To my understanding this is an extreme worry to many citizens, especially in the Dyersburg community. Many parents worry about their children going to school where there is a boys soccer team just for this reason. Thoughts about this topic and what should be done.

Yeah...we had to spend a ton putting new grass down this year, and since its "rotary" field you would figure they would foot that bill. If they paid for the field, bleachers, all of that then I understand..but if not it seems like they are taking advantage of the kids. Lions club down in Forrest spends a fortune on the sports programs there. I don't see them fundraising out of the kids pockets. Something doesn't add up, but being an outsider to the area I may not know the whole story. Would love to hear it. Noticed obion county tries to be equal with all their schools, but in weakley Westview gets 27000 for renting UTM stadium from the district and the other schools get ???? for upkeep on their field. We share our field with JR high along with two other schools. I understand they need more seats at Martins middle field, maybe parking...but to throw away 27000 grand seems a little unbalanced to the outsiders eye. Kids in Dresden, GLeason, and Greenfield seem to be getting the shaft. Not complaining, just stating the obvious. Questions questions questions. Please give an answer if your more knowing than this old guy.

Maybe if Dresden, Gleason, and Greenfield weren't absolutely terrible the county would give them more of the budget.That maybe could answer this old guys question. Just stating the obvoius

I know most west tennessee football fans know that gibson hasn't had extremely good teams over the past few seasons but hopes are alive for a complete turn around this season. The quarterback position is up for grabs but personally i would be very surprised if Cameron Johnson doesn't win this position out right this spring. He has quick feet, great arm, and a very athletic physique. They have several players on the preseason mr. football watch list. Look for Ziggi Kinton to be a dual threat both carrying the ball and causing havoc in the backfield, he also has great size. If they can get passed milan, this team may be rolling into Cookville. WATCH OUT ALCOA!!!!

This is a very skilled player that is a dual threat both offensively and defensively. He comes into the seson as somewhat of a dark horse after a nose injury really held him back last season. He was recently put on probation, lets hope this doesn't affect his play this season.

I hear from a good source that gibson county has a very talented squad this year, many returning upperclassmen. Dyersburg may have a challenger for the district crown this year.

heard from reliable source that westview is planning on starting their jv team against dresden in the big week zero show down. now maybe dresden can hang within 30 points of westview

Merritt spence from westview should be a standout player this year. An injury has held him back a little, but once he becomes healthy, look for him to start having big games. Miles Gearin will also anchor the defense this year. Try to score on him.
