Someone mentioned the way Kentucky does it above. As someone that follows both KY & TN girls basketball just as hard as anyone, I would agree that Kentucky has the best system. One state champion for the entire state.

They do have an All "A" State championship held in the season that gives only Single-A teams a chance to play in that state tourney, but then single-A can also compete in the actual state tourney in March.

But there are too many state champions in Tennessee for my liking.

I like to say, "If you ain't got no haters you ain't popping."

Riverdale may be ready to run off 3 championships in a row and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Riverdale sure looked like the team to beat in the state Tuesday against Hamilton heights. Coffman's offense fits these girls pretty well & they are extremely talented.

Don't be shocked if Eagleville is a team that pulls an upset in the district tourney. They are a senior laden team. Think Community will be our representative in Murfreesboro once again.

MTCS didn't look good when I saw them this summer, hence their low ranking. But, I could easily see them end up 2 or 3.

Won't completely disagree. Riverdale will arguably be the best team in the state. Hamilton Heights is better than when you saw them last tho, I will guarantee that.

I know 9A will be a dog fight, but doesn't Houston co have a lot of size left. I know they lost their great guard but they were huge last year.

They still have Boggs, who is a very skilled 6'2, & White who is 6'3 or 6'4. But they won't have the guard play to match anyone in 9A IMO.

Mcewen still has Sr. Guard Maddie Long (Lee commit.) By far the best player in 10A. They beat Eagleville once last year. Mcewen will probably be the only team that could even compete with the lower end of 9A.

Westview, McMinn Central, & Elizabethton (in no particular order) are my top 3 in AA this year.

Hamilton Heights is a very talented team. To say that teams should avoid playing them is ridiculous. If you want to play the best teams available & test your team, they're a school that should be on your schedule. Riverdale v Hamilton Heights will be one of the better games in the state all year in terms of talent - it's one I will definitely be in attendance for.

Also, Oakland is still getting used to their teammates for sure. Imagine they'll be fine once regular season comes & definitely once tourney time comes. Shelby Gibson is the best post player in the state of TN no questions asked.

Riverdale looked VERY good today. I think Coffman's coaching style fits this group very well. He has a stable full of thoroughbreds, let's see how far they run!

Thought Alexander looked REALLY good. Whittington looked good also. Hayes is Hayes & they have other servicable players!
