play CW 100 times

and probably lose 100 times. CW is that much better. It wouldnt have mattered what the

coaches might have done, they would have still lost.CW is better at every position.

  15. Last night went pretty much as expected..Big win for MC against Harpeth. The big

shocker to me was the beat down Waverly gave Stewart. Thought Stewart was

much better than that..CW was a little out of sync early because of not playing

for 2 weeks. Got going a little after first qtr.

  16. Not real up to date on Harpeth Basketball but noticed they are still

winless.Does anyone know whats happened to Harpeth.I know they

lost Carruthers but still didnt expect this much of a drop-off. Sycamore

may have took their hearts with two early blowouts. They still should beat

Cheatham.Does anybody know if Horkins quit?

  17. C.W should kill Cheatham by at least 30. Harpeth could get their first

win of the year. Stewart will pull out a close game with Waverly.District

is really down with the exception of CW.CW is loaded and their guard play

is greatly improved.Good luck to all....
