So next year, do they go after Richland?  All of the remaining teams next year could refuse to play them and decree forfeits for Richland.

Absolutely disgusting this behavior is permitted by the state governing body under the guise of letting each district determine their own tournament format.  This was never intended to allow what is taking place here, and this is not the first time as this happened last year in both boys and girls basketball.  Permitting this behavior is an endorsement.

    Bylaws - Article I, Section 9

"All coaches must conduct themselves in a manner becoming of a coach and representative of the school."

How about BLATANT lying about recruiting?  Is that acceptable behavior?

  2. I would rather see the Region Tournament be similar to the NCAA format for regionals - 4 teams, double elimination tournament.  At worst you would be done by Thursday instead of Wednesday (2 games Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, if necessary on Thursday).  The sub-state would follow the NCAA Super Regional format - 2 teams, best of 3.  Play a DH on Friday, if necessary on Saturday.

There are folks the world over picking fantasy teams for all sorts of sports.  I propose doing it a different way.

Pick your 'fantasy' HS Coaching staff.

Here are the Coaches slots you need to fill

    1.  Head Coach - Eric Swenson

    2. Offensive Coordinator - Calvin Zemer

    3. Defensive Coordinator - Jason Scharsch

    4. O-line Coach - Joe Davis

    5. D-line Coach - Steve Britton

    6. Linebacker Coach - Jeff Robertson

    7. RB Coach - Nick Patterson

    8. Receiver Coach - Chris DiChara

    9. D-back Coach - Tab Vowell

    10. Special Team Coach Blake Butler

    11. Kicking Coach ????

No limit on the area you can choose from, but they need to be a current High School Coach some where.

  4. Probably only 4-5 times.  Ricky Taylor was the coach there for several years.  Seems like the guy they hired after him was diagnosed with blood cancer after he was hired and died within 6 months, and Troy Hughes held it for a year on an interim basis.  Then Moos?  And then Holt?  Am I correct?  So besides some bad luck, not really a revolving door.

Oh wow. If she does leave, who ever gets the MC job will have some work to do, but if they do it the right way, they will have a ton of support.

A ton of support?  Isn't this the same school that recently let the head football, head boys basketball, and head girls basketball coaches go all in the same year?  Over some made up bull about tenure?

  6. These splits between schools, public/private or open/zoned, is the lazy answer.  If the TSSAA would actually try to enforce the recruiting rules, the playing field would be more level.

Why is it that a one MS/HS town/county can't allow their 8th graders to participate in open facilities, but its perfectly ok for a school like Columbia Academy to not only allow but INVITE 8th graders from any number of schools nearby to stand on their sidelines on Friday nights during football games?

I'll answer my own question - its because the TSSAA isn't interested.

From what I’ve been told grundy is not interested in the  Notre Dame strength coach or coach price because they don’t want to pay them.  I guess they’ll go back to the discount coaching and end up with another disaster. I’ve had people reach out wanting me and Jensen to help in the weight room and conditioning, but I wouldn’t go near that school. I don’t trust the principle or the director. These are the two  geniuses who wanted to suspend my boys and said in front of a few people we can’t let them get away with this. I don’t know what that means because my boys weren’t even there, and now there reward is going to school with a principal and School board director that doesn’t like them and when they need help with a subject they have to go outside Grundy and get it because the some teachers won’t hardly look at them. The other day my son had a report due and he turned it in and the teacher docked him 15 points for being late because class started at 8 and he turned it in at 805. Anyone who knows my boys would know they look at an 80 like an f. This is the School who’s math teacher told my son last year that he’s an A student he’ll figure it out.

Sounds like you need to run for school board

I think Houston County, East Hickman, and Jackson County could go to different regions if needed.  The issues with drawing lines is in Mid TN in 2A.  I think Regions 1, 3, 7, and 8 are pretty cut and dried.
