  1. Kirkwood has not played a team that will hit them like Dickson will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Their apponents have not won a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dickson will destroy them up front. Dickson is very physical and does not show any mercy.  This game Kirkwood remembers for a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dickson 42-0.

  2. I agree with Clarksville High being the one to beat in this region. I have seen them up close and they are well coached. Coach Shelby runs a great scheme offensively (gun triple option). Their defense flys around too!  Dickson County has the talent to do well in this region. Dickson returns 10 starters on defense and they play fast and physical. The offense if finding its groove also.  Pounding the rock and throwing occasionally. This team as a whole is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball.  Coach Tomlinson and his staff have instilled the play physical mentality, playing fast and being "locked in" on every play.  They are on the edge of being something special soon.  Getting their first region win against Northeast tonight will be a big step in the right direction.   "Cougar Pride"!!!!!

I'm opening the door of discussion about the upcoming season for the defending Class 4A state champion Tullahoma Wildcats.

They open the season at home against Shelbyville on Thursday, Aug. 18.

They have a new head coach in Coy Sisk.

They must play Marshall County, Pearl Cohn, and Montgomery Central on the road. All three were ranked in the Top 10 last year.

They lost 22 seniors and have a small but talented rising senior class.

Can they challenge for a third consecutive region crown?

Central lost 22 Seniors. 10 of 11 starters on defense and similiar numbers offensively.  This will be a rebuilding year for a relatively young team in a very tough region.

  4. Yes. I was there.  Most did not notice the walking wounded on Central's sideline.  They were without their FB who broke his leg, Central's Senior linebacker and leading tackler, and another linebacker who also broke his leg.  These injuries were sustained during the Southside game in which I firmly believe their players were instructed to be ankle biter's.  They could not tackle Central's FB any other way.  It is unfortunate Central could not go into the 2 games with Tullahoma at full strength.  I will be the first to admit, likely would not have made a difference in the outcome of both games.  They are certainly the best team from top to bottom that Central has faced in many years.  Tullahoma played their 2's the entire 2nd half and Central did so also, with the exception of Central playing a freshmen quarterback who led them down the field running triple option for a late TD.  Enough of that.  I am rooting for Tullahoma to go all the way this year.  They have 22 seniors on their squad and this seems to be their best shot at a title.  They will be a little down next year, but still favored in region 5-4A.

  5. The first game their were two offensive turnovers that were returned for TD's.  Central's D held them to two TD's and forced three FG's. Central will pound the rock and Central's defense will bring pressure from everywhere.  Their OL will be guessing all night where are they coming from. It will be a chess match. Their defense has been very consistent and I don't expect anything less from them.  If Central can pull off an upset they will host either Pearl or Hardin County.  More than likely Pearl.  I know they would love to get their hands on Brown again.   I do think Tullahoma is a great team, BUT that is why the game is played between the lines.  "GO INDIANS".

  6. MC's defense contained #7 all night.  However, in the 3rd he had a 23 yard run and a 60 yard run in the 4th.  Centrals offense moved the ball but could not punch it in a few times.  Some untimely penalties also shot Centrals offense in the foot.  Field conditions got worse as the night went on but did not seem to affect either team.  Pearl Cohn tried to convert on 4th down 3 times and was denied.  I think Central proved they can play with just about anyone. The players are hungry and ready for the play-offs.

  7. Central pulled most of its starters early in the second quarter against Hillwood.  Score could have been much more lopsided.  In the Creek Wood game their were some miscues offensively that stalled drives.  Final score should have been at least 28-7.  No doubt Tullahoma checks all the boxes to being a really good team. Offense, defense, special teams. Their size up front will make it tough for Central to deal with most definitely.  A perfect game by Central will be needed to pull off an upset.

  8. Travel. Gate $$$$.  A nine team region does not make any sense at all. Centrals toughest games will be against Henry County and Clarksville Northeast.  They will be very competitive against the remaining teams in that region.  Central will be much improved offensively and their defense returns 9 starters.  Looks good for the Indians!!

  9. Central has all players back this week except one who is out for the season with a broken finger.  That player tested positive prior to his surgery.  Game should go on as expected.  Heard #9 (QB) for White House went out during the Creekwood game.  Looking forward to a hard fought game with Central edging out White House for the win. MC 21-17.

  10. WHH came out and scored 2 TD's in first quarter.  Central's defense shut them down for the rest of the game.  A late fumble in the 4th quarter resulted in a scoop and score which was the nail in the coffin for Central.  This was a hard fought game with WHH coming out on top. Kudos to them.  Central's team was not suppose to be any where close to the top in this region.  The players and coaching staff worked their butts off to make this happen.  A 7-3 season and not to get into the playoffs is unreal.  I just looked at some brackets and their is a 1-9 team into the playoffs.  This is insane!!!!!!!!!!!  TSSAA needs to fix this mess.

  11. Region is setting up to be barn burner week 10.  Creekwood has Springfield at home and Central has White House Heritage at home.  If both teams win out Central will be 1 and Creekwood 2.  Central owns tie-breaker over Creekwood. Cloudy after that.  Should be Portland and Springfield? Both teams control their own desitny.  A good thing.
