  1. Well first off my post was directed to ladadad , its got nothing to do with great kids! I was stating facts! If you can't handle facts then maybe this is not a sport for you. Get over it!

First of all you were stating opinions not facts. Saying Farragut lost is a fact saying they choked is your opinion.

And if you take HS sports so seriously to forget they are kids competing then maybe this isn't the sport for you and you should stick to criticizing paid professionals. But that's not a FACT just my OPINION.

  2. Queen Bees, who won the district last year. Do you even think, before you post on here. I am not a fan of either Bearden or Farragut. You say Bearden's year will be like last year, did they not win district? If you look at scoring in the district, they did better than Farragut against Catholic and West, just saying. Farragut 34 vs Catholic 28 , really only by 6 points. I thought Farragut would be the strongest in district 4, not so sure now. I don't think Farragut can control the Walsh girl at Bearden, she can out score anyone Farragut has. I think Farragut will struggle more as the season gets underway , your not beating teams by enough, to dominate the district. Farragut still has to play teams, that can beat them, so I would hold off on calling the shot! Farragut will never get passed Science Hill, they always choke when playing them. Choke when it counts that is!

Go! Maryville, William Blount, Heritage- The Blount county teams may sneak up on you!

    Go

ladadad is crazy anyone on this board knows that and he is too crazy to be a FHS fan.

Also we are talking about HS girls and its pretty class-less to say a bunch of great kids "choked" and always "choke when it counts " say that about the coach but leave the kids out of it..... I'm also not sure that losing to a State Championship runner up team in Sub State is choking!

    Think before you post !

  3. One or two years doesn't really constitute much experience especially if you're replacing a long time coach. They both have done well but had very good talent which makes you a much better coach. LOL. CAK coach is also the AD.

I guess it depends on what you decide is "a long time coach" maybe you should research those schools a little better (the Farragut coach is starting his 5th year has HC).

Also, its very common for a school without "Talent" to say that's why their team loses and that a school with talent wins solely because of it and that it has nothing to do with coaching.

I would hate to be at a school where i don't think my coach can improve my players from their freshman year to their senior year and just hope for better recruiting classes.

  4. I guess nobody knows if they have any talented girls coming back from last years team, and if so, are they upper or under classmen?

They have a few good kids, couple of solid guards and a very big post who is a blocking machine. Their District is really really weak which makes it easier to compete.

  5. Ok just asking. I do not remember them winning more than 5 games but maybe they did.

He took them to the Region Semi-Finals his first or second year. I remember watching them beat Halls in the Region first Round. I have no idea of the record but it was probably pretty good to get that far.

  6. Maybe I am missing something here but why would the former South Doyle coach be a top candidate for the Powell job?

Just saying what I heard. Norris did one heck of a job with his teams at South Doyle and did that job with not very much talent.

  7. I doubt that one as well...Im sure he would love to be at Powell, not sure how excited they would be to have his 12-200 record with zero district tournament wins.

Good Point! That's a tough record to put on a resume.

I like the sound of John Fisher, he would do well there. However, he seems to really like Fulton.

  8. http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/apr/01/rick-anderson-steps-down-from-gibbs-boys-team/

Thanks coach Anderson for all the good memories!!!

Good coaching spot but knox county teaching system is crazy to deal with.

Jon Higgins may be a front runner!

Coach Anderson is a great coach and an even better person. Did good things for the Gibbs Community and did it the right way.

Gibbs is a diamond in the rough, not elite talent, but you can get some good kids that work very hard.

  9. Amber Fair/ Union City should be a candidate. Led her team to the State tourney for the first time in school history and made the All-Tourney Team.

Scored over at least over 1200 pts as a sophomore.

Scores inside and out averages 20 pts and 11 rebs a game.

Should defiately be in the conversation.

Sounds like an impressive stat line. However, I think the OP was referring to the PrepXtra Sophomore of the Year award which is for the Knoxville News Sentinels coverage area.

  10. NO! You should keep ur b!@ m@*!h shut, at least until you try and beat Maryville. Then after Morristown East or Science Hill have their way with Lady Ads, then you should comment.

As stupid as Ladaddad is 3ball4ever is just as big of a Lady Admirals hater! I have always believed that if it can't be your team you might as well root for your district.

Glad to know 3ball4ever has no respect for the accomplishments of the Farragut program getting to their 3rd Substate in 5 years and 2nd consecutive and all you can say is "lets go Mo east and Science Hill" .

You are just as bad as Ladaddad and are a prime example of what is wrong with anonymous message boards.

What in the world is wrong with congratulating Bearden for winning District, Jai Jai for MVP and wishing Farragut luck in trying to get to the State?

It is sad for you...very sad.

  11. Thank goodness for an intelligent Lady Admiral post!

I now officially believe that Ladadad is not really a Farragut fan. It had to be someone trying to make Farragut look bad. Think about it.

    1. How ridicilous were his posts? Who would really say stuff like that?

    2. If that was really a lady admiral dad wouldn't he have been on here right after the game Friday bragging and gloating?

Now after I posted this Im sure Ladadad will now appear and dispel my theory, but from here on out I am assuming he is really a fan of another team.

Got to love anonymous message boards.

  12. All you Lady Ad critics can gloat and strut all you want but you have to admit that the mark of a good high school season is 20 wins--which we have got and you don't.

Who cares about a 20 win season. Its a nice mark for wins, but getting it done in the Post Season is the mark of a good high school season.

  13.

"It is kind of a shame, but our rivalry with the Lady Dawgs is, once more, virtually at an end."

You do realize that Bearden is 7-5 against Farragut in the last six years? I guess you don't. You seem to only remember last year.

The Record over the last six years is actually 7-6 in Farragut's favor. If you include this year and make it 6.5 years the record is tied 7-7. Not a big deal just helping to get your facts straight, they played 3 times in 2008 when Farragut beat Bearden in the District Tourney (at Bearden) and then went on to Sub-State.

Also in that time span of 6 years Farragut has gone to 3 Sub-States (06, 08, 11) so that's not too shabby going to Sub-State every other year.

It should be a fun game Friday night with 2 good teams who will hopefully do well in the Tourney and the Region.

On behalf of all basketball fans..ignore Ladadad's comments not indicative of the program or community

  14. Where is "ladadad" since the Lady Admiral ship has run aground?

What is up with this message board? "run aground"?

I guess if being the 2nd place team in the always strong District 4-AAA and having a record of 17-5 is "run aground" I bet a lot of teams in the area wouldn't mind being in that same position. Not to mention the team only graduates one starter, but hey I really hope they right the ship and get all the problems fixed before its too late and they slip to 3rd.

congrats to Bearden they are having a great season, these last weeks of the District will be wild as teams work for seeding for the District tourney, its Bearden locked into 1 (baring a near impossible collapse). Everything else is wide open.

  15. This should not be surprising to anyone who has followed basketball in this District. As we predicted, Bearden's girls have once again started their meltdown. After a lucky start to their season they are going into the tank--right before they play the real leaders in District. Their players don't know how to deal with the pressure of big games coming so they quit.

Basketball is a team sport and team chemistry is key. Bearden gets a few good players, but they play as individuals and don't have heart. And their new coach has apparently not been able to get this bunch to want to play hard or even play together.

It would be interesting if Bearden were a true rival for us in girls basketball--but to have a rivalry we need a team to play against. It remains to be seen if there will be enough of them left to put a team on our floor next week. Bearden's time pretending to be District leader is done. I predict that next week they are run out of the gym! Twice.

I think its pretty bad to come on here and question the heart of a group of high school girls. I get that there is competition between the two schools, but the players all seem to like each other and the coaches seem friendly. Let the girls play the game and lets avoid criticizing 15-18 year old high school girls. Lets not lose our perspective.

  16. Wow, you really take this girls high school basketball real serious. Clam down, it is if you move and the school bus is zoned for another school, you can play at the other school. I got the info from TSSAA made a call . They told me players have done this in mid season. You can call and ask also and please findout how players that do live in Loudon and play in Knox County, would love to know how thats done. I mean not paying Knox taxes and all to go to school here. Hey if Bearden players are not a threat, then you dont have to sweat it.

That is really well said sounds a lot like my earlier post

"Also, you need to check the TSSAA handbook yourself the rules are all about establishing a high school athletic record then having a valid "change of address". I assume the Bearden coach and AD did their homework so there shouldn't be a problem"

Also, you see that I mentioned that all of Bearden's players affairs are in order and there shouldn't be a problem, so not sure what you are hinting at about Farragut and implications you are making about the eligibility of a high school girl. To me that is the person who is taking girls basketball a little too serious. But hey we all know who you are bballdad4lyfe aka 3ball4ever aka Father of a Sophomore Guard at Bearden so I'm sure you have made a lot of friends with your previous posts in this and other topics.

  17. Really, you dont know the TSSAA handbook.Yes they are in the same basketball district , but not same school bus district. MAKES A DIFFERENCE. I ACTUALLY GOT THAT FROM A TSSAA EMPLOYEE! I was told you could play half season at one school and if you move outside the school bus district , YOU CAN PLAY. I guess Farragut did there checking also.

That is the most incorrect thing I have ever read on CoachT and that is really saying something. You need to ask the TSSAA Janitor again..because there is no mention of "school bus district" its just your school zone. The handbook will tell you that once a player "practices" with a team for 3 days they are no longer eligible if they attend a different school without applying for an eligibility hardship. I also love that you created a term called "school bus district" . Does a "school bus district" have a board member, a coach of the year, president, chancellor? I feel cheated that i have lived in Knox county all theses years and never participated in my "school bus district".

  18. Check your TSSAA handbook, Denton is eligible to play. If you move from one district to another you can play. Not sure how it works if you live in a different county though, say you live in Loudon and play in a Knox county school, not sure how people do that. If you dont think Denton can contribute much, check her west valley stats , leading scorer of all time, she can contribute, given the opportunity to play . Denton scored 14 points against Heritage, hit 4 3's. That aside , Norwood, Pheifer, Goddard, Carter , Kim all bring something to the table. Yes looking very forward to this match up.

Its to good to have you back " bballdad4lyfe" and your non biased inside views on basketball especially Bearden. Also, you need to check the TSSAA handbook yourself the rules are all about establishing a high school athletic record then having a valid "change of address". I assume the Bearden coach and AD did their homework so there shouldn't be a problem. Where you are going or coming from in terms your District or County does not matter(unless private/public 20 mile rule) ..however I am surprised you didn't know that Farragut and Bearden are both in the same district and shockingly the same county (Knox)..but you are still bringing the good info keep at it
