Columbia won @ segial 2-0 I have no details as of yet, seen it on another thread
-
i AGREE TOTALLY WINGMAN! LOL

Tyner by what I hear is pretty Big and a great team. Lewisburg is scrappy and can shoot the long ball, but a little undersized to match-up with Tyner. Kedron Johnson is on the big stage for the first time and I have seen him play 4 or 5 times this year. If he can have a 40 point game and carry his team, could be an upset in the making!

Columbia is not really getting a good chance but, I can see this being a good game if they gameplan right. English and Parks both have to have great games on both ends for it to be a chance but Defense is going to be the key for them. When they do buckle down on defense they are hard to score on, but they have not seen a Joe Jackson player and they have 2 other top notch players, If white station is off, its a good game, if they are on, then it will be hard for Columbia to match up. I wouldnt mind seeing the upset here!
-
I dont think Columbia guys are quite 6'6 and 6'9...lol they have a 6'5 6'4 and two 6'2 and they all are very long. James English and Domino Parks are they go to players who have to play good for them to have a chance. They do have a great supporting cast in Hamlett, Goff, Christmon, and #22. This can be a upset team if they are looked pasted. My pick to pull a very big upset if they play basketball and have their inside/out game working.

There is always one hater to swing by a thread...im taking it that your team is done....

Just wanted to give Columbia some love, this is a game that really worried me with the high power and quick pace that Cleveland brung to the table, but Columbia mad adjustments and went out and play basketball. If you would have told me Columbia would be without English and Parks with almost 3 min left in the game and WIN, I would have laughed, but everyone else stepped up and played big! Congrats to you all and rep the District 8AAA well in the state!

Columbia is pretty good, but i believe yall will win. I know they are athetic. one player is about 6'4. They definetly have some perimeter shooters but when SH played them, we were beating them by 15 at the half and they came out in the second half and beat us by 8 or so. I believe SH ran a full court press for a while which flustered them in the first half.
I think the Columbia Cleveland game will be a great match-up depending on which Columbia team steps foot off the bus. If the semi-finals team that played Oakland shows it, Cleveland will have a tough time, But if the region final team that played againist Segial shows up, Cleveland will end Columbia season in blow out Fashion. Should be a up pace game and a fun game to watch. English and Parks must both show up to even have a chance!!! And just to speak about that spring hill game, I happen to be there and itwas not a press that flustered Columbia(They killed that) it was the 2-3 Zone, but Columbia is good @ making adjustments and found a way to win the game. Really wish I could make it to support 8AAA...

I watched Hammonds vs Lawrence Co. and he is def no where near 100%...Columbia has long players like Parks and Hamlet(I think thats who you mean, Harlen in the gaurd #20) that play great defense. Gooch will be the factor and who Columbia needs to contain along with Williams on the block. Dont get me wrong, Hammonds is a game changer, but @ 70% or so, Columbia can def handle him.
-
Just like I thought, 2 GREAT GAMES last night! Segial got a great win....and with all due respect, Lawrence Co. lost that game. they rushed 2 shots in o.t. that they end up missing and gave segial 2nd chances that they capitalized on. Hammonds still doesnt look 100% @ all, but had 22 pts. still finding a way to get buckets.
Columbia shocked many with their win last night. They played great basketball 1st 2nd 4th qrt, but almost gave it away in the 3rd. Hughes put his oakland teammates on his back in the second half, but came up short. English and Parks stepped up as leaders and took Columbia to the win. English is playing great basketball as that was his 3rd straight 20 plus point game I believe. Harlen was great on defense even tho he is overlooked, he brings great energy on that end of the court.
FINALS
Columbia vs. Seigal
Im going:
Columbia 67
Seigal 63
WHAT YOU THINK??????
-
Yes oakland is very impressive, when I seen them earlier this season Brown was a non-factor but I seen here lately he has been playing good basketball. Looking forward to a great game, Really feel and taking nothing away from the other 2 teams, that the winner of this game will host the sub-state sat! TOURNEY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
2 very good match-ups:
Columbia vs. Oakland
Lawrence Co. vs Seigal
Columbia made some key adjustments from the district tourney lost and looked really good Saturday. There defensive intensity was sky high and James English is finally showing he can score @ will and lead his team. Oakland is a very strong discipline team. J.Hughes is as good as they come and has a very good supporting cast to go alone with him. Really looking forward to this game...Im saying Columbia will break the string of letting Oakland send them home for the year....Columbia 57 55
Lawrence Co is clicking on all aspects of the game right now, lights out shooting, great defense, great coaching. Garland is playing mvp basketball and leading his team. Seigal on the other hand is not @ 100% and hearing that Hammonds has been a non-factor since returning. They are still a very good ball club that can give Lawrence Co. fits with there size! But im gonna have to go with the hot hand...Lawrence Co. 60 52
Just my opinion fellas...whats yours???

Whats a great game last night...LC really jumped out on Columbia early but Columbia showed very good fight in making it a Game...Garland was def the game changer last night, Columbia had no answer for him and Brink+ #23( i think) was lights out from the 3. James English finna showed that he could take over a game in bringing the Lions back, but was too little, too late. Good luck to both teams, hope to see part 4 of Columbia vs Lawrence Co in the region Finals next week

Well after seeing both Columbia and lawrence co run over there Franklin co and Shelbyville...looks like its going to be a great game. Both teams are looking good and Im going to have to give the Home Court Advantage to the Columbia Boys. These 2 teams could make a Region run with Seigal and Oakland. Just depends on which teams show up. looking to watch a very great game tomorrow!
-
Games start tonight with Franklin County @ Tullahoma and Lincoln Co visiting Shelbyville. Could set up some very interesting semi-final match-ups with a pesky Tullahoma team who played Columbia good twice this year and Lawrenece Co vs Shelbyville (Aftermath edition)...guess we will see, but not going to count out the other 2 bc it is tourney time! Got to love it!
-
Yea thats him, he is playing great, def is a game changer
-
Tourney time in Tennessee! Columbia has #1 Seed and home court playing in there favor. They are my pick to take the tourney hands down on the back of English, Parks, Christmon. With saying that Lawrenece Co. is not looking to bad @ all right now and could give them a run for they money. #34(forget his name),Brink, Garland, and Shelbyville minus 8AAA MVP Andrews(Dont bring that mess on this post about the altercation) have put it on Jerrel and Wilson back and are not looking to bad either. What are your thoughts?
MARSHALL COUNTY VS BOLIVAR - THE WINNER IS?
in Boys Basketball

Yea, I highly doubt they will win by 20+ Marshall Co. playes with alot of heart and they are very scrappy. Kedron MUST STAY OUT OF FOUL TROUBLE so he can control the game, he is the back bone and can lead them to the ship Sat. #11 for Boliver is a great defender and may give Kedron some problems, BUT Marshall Co. by 3!!!
