  1. Riverside played very tough, physical football through 8 games. They TANKED in the last 2 games! I hope they're ashamed of the last 2 games and get back to the team they're capable of being. Very hard to make a prediction because of this unknown. Go Panthers!!!

  2. Check the stats, and the score. We wouldn't have needed the interception in the end zone if the ref right next to the play had made the right call. The only reason WC had the ball at that time was, we fummbled after being on the ground. The ground can't cause a fumble, a fact lost on the ref nearest our sideline. We were driving at that time as well. Ward knocked defenders down all night with the stiff arm, we were much more physical all night and led the entire game. I'm not saying we're great, but from my perspective we were much better than WC.

  3. If Wayne County fans are most excited about the defense they will be highly disappointed this year. Far as hitting and being physical, Riverside was most physical, better executed, and grinded Wayne County out. Far as overall coaching, Riverside was out coached, but Wayne County had too many mistakes. Seems that was the Cats game to win but couldn't take it. Also seemed like Riverside coach wasn't really worried about putting the game away since he put in their freshman qb for a whole series when the game could have been out of reach for the Cats if #3 Ward would have stayed in the game. I expect Riverside to have about the same year as last year and maybe better. Wayne County about the same as last year or worse! Good luck to both! BTW Riverside will get killed by Lexington next week! ha

I agree with some of your points, however, I don't understand why you think it was Wayne Co's game to win. They never led! Riverside was 13 points ahead with 2 minutes to play. Panthers dominated this one, margine could've been several more points if we'd gone for 2 each time. Missed 2 pat's and 2 fg, that's 8 more potential points. Great game Panthers! Yes, this week at Lexington will be different.

  4. Congrats to FCS on a well deserved championship. Would have liked to have seen Silverdale's #1 or #2 pitcher against FCS, but they had to burn both of them to get past Riverview. May not have ended any different, but may have been tighter at the end.

FCS's pitcher was very tough. The most dominant I saw all week. The team played solidly around him too. FCS is a great team & got a well deserved championship!

You don't follow high school baseball much huh...lol

  5. If Scott's hill is no good then riverside isn't either right?

That's right, we're not any good...lol, Scotts Hill has to manufacture runs, their hits are bloops over the infield and bunts. They are very good at what they do but once you figure out how to defend that, you can shut them down (regional champioship 11-1). Just look at the records in each bracket, should be FCA on Friday. Teams in our bracket are 111-20, the other bracket 81-44, take FCA out and they're 52-38, that says it all!

  6. Tonight Dresden won against TWO teams...Riverside and the Refs. The refs tried as hard as they could to walk the ball into the endzone for the Panthers. But our boys never gave up. They played a great game. Just be warned, if you push or knock one of our guys in the head, they will come back and play that much harder.

Are you kidding me...I've never seen so many cheap shots in a game as Dresden took in one drive! How in the world number 20 wasn't ejected I'll never understand, he threw 2 or 3 punches on our reciever who was on the ground at the time. If TSSAA gets a look at this tape Dresden may not have enough players left to play Huntigdon!

  7. Warbritton was a beast tonite, great game.

Yes, Warbritton was a beast but so was Ward. I think this was a much closer game than a lot of you Mustangs expected. Warbritton's spead was the difference but I was proud to see a very young Panther team go toe to toe with a great Huntingdon squad.

  8. Apologies in order for the SP fans that did this. This is NOT representative of our community and our team!!

I know, and that's my point, I'm sure we have a few fans that are over the top but who doesn't. When you get on a public forum and call someone else classless, you probably need to look in the mirror. I love to win and hate to lose, but this year I've realized...it's just a game.

  9. With the whining and complaining I see at these games, I don't think I'd be calling anyone else classless. SP fans yelling at our coaches and players, having to be removed by security! Davidson Academy fan confronting USJ coach after the game. I'm sure everyone has a big mouth or two in the crowd, including your school. As for Riverside players trying to get hit, I see our boys try to hide the fact they were hit unless it's obvious, they want to hit it, not get hit. Lastly, until you've lost you're best player in the middle of the season and had to console a bunch of devastated teenagers who lost a friend...don't complain, it's just a game! I know we've been better than you for a while but that'll change, these streaks don't last forever so we're just enjoying the ride while we can. GO BIG BLUE!

  10. IMHO, I think the brackets are fairly even. If I had to choose a more difficult bracket I would say it is the bottom bracket. I think Friendship and Eagleville are two of the top three teams in the tournament and they are on the same side of the bracket. I think Grace is a stronger team then we have typically seen from the East. And I think Huntington is a very good well-rounded team. Riverside's bracket has by far the weakest team in the tournament, in North Greene. And Cascade is great when Carkuff is on the mound but not great when he is not on the mound. Dont know much about SP but they dont seem to be grat.

Kind of what you expect, Riverside #1 seed, Cascade prob #4. Friendship #2 and eagleville #3. That's typically how brackets are set, and that's the way this looks.

Please Correct and Re-post if I have any mistakes.

  13. I believe that Riverside is still a really good team even with the tragic loss of Gant. They will be back to the fling this year but it will be a true challenge to win it all this year.

I think the top 3 teams in single A are and in no order:

    FCS

    Riverside

    Eagleville

I would agree 100% with both points. If Riverside's young pitchers, Jordan Goff and Alec Hayes continue like they've been, the Panthers could make a good run. Ryne Fisher and Nolen Smith can get it done as the 1 and 2.
