  1. Let's get some football talk going. Spring Practice will be starting for all of the schools very soon. What's the talk at all the schools? Who's the team to beat this year? I see it this way.

1 Centennial - best coach and will thrive off of last year finish

2 Brentwood - new coach but lots of seniors

3 Independence - same coach got to replace defense and get better on offense

4 (tie) Franklin and Hillsboro - both with new coaches Hillsboro probably better off since Clayton already told all of us in district last year that this team coming up at Franklin will be the worst he has seen

5 Ravenwood - same coach and same team

  2. Ditto! It would be easy from this point. Just don't split the districts for the playoffs.

Hey BurroBall I don't want to get off the subject and did not want to start a new thread but what is the word around Hillsboro? I know that Will Co was on spring break this week so I am sure that the new coaches spent a lot of time around Hillsboro this week. What is the word? When is spring practice for the boros?

  3. Well, I obviously dont root for Franklin, and I certainly dont root for Centennial as some other poster assumed, although I do respect what they seem to be building, both in athletics and in the school.

I just hate to see what was once a proud school doing so poorly in so many ways. I guess I have too much inside information about Franklin. I'll leave your school alone. Franklin needs to focus on fixing their problems and not worry so much about what people are saying about them. I guess thats the bad part of it, Franklin wants to work on denying their issues instead of working on them.

Taken from the Herald. I guess others see the same problems at Franklin.

I have never been concerned about my safety as a reporter, even when gunshots were fired at a game between Nashville opponents several years ago – until the end of the Centennial at Franklin game. The Rebel student section, rejoicing in the win, did not stop with their team at mid-field, but rushed the Centennial sideline, engulfing many trying to work. Their suggestions, verbiage and signals kept my head on a swivel. There is not enough soap to wash out the mouths or clean up the actions of a few in that mob.

This thread is sooooooooooooo funny! I love seeing franklin and clayton getting it put to them! Right now I bet you guys are thinking about how you can get some of our players to transfer over there to help you out. You are gonna need it. Grassland High will NOT beat Centennial next year. Write it down right now!

Centennial and Brentwood will compete for the championship and you guys at Franklin will either be wishing you had Clayton back or you will be mad at him for losing to Centennial and Brentwood in the same year!

  5. I'm sure he is. But the difference is that Centennial out performed expectations and has a bright looking future while Franklin under performed for their expectations and has a weak crop of juniors moving up.

As far as Clayton, I actually hope he stays at Franklin.

    OUCH!! :roflolk:

  6. Reading comprehension is an issue for so many these days. You might try re-reading what I posted and what you responded with. Did you get what I was saying? Nope

Great season to build from Centennial. It was something special, especially when the previous two seasons were 1-9 and 2-8. Rest a few days and get started on next season.

    Ready to keep this going!

  7. All I'm going to say is 64 was coached to hit the quarterback during every option; don't blame it on the player.

The play that got a flag is on Wilco highlights. 64 is coming toward his back and just hits the QB right in the back and on his legs. dirty play and the ref got him for it. I guess they told him to hit qb even if he did not have ball. He could have hurt the qb on that play. Franklin hit late the whole game against us. Maybe you right and they coach it that way.

  8. I have closely watched Tennessee football since 1995 and have seen many games during that time. I came to the board to post concerning the actions of Franklin's number 64 last night and the first thing I saw was this previous post justifing what I thought was the most unsportsman like actions I have ever witnessed in all my years of watching football. As the precious poster states the Brentwood QB was hit several times on option plays.....by #64. The problem being he was hit 2-3 seconds after pitching the ball, several yards from the action, and in the back. Only the third time it happened was it called. It was the most cowardly act I have seen on a football field and if it was sanctioned by the coaching staff they should be fired and Franklin put on probation.

I put a post on here after our game with them. Franklin is out of control. Their whole student section, the players and yes the coaches are out of control. If you heard the language that is going on by the franklin players and coaches you would just be embarrassed. They will deny it, but it is true. It is so bad it even goes down to the JV team. When we played them in JV they had one coach saying things to our players like "we gonna punk that ***" A COACH mind you. Then to top it off they think they are so much above everyone else that they run deep passes and reverses when the game is a blowout. They are just plain RUDE. So I will say it here. #64 acts the way he does because he acts just like his coach and his school. Believe me I think there are others that are worse than #64. 65 is a way more dirtier player. They are led by dirt so they act like dirt.

  9. Wow. So much for my annonimity (sic)!

Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about and saw more than I ever thought I would. Others within my organization are working the issues in your second paragraph. So far, it's pretty tight lipped. I heard about the ballooons and smoke bombs. I saw the paint after the fact. Hope they realize how expensive a mascot costume and cheerleader uniforms can be.

There's a column coming on the post-game issue. The home team did a good job of having security on site, they just weren't at the right place at the right time for that issue. I've also heard some rumblings from a few cheerleaders that, if I can get confirmation, turns my stomach. But until then, it's just a rumor. I have many reasons to make sure something is correct before it's ever printed, much less discussed on a message board.

