Some Watertown folks are acting like they are different now simply because of Wilson County growth. Let's be honest, since you built the new school and allowed open zones, the high school enrollment has went up over 200 kids. You can't tell me that doesn't make a difference. If that didn't happen, some of those kids would be at different schools.

Either way though, if the zoning stays open, and Watertown keeps winning, they will continue to get those kids. They will need to be able to do that when they go to 3a.

For the Mid-Cycle report Watertown HS turned in 572.  Which means for the next two years WHS will probably be the largest school in 2A Football.  3A enrollment numbers are 557-821.  With the rezoning the county is talking about WHS should go to the top half of 3A in two years.  With the new building and the test scores as high as they are at WHS makes it an easy decision to come here!

trousdale is a community rich in tradition  compromised of several different families, both large and small, and people who have lived here and contributed several generations throughout decades of top caliber football.

water town went from zeros to heroes in just a few short years while surrounding schools have been losing local kids.

lets just all be adults here and call a duck a duck.

Watertown has lost more kids to Friendship, Wilson Central and Lebanon than they will ever get back!

    Notes:
All times are local time. In the first and second rounds the higher seeded team shall be the host school. In the third round and semifinals in odd-numbered years the top team in each bracket shall be the host team. If two teams from the same region meet in the third round, the team seeded higher in the region standings shall host.

I stand corrected.....I did not read the fine print at the bottom.

Watertown has lit up some folks but our 10th grade team shut them down until they scored 8 with a min left.

    Tyner rolls.

    Merry-go-Round,

Glad to hear from you!  I can see why you been shut-up all year at 4-7.  You must be still rolling with the Junior Pro offense y'all run.  We can't wait to come back to the Rock-Pile next year!  BTC

I just seen the box score.

Watertown had 149 yards on those 2 touchdowns and 63 yards the rest of the game.

Smith County had 16 first downs and Watertown had 3.

Was the defense that good for Watertown or did Smith County choke?

    Honestly Roller,

They real predictable in what they do......

Sometimes stats do not tell the whole story....but in this case they do!

You,sir, have the most accurate name on here...definitely a clown. Where, in my post, did I show Watertown any hate? Where did I kick Watertown? I'm waiting.....

I gave you an honest, objective observation from someone who's seen both teams live and on film.

If you had read the other post I made, you would see that I said SC has lost to some teams they shouldn't have, so a Watertown win is not out of the question.

You are simply going up against a team with more athletes.

Hackett's defense may be ready....that remains to be seen, but what about the offense?

I've said the same things that I said on here to folks I work with from Watertown. They're smart enough to know and realize that it will be an uphill battle against SC.

But, there's always those clowns that have escaped from the circus....

Hey bro, why so angry?  You get butt-hurt quick!  You kind of remind me of Merry-go-round.

We both agree SC has speed and a good club!  i just made an observation you don't give Watertown much credit.

Both teams had blowouts against Dekalb. That makes it hard to compare. However, I believe they stayed tight with H2O for a while.

As far as the Gordonsville games, Gville changed their offense after that game against Watertown. I think it would be different now, but it really doesn't matter.

Against SC, Price won't be the best athlete on the field. If used right, SC has some serious playmakers, and I don't think H2O has the players to stop them all.

    Croz,

Here you go again!  Always kicking Watertown!  You must stop at the Bi-rite and buy a six-pack of Watertown-haterade every week.  You said Gordonsville was going to have their way with us too!  I am going to tell you the same thing I told you before we played Gville!  You ready.............you underestimating Hackett's defense.  I know Smith Co. has a good ball club and speed everywhere!  But knowing Hackett is from the south side of the east side of Carthage.....he will have his defense ready!

Haven't seen anybody really call it yet this year and I've seen 5 games. 4 Jamboree games and1 friday.

Like I said... in the GCA and MJCA game it was a poorly officiate game both ways.  The NCOA tends to have better officials week in and week out who will have been trained on the new points of emphasis.

  9. Well, after watching their Friday night game..... MJCA must not have gotten the new rule change memo......

2-3-10 (NEW), 9-4-3n (NEW), 9-4 PENALTY: Added a new definition for a blindside block and specifies a penalty for an illegal blindside block.

Rationale: Continuing with the focus on risk minimization, the committee created a definition for a blindside block. This block involves contact by a blocker against an opponent who, because of physical positioning and focus of concentration, is vulnerable to injury. Unless initiated with open hands, it is a foul for excessive and unnecessary contact when the block is forceful and outside of the free-blocking zone.

MJCA recievers crack down on OLB not leading with hands and actually in the back...which is a block in the back.  The officials never called it.  They also took out the kicker on PAT that left the kicker down....not sure he made it back in.

But, to be fair to MJCA this was a poorly officiated game.  GCA had several blocking below the waist that were not called.  The average HS Football fan does not understand the free blocking zone.  In today's game with most teams in the shotgun you only have about a second of free-blocking.  Once the ball leaves the free-blocking zone there is no longer free-blocking.

But make no mistake about it....MJCA cracked down blocks are blindside and under the new rules illegal!

Both have their jamborees tonight. Gordonsville will play Macon at home and Watertown travels to Upperman.

Watertown lost a lot of good players, while Gordonsville returns most of the offense and loses almost all of the defense.

Anxious to see how this opening game shakes out.

I say Gordonsville in a close one.

Croz....after 4 films yall need to punt the fun-n-gun and quit trying to run sideways.....get back to Gville Football...... run down hill!  Just my observation of watching 20 years of Gville Football!

The loser of the SP/Whitwell game will be visiting Gordonsville in the 2nd round with the winner of that game possibly seeing them in round 3.  Gordonsville has their entire offense back from last season with the exception of the stud RB. Gordonsville should win this game something like 34-20.

Ambass......I respect your knowledge of football but your mistaken on this.  I have watched four scrimmages of Gville and they have not scored 34 points combined.  You have been on T forever and you know this.........when Gville is good they have it on BLAST all year!  Croz is the only one on here!  Why you think that is?  Croz picked Gville over Watertown last year.  And it was a beat 41-15 down!  Just something to think about!

  12. i k

now that love got owned at forrest. thats what i know

    Merry-go-round,

This is a HS football thread. To get on here and rundown a HS kid speaks volumes about your character. You are someone who has never played a down of football, probably living football your son or grandson and could not run the chains if they ask you! You make Forrest look Bad! I can't believe no one from Forrest has enough guts to call you out!
