University High, on the campus of ETSU, is a very strong college prep school and has made it to the state tournament 3 of the last four years.

I wouldn't go to far on the Elizabethton wins yet or any wins from any team, for that matter, in scrimmages. When a team hits and plays all their players, anywhere from 15-20 both varsity and jv, I'm not sure that is a good indicator of how well the opposing team does. If both teams played only the top 9 or 10 from each team, that would be a different story.

Don't rule out Unicoi County in AA and University High School in A (everyone back from last year). Not heard much about Seymour but they always seem to be good. Daniel Boone in AAA is young but should be good along with Science Hill.
-
I don't know anyone on the team but I coach University High and we played them yesterday morning. Both teams stayed in the same hotel and several players from both teams were in the same room the night before the game having a great time together. I wish there was more of this in sports. We had a fun game and wild ending.

University School and North Greene in District 1A, Cosby and Washburn in District 2A. University School hosts Washburn, Cosby host North Greene.

Not that I know of.

That is true, she is no longer there.

Unaka at University High March 21st game has been rescheduled to to March 28th.

University High at Elizabethon on March 18 was rescheduled due to rain to April 29th.

I know very little about this district, being from district one. I have one question though, why would East Robertson not pitch their number one or two pitcher? That makes no sense even if the teams they play are not that good. That being said, I'm not saying the other teams aren't good, they may be very good, just don't understand the concept/statement of not pitching your 1 or 2 pitchers.
-
Is district 2A looking any better this year? Also is Oliver Springs returning several starters?
-
Anyone know how many starters Chattanooga Grace and Decatur County lost from last year? Depending on who is coming back don't rule out Grace Christian Academy out of Knoxville.
-
Coalfield lost their pitcher from last year to college. Not sure about the other teams.
-
It was University School from Johnson City in single A, not Jackson.
-
University High defeated Grace Christian 7-2.
-
All pretty tough at this point. It will be interesting to see who wins tomorrow!!!

University High beat North Greene 14-4.

As far as Unaka goes they lost alot of kids off of last years team. I do know that they lost a pretty good catcher in Mccinturf to Chatt State,Their #2 pitcher Huskins to Milligan College and their # 1 pitcher Anderews who I am not sure if she is playing college ball or not. I know Walter State was looking at her but not sure if it fell through or what happened. But they did lost about 85 to 90 percent of their power at the plate,And some very good defensive weapons as well. University High returns mostly every starter back including their ace,Not sure of her name but when she is on they are a very tough ball club. Almost every starter returns for them as well,Because I know last year they were very young.Cloudland returns every starter from last years team finishing 3rd in the conference behind Unaka and University High,Those will be your top 3 teams out of District 1A.
Haley Faulkner is the pitcher at University High. She will be a Junior. I think there are only a couple of seniors so most of the girls will be back for 2013 too.

Need some softball talk, getting into winter and I am so ready to get started..
Predictions, favorites, thoughts?
Can Riverside repeat or did they lose too much (P, SS, OF)?
Can Grace Baptist return without Walker?
Coalfield and Fadnek got enough?
Does Trinity Christian(Renfro)run end?
will Gordonsville take over with (Jennings)
Will Houston County return or East Robertson take Division..
Can Summertown or Forrest make a run?
What about Marion or Unaka?
Other A teams not mention?
I predict Richland to make long awaited visit to Murfreesboro.. Lost two seniors last year, and replaced them with Patetrson (SIU commit)at SS and a large freshman class.. Returning senior McGill will be signing with Wallace St. in Jan. Edwards (Pitcher) & Parker ©had a great summer of travel finishing runner-up at ASA Nationals. Last State Title for Richland was in 1979 for Richland in softball. Coach Annette Edwards was on the team and Coach Coble was the coach 33 years ago...

Agree with Ashley Starnes. One of the best arms I've seen.

Science Hill, DB, Boone, and Volunteer all won their first tournament games. Science Hill and DB play tonight followed by Boone and Volunteer.

The sping/fall thing is a dead subject. I've coached a travel team for 6 years. I have no affiliation with any school and no school coach has ever told me who to play and where or how to play. The problem with all this is that, as a team we want to play in the fall. I have a few girls from several different schools but more than 5 from one school. So come August when school starts I get to cut players from that school to be legal. That's fair for those girls (sarcastic). They get cut from a team even though they are good enough in order to protect the school and they are not able to play at all unless they can find another team. This is a stupid rule that's meant to keep school coaches from forcing players to play and ends up making competition weaker in travel ball and is unfair to girls.

Can take a couple more teams. If interested let me know soon.