That is the part that I am talking about. I hope you get to the bottom of it.

  10. Ever see several hundred students storm the field to celebrate a victory? Thats no big deal, and expected, right?

Even seen several hundred students storm the field, not even pause midfield for their team celebration, and run to the opposing team's stands to taunt, cuss, and flip off the visitors?

I havent seen that, or even heard of it until last Friday night. Most classless thing I have ever seen. The winning team students were even taunting the losing team's players. How does a non athletic kid taunt someone who has put the energy and effort to be on the football team, regradless of the outcome?

Include in the picture the pregame activites where the host team smoke bombed and water ballooned the visiting team's student tailgate party, as well as the host team students throwing paint on the visiting teams cheerleaders and mascot, and you get a picture of a completely classless and out of control situation.

This is an embarassment to the entire county.

I totally agree with you on this one. I witnessed the event! And add to it classless team led by classless coaches. We lost I know it, but the things that were being said from that side were awful. I guess the players and students act that way because the coaches do to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. hmmmmmmmm.... interesting hoganknows.

not sure I understand what you are trying to do here. what does hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mean? Does Hogan not like this kid or something? Is he not a great kid? What does hmmmmmmmmmmmm mean for this post????

I must say something. I am glad for Matt that he has this offer. I want to say that first. But I went over to Vanderbilt on Saturday and caught the FHS game. Matt makes lots of mistakes. All I know is the Coach from Franklin is always yelling at him or his receivers. I am not for sure that he is a Division I QB. I wish him well, but maybe that is why a school from way up north has offered him. I also saw the FHS playoff game vs. Blackman and if the WR's are covered this kid is a sitting duck. He could not out run anyone. Good luck to Matt, but since someone was asking questions like hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I thought I would ask a few also.

  12. Hah! Good one. I dont think CHS stole them but more of they put their foot down and have stopped FHS from stealing them from CHS to FHS. Crime prevention at its best. Word on the street is not even grandmamma's address works any more.

CHS is making huge strides. Keep it up.

No more grandmamma'a address. Now your talking.

No more "beating Centennial with Centennials athletes" for the FHS coaches.

I bet this is making coach clayton very nervious.

  13. Well, it is obvious I have no friends at FHS, and my network failed me this time. What does the horse reference mean?

Franklin71 got on here and tried to go off on coach rector so I just talked about what I have heard about the franklin coach and what the guys say he cares about. Just think.

  14. I had the same purpose that you did MR. FBFORME. Franklin71 got on here and made a statement that he either made up or must of heard. I defended CHS and our coach. Along the way I told what I have heard about your coach. :roflol: I guess you guys got mad about it. So maybe it is not "nonsense"

I guess since Franklin71 has never came back then we must be right. He was just spreading crap.

  15. I'm sorry but I can no longer read your posts without saying something. You love to talk about what "you hear". You "hear" this and you "hear" that. Well here is what I KNOW. Franklin is 13-0 vs. Centennial. I find it hard to believe the Rebels are so terrified of a team that has never beaten them before, but from reading your posts you seem to be convinced they are. I would be willing to bet they are a little more worried about Brentwood, who has beaten FHS the last 3 years, than a team that has never even challenged for 2nd place in the district. Also, you say that you don't care about the past and what happened before doesn't matter. You call people who disagree with you children, but even a child knows that disregarding the past when you talk about football is ignorant and demonstrates how little you know about the sport.

I have never called anyone ignorant or called anyone children. That was Taco. Yes, we have never beaten Franklin and I KNOW this to. I do hear things. It was one of your rebels that called out our coach on what he heard so I called out your coach on what I have heard. I do find it funny that you copyed all of my post except for the part about the horses. Did I hit a little to close to the truth about what I heard?

  16. Well I must say this is quite surprising. I also noticed this rumor mentioned on the Independence thread.

Cougar12345 replied to both by copying and pasting. Taco replied to both by copying and pasting.

    Cougar12345=Taco?

    Interesting

Nope. Not Taco. I do like to eat Tacos. :roflol:

One thing I know for sure is Franklin71 has not come back yet so I have to agree with Taco and say that this was all BS from the Franklin boys. Must be a little nervous over there.

  17. It has been confirmed that Brian Rector has applied for the MBA football job. How does that show character and commitment?

What is your purpose here franklin71? If you really are from Franklin then I would say that you are trying to make joke of "character and commitment". Well I'd say the rebels are just a little bit nervous of ole Centennial getting better.

From what I hear from my friends there is NO ONE from Franklin that needs to question anyone elses head coach and his character. From what I hear your head coach knows very little about character. So how are the horses doing? :roflolk:

(All my friends from Franklin know exactly what I am talking about)

  18. True charater and commitment from Rector.

  19. I have it from a very good source that the administration at CHS had a meeting with the person that was doing FHS's dirty work. Word is, he admitted what he had been doing. I think the embarrassment from that has made a lot of the recruiting stop.

Good to hear. What will Clayton and the FHS coaches do without that dirty work being done, :roflolk:
