  1. mosquitos weren't the only things out there for blood tonight. Soddy killed it out there. even with their ace out, riverdale was no match for Tori. riverdales coach lost it for his girls, now he has to figure out a way to build fire in their bellies for tomorrow against Beech. they did it last year, but can they do it this year, i really don't think so. but i wish them tons of luck trying.

  2. i'm going with BEECH, they have the whole package, great pitching and defense and their hitting is coming together perfectly. you have to have back to back hitting. can't have one hit here then 2 outs then a hit here, needs to be together, and that is where Beech has the advantage. Curious on who they would be playing though. Soddy and Riverdale are equally matched, can't wait to see that game.

CONGRATULATIONS to all the teams who made it to state, and GOOD LUCK

  3. there are alot of names that are on there that shouldn't be on there and there are names that aren't there that should be there. guess it's all a matter of opinion. whose? we just don't know. well, congrats to all

  4. Well its about time for these 24 teams to make the hard earned trip to the “Boro”. There is going to be a couple of things different around the park this year at the “State Tournament”……..SODDY IS BACK & GOODPASTURE will not be playing at the “Boro”this year. I’m sure everyone is very excited & wondering who is going to win their first round game so I’m going to go ahead & make my prediction of who the first day “WINNERS” will be….

    “A”

    Forrest over Friendship

South Fulton over University School JC.

    E.Robertson over Unaka

    Trinity over Grace Baptist

    “AA”

    Westview over Meigs

    Unicoi over Camden

    Covington over Chatt. Central

    Greenbrier over Gibbs

    “AAA”

    Ravenwood over Jefferson

    Riverdale over Brighton

    Soddy over Daniel Boone

    Beech over Collierville

There you go…..I’m sure there will be a few surprises…I can see Camden surprising anyone! Grace is very good & could also shock some folks in single A! SODDY is back…did I already say that? Riverdale is playing very well & had to beat some very good teams to get back to the “boro” & maybe better prepared for the competition they will face this week. Should be a great Tournament!! Good Luck to All! :)

  7. Wow, there sure are a lot of critics out here! I am a Soddy Daisy resident and played softball 29 years back when Sam Mills was coach. A lot of things have changed since those days. I don't remember seeing all the negativity about girls who work hard, make good grades and try their very best. Something is wrong with parents and students who try to see the bad things rather than focus on the good.

I have been a Lady Trojans fan for a very long time and I have seen some of the good and bad teams pass through this school. I have no connection with any of the players/parents on this team other than I am a Soddy Daisy Lady Trojans fan. I believe Clifford Kirk to be one of the best coaches in the area. All you have to do is look at his record, and quite frankly my friends that stands for itself. As far as these girls not saving him if he were drowning, I believe if you were to take a poll, NOT ONE of the girls on his team would throw him under the boat. That I can promise you.

You have 3 seniors who signed with Tennessee Wesleyen this year. They have played ball from what I understand since they were very young girls. If they want to carry that talent to a school within an hour of their hometown, then that is their choice. I don't blame them. Going to college is a big step and an education so important. Look at the Wesleyen statistics, merit not gossip my friends.

You have Brooke Ward, who I think has a 4.0 grade point average. She is obviously a top notch student who was also crowned Miss Soddy Daisy this year. Obviously she has a great personality and her peers think very highly of her.

You have Brandi Lasley. This kid is nothing short of amazing. She has a high grade point average dont quote me but I think it is in the 3.8 range and scored amazing on her ACT test. She is friendly, always has a smile on her face and is another great role model to the girls on her team.

You have Taylor Wilson. She is the catcher for Soddy Daisy. She also has had an amazing year even after the loss of her father in December. This was something that has to be hard for her since she understands how her dad loved to watch her play ball. Taylor also has diabetes and sometimes has difficulty with her levels as I have watched her mother scramble to make sure she is okay. She is a wonderful young girl and also a great role model.

I would suggest before posting negatives about these kids you take a look into your own mirror and decide what you would want other people posting about your kids. Can they stand up to the scrutiny these young girls have? Probably not, look at what their parents have posted in a negative way about children they know absolutely nothing about.

I wish the Lady Trojans a continued wonderful season and I hope to see you in the state championship!

    WELL SAID good luck SD

  8.

All teams listed above are quality choices. With Hamilton County being in East Tennessee, I find it hard to believe that Soddy Daisy is not at the top of list. I would also include Walker Valley and Meigs County. I've seen Maryville, Elizabethton and many of the others play and none have the horses to play with Soddy (and I'm not even a big fan of Soddy). Just my observations.

Until looking it up I didn't realize East TN stretched that far myself. Haven't seen Soddy in a couple years, but I've seen most of the teams listed here and I've seen some of the teams from other areas that Soddy has dominated.

From the teams mentioned here in ET top 10's, they gave good solid spankings to William Blount, Powell, Farragut and Walker Valley. I would pretty much have to agree with the assessment of 3rdbasecoach.

Powell lost to Soddy by a score of 3-1. Powell made two errors to give Soddy one of those runs. That does not suggest a spanking as you say. Soddy is the best aaa team mainly because of their pitching. They will win the state tournament this year.

i wouldn't go as far as to say that soddy will win state this year. their are many teams that jave a shot. beech being one of them. lincoln counties pitcher can take her team far. think this year is all up in the air. any team can be beatin on any given day. go beech, go cat.

  9. what about the current state champions from Murfreesboro? the riverdale lady warriors? heard they have this awesome sophmore pitcher that dominates in the circle. averages over 12 k's a game? anyone know anything about her? what about that team? they surprised everyone last year. they may try and do it again. I bet beech comes through this year. but i would never count out soddy. can't wait to see them two play.

Riverdale's pitcher is very solid in the circle. However I do not think she is good enough yet to hold down a high powered offense. When she pitched against Creek Wood she gave up three homeruns. Riverdale is very talented and well coached but not quite good enough to win state again this year. :flower:

i agree with you there. i don't think she has the maturity as a leader. she is in it for herself right now. hopefully she'll learn and grow up a little. but, can also say that it is great not to hear that darn drum. if it is banging, we can hardly hear it. i think they will go down hill and down hill fast.
