  1. So the general consensus is that the top three teams are in 7-AAA. Riverdale's transfers have been discussed. I would be interested in hearing if any of the other two team in the top "3" have had any transfers join their team, or have they all been together thru their feeder programs.

I don't remember everyone making such a big deal out of the score last year when Riverdale beat Lavergne 103 to 10. So why now?

Were they reprimanded? Did they issue a public apology? No? How dare they!

(This is 100% sarcasm by the way)

I'm guessing you guys don't live in Middle Tennessee. Yes Riverdale received a great deal of negative pub because of this game. A local tv station even did a story about it with player interviews and also a sport psychologist.

  3. I can give you that Doug.

I was just making the comparison that if the thought is you have to be what is considered a MAJOR D-1 program to get on the list. (ie... N. Davis going to the #1 program currently in the country).........I have not heard of any of the guys committing to a team considered a top 5 or even top 10.

Even at that I certainly am glad to see these young men get this recognition. I think it is an honor to be nominated.

I think more of our TN young ladies deserve the nominations as well.

  4. I will agree that Nina Davis is a very good player. You cannot convince me that there is only one player in TN deserving of this nomination. Look at the list; Arkansas has 9, Florida and Georgia both have 15, Iowa has 23, Missouri has 22, Oklahoma has 42, and the list can go on. The state of TN has players as good and better that a vast number on this list. Look at the list of male players nominated from TN.... 26. These 26 males are not Major D-1 players there might be 2 (maybe).

An easy example is two seniors girls from Riverdale HS in Murfreesboro. They are going on to play at a top 25 college and currently have won two AAA State Championships and one runner-up.

I think the person or persons responsible for the nominations in TN have a different viewpoint than those in other states. It appears to me in TN they are trying to determine the best of the best (their pick for Miss Basketball possibly) as opposed to other states where they appear to reward and recognize good players that have had success at the HS level with this nomination.

  6. I do believe nina davis is ranked number 1 in the state and if they played one on one the baylor commit would win and middleton will be like nina next year she wont have those top players around her so lets see how she does next year she is not the best player on her team now look at the stats.

What statistical criteria are you using to make your decision? What are the numbers?

  7. Looks like they both were struggling from the line. Columbia was 5-12 and Riverdale was 6-12 in the 4th quarter. Per the Daily Herald. Three of Riverdale's 6 misses were front ends of a one-one. CCHS did not shoot a one-one in the second half....all trips were two tries and RHS had 4 of5 starters with 4 fouls midway thru the final period. It was an intense game but sad that the facilities at CCHS are so ill maintained. Neither of the two clocks in the gym functioned and the buzzer was a handheld air horn.

  9. Another example of how good the girls in Tennessee are and especially Middle TN. TN Flight take the championship in both the National and Junior divisions of the Elite Tournament. Here are a couple good reads and a good watch regarding the tourney.
