  1. Wartburg brings alot back and seems to be the preseason front runner, In my opinion it will go down like this... 1. Wartburg 2. Oliver Springs 3. Oneida 4. Coalfield (Could be 3rd and Oneida 4th) 5. Oakdale 6. Sunbright 7. Jellico ... What do you think?
  2. Harriman will be good but both of these teams will be. I cant wait to see them play when the season comes around. It should be very competitive and I could see those 2 teams in the region championship at the end of the year!!! Can't wait it will be exciting baseball
  3. There is a lot of good basketball going on in the regions 1 and 2 in single A, but who is the best teams around there and who will come out on top?
  4. It's Christmas time and time for the holiday tournaments. Who all is going to be at the Harriman Christmas Classic? What will be some good games to watch?
  5. I didn't say Harriman wouldn't have been better but i know Wartburg would've been alot better to. WArtburg had a lot of young kids playing and that whole team really matured fast and were a much better team than they were supposed to be, but my point is they were young and not as good in the beginning of the year. All those young kids will be back and much better this year and i could see them competing with anybody alot beter this year.
  6. Wartburg played a large part of the game with atleast 3 bench players in at a time and a good part of the 2nd half with only sophomores in the game. They stepped up and played big and Wartburg is a team. They are playin as a team and it will stay that way!!
  7. True Harriman did beat Wartburg but they din't blow them out by no means. the final score was 7 to 3 but like i said Wartburg was a very young team last year and had trouble hitting especially in the beginning of the year which was when they played Harriman. If they played later in the year it would've been a much better game. Wartburg really matured and ot better through the year and i see them to step up and hit alot better this year and even be better in the field.
  8. Harriman and Rockwood are usually at the top in their district. Wartburg and Oliver Springs are always tough teams to beat in their district. Wartburg was young last year and didn't lose much and all those kids will be older. Harriman didn't lose anyting from a very good team. I know Rockwood and OZ both lost their #1 pitcher, but I'm not sure what else they will have to replace.
  9. The Wartburg boys are putting it all together. They are realizing that they have a lot of talent but they can't win on talent alone. They have to play as a team and when they do it will be hard to beat them. The Dawgs are very deep and the bench did play very well when the starters were in foul trouble. I would say the amount of players they can play is what gives them the advantage to be a top team this year. If the boys keep working hard they will be hard to stop. I can't wait!!!
  10. From where I was i didn't see much whopping of the dawgs starters or their bench friday night. The Dawgs were in foul trouble the whole time and still won easily. They are playing good ball right now!!
  11. Harriman will be great at home but I will be watching tonight to see if they can beat a good team on the road!
  12. Dawgs win in a close one.. They are playin good ball and playing as a team. Wartburg will surprise some ppl this year.
  13. It will be a great game for both teams, but by no means will either team blow the other out of the gym. I look for the dawgs to jump out hard on them, but then Harriman fight back in it. In the end it will come down to the wire and will all depend on who can finish. I don't think I've ever been to a Harriman/Wartburg game that hasn't been exciting and fast paced and this will be no exception. If Wartburg plays as a team for 4 quarters they will win, and could beat anybody playing like that, but if they don't play together then they will lose because Harriman is too good for any let down. I think the Dawgs win by 7 in a close one. It will come down to free throws and rebounds.
  14. You sound just a little bit to cocky in that 1 buddy. Don't get me wrong Harriman will be a good team, but Wartburg will be too. There is no need in putting Wartburg down like that. The attitude in that last post is the kind of attitude that will make a good team come up shorter than they should've. Wartburg is going to be very good and have a lot of kids that can play good ball. Harriman better be in good shape or the dawgs will run them in the ground!!
  15. Maybe so, but they are still a bigger school. All I'm trying to say is this Wartburg team seems alot more commited and work harder than last years team already. Neither team lost much from the year before, just a few players on each team, when they played at Alcoa and Alcoa beat them bad. i'm just glad to see things lookin good for the dawgs!
  16. I can't wait 2 be at that game. It will be very fast paced and fun to watch. They will be the teams to beat in region 2
  17. Wartburg lost by around 9 in a very exciting game. The dawgs came out strong in the 1st quarter, but then Alcoa fought back hard and were up 3 at the half. In the 2nd half the lead changed numerous times and was fun to watch. it stayed close until about 2 minutes left in the game when Alcoa pulled away. All in all a great game for the dawgs and if they play like that they shouldn't be beat in the district and could beat anybody if they play to full potential and play team ball!
  18. Bitterfan you tell me what you are supposed 2 do.. Turn the ball over on purpose? It is still up to the other team to make a stop.. Just because your getting beat doesn't mean the game is over. Both teams still play hard out there. And you said that 16 and 11 was in the game. No they wasn't think about the interception Wartburg threw right before all of this happened.. That wasn't 11 that threw that pass and 16 wasn't one of the one he was throwing to or he wasn't any reciever out there. So know what your talking about before u start trashing Wartburg coaches on here. There is NO EXCUSE for how 30 for OZ reacted to the game. Even if there is trash talk going on. Every team does it and you can't go fight every player that says something to you. Oh and you should look at some of the OZ/Wartburg scores from the last few years.. And I haven't seen Wartburg players starting fights over it out there
  19. Haha nice one twoshot... Ole Tiger did get one thing right though... The dogs did score in the 4th qtr but not against the subs lol
  20. Well well well great win for the dogs tonight. Wartburg comes out on top 41 to 21. Great job to the boys and you all played your hearts out. You deserve it all but don't be satisfied with a great season. Keep it rolling and make this a good playoffs... Oh and Ole Tiger i believe your prediction was a little off (42-6 sunbright).. What's is your opinion on the game I can't wait to hear.
  21. I think Wartburg will play great this friday night.. coming off the last lose 2 coalfield they beat a very good Rockwood team and i believe the same will happen this week. OZ played great last week and Wartburg played awful and it was still very close. Wartburg will make the adjustments needed from last week and will be focused 4 this one. It will be a great game, but Wartburg pulls this one out by 2 touchdowns. Hopefully after this game is over Ole Tiger's trash talk bout the dawgs will stop
  22. Wartburg's Spence #16 is very good... a big play maker and one of the fastest kids I've seen. U also can never forget Hutchinson #58 who was an all-state linebacker last year.
  23. Great win 4 the dogs. Defense was very impressive!! Keep it up boys this is a special year.
  24. I think that he will be a great contributer for Jellico, but the dawgs are fast and very deep in the bench. Richardson for Wartburg is a post player that is very underrated and works hard in the post and can play wth the best of them. On the other hand Fountain is quick and can JUMP. I heard Mallicoate has slowed down also and Wartburg's guards an quick and like to run when they have a chance. I look for the Dawgs to pull through and get another District championship, mostly because of depth and good coaching. could be a few upsets and a great year for basketball around here.
  25. I agree completely i think it will be a great year for district 4 and should be some good competitive teams
