  1. Coach, funny thing is you edited your post too quick. You stated that some think that you are on here alot. Well I checked you joined in Aug 2006. That would be a little over 6 years ago. 365 days in a year times 6.5 would be 2,372 days. You almost have enough posts to have posted a post a day.

  2. so this what we know about hc they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, and are more like a SEC team w/ their power and overall team speed.

as JACKET fans we all know how hc has won 9 straight regular season state championship's. well too bad they're gonna get beat on friday,

by a team that they feel has no chance of making it a game, hc will be crying about penalties, t/o's and how they had 24 injuries during

    warmups . JACKETS 28- hc 24

:roflol: I can't stop laughing. 28 points will not be scored by Springfield. Maybe if we play again in the playoffs (if you guys make it) then combined you might score 28 points. This game will be over quickly. Running clock in second half again for the Big Red! :roflol:

  3. It seems to me that the only whining is being done by you (a retired coach who obviously never questioned a call over coaches who didn't like a call). It's dead it's over and it has been run into the ground. Im sure Coach Myers and his staff cares less about your opinion but kids read these pages (My Son) and you are down grading their coaches in public which is classless. As for the game HC must be tough and SHS will do their very best to defeat them. Grow up or get over your senility.

Been a while since I posted on here. Good to see all the Big Red faithful still going at it. I am not a fan of RW so "get a clue" do not let him get to you. He is a so called "retired coach of 30 years" and he knows all. He is only trying to get you all fired up. I find it so funny that a person not from here has grown to love a place and KNOW everything about a place so quickly. Yes it has been about three years for him now, but when he first came on the scene HE KNEW EVERYTHING about HC football. I am so proud to be a fan of a place that is KNOWN everywhere, because how else would a retired coach learn and know so much. All that being said I do agree with him that this game will not be close. HC 42 SHS 7

  4. Having been a coach for three decades (yes,I said it again), I continue to be amazed at the stupidity exhibited on these boards. Gaddis and his staff turned this program around. They went from nothing to one of the state's best. Counce has been here before and did a great job (yes, I said GREAT even though no gold ball). He is back again and had a very good season last year, with most of the starters returning next season. My point is this...what is to be gained by comparing the two? We are fortunate to have had Gaddis, and we are fortunate to have Counce. It's hard to win it all, and I do NOT believe that a coach can only be considered great if his team wins the state championship. That logic is sheer stupidity! This is high school football. You play with the players who attend your school. Alcoa wins the title nearly every year. They have a good coach but have you seen their players? Coaching is important, but has little to do with who attends your school. All of this said, Counce may be a GREAT coach even though he hasn't won a state title. Gaddis may be a GREAT coach, but not because he has won a state title. Comparing the two is just plain STUPID...let's be thankful for both of them.

Glad to see you and I are finally on the same page. This is what I was trying to say also. You did a better job of saying though :thumb: Only an idiot would say that the only way a coach can be great is by winning a gold ball. You said it all perfectly.

  5. Great points...hopefully the coaches use that as part of their motivation for the team to get over the middle tn hump or for this staff the second round hump....with that being said I really think we have a great team coming back and another 2nd round boot idc what team it is would be a huge let down im sure you feel the same way....and that would not be a successfull season...btw it wasnt my great coach [gaddis] ..it was our great coach who has our football program on the high it is on now... can we agree on that?? And I hope nothing but the best for the current staff and we all hope when you walk into the HS there will be a gold ball to look at next year and not just a refection of yourself in the glass.

Yes, we can agree on that statement. It was "our" great coach. Gaddis did a great job of getting our program "on the high it is on now". But, the coaches that are there now are continuing that winning. Last years team did exactly what Coach Gaddis last team did. They both won a bunch of games and lost in the second round to Gallatin and Hendersonville. My only point was don't throw rocks at a great coach and Man just because he hasn't won a state championship. Counce's team has done the same as Gaddis's team did. Maybe if we had been sent west in the playoffs we would have made it to the semis before losing to Hendersonville. Who knows and no one will ever know. The point is we were lucky to have coach Gaddis and we are lucky to have Coach Counce. Two great coaches that have and are leading our boys on the field.

  6. Exactly the type of coaching you get when you enter Henry Co. land. Not only in football but in baseball and basketball. The exception is the Lady Patriot basketball coach. The Grove/Freshman program is a complete waste IMO. Kids who enter High School in 9th grade should be on the HS team or on the JV period. Building a new gym for just freshman basketball is ridiculous I‘m sure there are a few class rooms to go along, but that’s neither here nor there. If Henry Co. were producing championships in football and basketball through the separate 9th grade football and basketball systems I believe it would be a different story. Anyone who lives in Paris/Henry Co. are well aware that is not the case. It's just a complete waste. Do they get a gold ball for going undefeated in either sport? No. Now could the JV teams get more and better coaching to get these kids better with out the separation? Yes. JV teams could get more and better attention for development..... The baseball team has a non existent off season summer program and this should exist. Very few players ages 15-17 play summer travel ball in this county. This means a low % of development. The HS team may play around 16-20 (if that many) games against a non competitive West TN schedule during the summer which provides IMO very little experience. The best players on the teams they will play don't play for the HS teams during the summer because they play travel baseball. This equals low competition. There should be a complete extensive summer baseball program not just a thrown together schedule to play a few games....... Back to football. I have watched around 80% of Henry Co. football games since Joe Gaddis (great coach) took over in 2004. IMO this could be the most complete football team ever in Henry Co. next year. This could go to waste. Players who should be on playing on both sides of the ball don't. One example of many IMO is Shaq Allen...no reason this kid who doesn't even play every down on the offensive side shouldn't be in at LB on defense. He's not even rotated in at any point not even during the playoffs either. This means this good athlete is playing less than 50% of the game. WHY? When it comes to your QB I can understand completely but IDK where the logic is not playing your best players on both sides? It's not college or the pros with a very deep talented roster. This is HS. For those who watched the Hendersonville game saw most of their best players going both ways and even on special teams. I’m very far from calling our coaching horrible but a team is a reflection of the head coach. Sometimes it's not the passion you put in during the season or on Friday nights under the lights but it's the passion you put in to your players and the relationships you develop during the off season and in that same very weight room in December on through out the spring and summer. I have no clue if this is even close to being the truth or just a dead period for the football coaches but lets all hope that's the case. GO BIG RED!

What is your agenda? I am a HC fan and I have watched games for a long time. Last year we did what we almost always do. Have a successful year and fall in playoffs to a team out of middle tennessee. Your great coach did the same thing. We lost to Hillsboro and Maplewood and Gallatin while he was here. Now we won a bunch of games and went into West TN and won several playoff games, but same result as this year we lost to Middle Tenn. teams. So what is your point?

  7. Hey people. I was hoping that Red Warrior will get on here and post all of his accomplishments and list the names of the schools that he has coached. I know that all Coach T er's would love to hear from him. Maybe he could even let us look at his resume? I am hoping that we can use this post for him to come on and talk about all the match ups that are left in the playoffs. I'm sure he has friends at ALL of the schools that are still involved with the playoffs.

  8. How does everyone feel about Heritage? Where do they need to improve? Are they in the right direction?

Hey I got an answer for you. Go to Henry County and ask Red Warrior. He seems to know everything about football and he could tell you where you need to improve. He knows where EVERY team is headed and if it is the right direction or not. :roflol:

  9. I coached for 30 years in Mississippi, not too far from Tennessee. Most friends that coaches make are fellow coaches. I know coaches in Clarksville. However, it doesn't take a coach to evaluate high school football in Clarksville. If any of you out there know ANYTHING at all about football, this is an easy call. I really don't understand why I seem to bother so many of you out there. I am a big HC fan, and I happen to to just tell the truth about our team, and other teams. Why does that bother you?

You have bothered me from the beginning! All you do is act like you are the only one on here that knows any football. If you know so much then get back in the game! Give Coach Counce a call and come help with your superior knowledge of the game. Better yet, go to Stewart County (since you are close by the lake) and help them.

I will always find it strange that you have in three years time become the BIGGEST HC fan of all time. You know EVERYTHING about HC football.

Hey, maybe Coach Counce could get you to be the speaker at the end of the year banquet. I'm sure we'd all love to hear your stories about 30 years of coaching. You make me sick!

  10. As much as YOU and others will attempt to build them up, and say how improved they are...WC and Kenwood will be TERRIBLE. NE will be better than fair, and Clarksville High will be fair.

I'm going to go against my own advice and actually argue with this fool! How does a retired person at the lake :roflol: Know so much about Clarksville football teams??? You must have a crystal coaching ball that you look into often :roflol:

I for one am TIRED of your ranting and raving about who is good and who is bad and who is average. Get a fishing pole and take up fishing (since you live at the lake)! Put down the computer and do your job (cough cough) I forgot you are retired. BS on that :roflol:

  11. I for one look forward to next year. We had a good season this year. Some would even say great. We got beat on a night where we actually had better stats then Hendersonville, but we got beat in the kicking game. A REAL coach would know how important the kicking game is especially in the playoffs.

People do not argue with Red Warrior. It is not worth it. I agree with many of you that he is no more a retired coach then I am Mickey Mouse, but it is not worth arguing with him.

He used to talk about being at the lake and all of his conversations with coaches and HCHS people. All I have to say is that he must have ONE heck OF A CELL PHONE! The reception at the lake is terrible. :roflol:

I always thought (and still do to some degree) that RW is a coach on the staff at HCHS. However, I called him out on this once and he actually replied to me when I would have thought he would be at the game. So, I'm not for sure about that anymore. I am positve that he is not a retired coach from ANY state, though! This I am certain.

I have NEVER known any person that is "NEW" to a community to know SO much about the team and its history and its present. It is almost like he is in the school 24/7

Anyways, Good job to the coaches and players. Let's enjoy basketball season, and then get back to work for another shot at the title.

  12. I really like our offense, but when you say "balanced" playbook, are you talking about a balance between run and pass? If so, I have missed that balance through the first four games. One of us has been attending the wrong games. I am old school so I don't really want a balance (I would rather run the ball), but your comment confused me.

Don't worry General. The Red Warrior is not a retired coach. He is very active today as a coach. He knows too much about the ins and outs of the program. Whenever someone says one thing that might come across as negative to the old staff the Red Warrior immediately gets on here and defends them. Now he will come on here and say he defends all coaches and that he loves what the new staff is doing, but he is always on the fence about someone saying something bad about the old staff!!!!!

All I know is when I go to the lake I lose my cell phone and I would imagine that internet is slow out there also, but not by the lake that he says he lives at. His is super speed and ready to attack.

I've told him before that he needs to get out a fishing rod and cast a line. :roflolk:

  13. One of the backs has been in some trouble and his attendance at practice is an issue. He will hopefully get on track. I think this team has a chance to go far. I have watched practice once and attended the scrimmage. I am impressed.

I am impressed also. I think the coaches will work with our youth and little game experience and the boys will get better and better. I do have a question though: What's your point with talking about the boy that has been in trouble and also calling out his attendance as an issue? You say you have watched one practice and the scrimmage correct? I guess that "back" missed that one practice that you attended or you are once again not telling the truth and you are at practice often! I know what you are going to tell me. You are going to say that that is the word at the lake. :roflol:

  14. Alot of new faces in the region as head coaches, and many teams have to reload due to graduation. The big question is will Henry County continue to be the big dowg in the region, or will another take the region title. This year will be very exciting!

Henry County will be the "big dowg", "BIG DAWG" or "Big Dog"! However you want to spell it. This is HC's district to lose. I believe we have only lost one district game ( A fluke to Clarksville) since we went back to 10 AAA. Reading on here there is alot of talk about Springfield, but the team I saw in the playoffs last year better get A WHOLE BUNCH better to compete with the Big Red. It is early, but I will take a stab at the top four. 1. HC 2. Clarksville 3. Springfield 4. Dickson County

Well, the Patriots graduated several seniors and will have to replace many key positions. I do look for the Patriots to be on top of this district and will make noise in the playoffs. The new coaches are now intact and working hard. I look for 8-2 at the worst and if the new faces gel with the new coaches then 10-0 is not out of the question. Big question is who will be the QB?

  15. First off, this is not Coach Hodge. What I have said about him is based on what players have told me and what I have observed. Players and parents have said that Hodge has had positive comments about Counce. And when I said he is moving on to better things at Dresden the meaning to that statement is that it is a better thing for him and the Dresden program. From what I have been told Coach Hodge hopes the program does well in his absence and expects it to do well. Get over yourselves thinking you know who this is. Ha! Yall wish. Anyway, back to the players and the team. I know the program well because I follow the program and know some of the players. What you guys don't think someone can know about players and the program unless they are a coach???? Pitiful. I didn't question your thoughts and knowledge on practice and players and the upcoming team. Seems to me some of you are probably coaches if the truth be known and need to just move on. It would be best to know your facts before naming people. The HCHS program will fine without Hodge and it is time to talk football not coaches.

    :huh::huh::lol:

  16. HMMM! let's think about this. In your first quote you said you did not know Hodge personally yet "you are very close to the program" Interesting. Now you tell us that "Hodge does not get on Coach T and has said nothing but good things about Coach Counce" (I thought you didn't know him personally???) and you also tell us that he is moving on to better things with his brother. Oh, and you are able to know every position on the field and Who should be the QB. :? Man in three posts you have gone from not knowing him personally to now knowing his family and what he says about people???

Good luck Coach Hodge in Dresden. Get off of here and quit trying to stir crap up! Also tell your buddy, Green Machine (or tell yourself) to quit worrying about HC and the decisions that have been made. The coaches that are here probably want to work hard and don't you think that the kids are reading this stuff? or maybe that is your underlying plan of action???

This is unbelievable that we are comparing Dresden to Henry County! TOO FUNNY!

All I do is read CoachT for info but couldnt help but reply to this one.

HMMM...If by reading all your posts then one would think you are Burt Snow.....

Its so funny reading all the DRAMA that goes on here with Henry County. Get over it, you have one of the best programs in the state. Every time someone tries to back up and say good luck to Counce or whatever, somebody has to throw it back in their face. Thats makes no sense. What message do you send when somebody has something to say you might not agree with and you bash that person? (whoever it is) You dont think the players see that too. But I bet your gonna love this post cause it will stir some DRAMA up in you....Hilarious

:lol: You wish you knew :?:

  17. pardon me sec1, but if Hodge is wanting to coach with his brother and Dresen is where that can be achieved, then it is a better thing for him, no one suggested that Dresden's football program was better than Henry County's. Lets take for instance, Bob Markum, he is an outstanding football coach that could coach at the high school if he desired, but apparently Inman Middle school is better for him.

Agree! I'd say HC native and Green Machine and Hodge just need to move on
