Webb, I would say there was 11 to 12 thousand people there this year at finley, its hard to put a number on the games at Baylor but it is very special on campus. My guess would be 7000 or so.
The game at finley in the 2010 season i would guess 15 thousand.

they beat Bradley Central which is a 6A team they went to the playoffs at Bradley and based on your response you agree giles has played NOBODY!!! With regard to the polls, you know as well as I do they are a complete waste of time. Half the people that vote in those polls don't even go to high school games, they depend on people like you to tell them how good their beloved Bobcats are and I'm just not buying it. Get over it you know your time is limited so keep on talking maybe someone will buy into it.
-
you only have 13 seniors on your roster, one of those is the kicker and at least 2 or 3 don't play at all. So where is this vast expierence coming from. What you are expierenced at is talking and at 7 tomorrow night the talking won't do you any good. I will say the QB is special and the SS and RB is very good but overall just can't stack up with the Canes.
-
I will take East Hamilton big, I have seen nothing from Giles to show they can stay on the field. I think they are too young and lost too much off last years team to play with the Canes.
I say Canes 34-10
-
I will take BA after seeing both in person they have better players overall. The MUS QB did impress me though. My heart wants me to pick MBA but if I was betting the farm I would have to take corn and friends. But if and I know its a big IF they can find a way to control corn ensworth can't beat them.

I agree owl, I am a Baylor parent I didn't see any execution mistakes I think baylor played really well against a really good team.
I agree it will be a high scoring game the defense that steps up the most will win this game. My pick is MUS by 3 late.

wes you are almost correct the matchups are right but actually mccallie hosts the first round game
-
Yes chicago the player that went out on the play is fine he was checked out at the hospital and everything is good. Thanks for asking

I have not seen cbhs play this year, what are their strengths and weaknesses and who are their key players.

My question on this topic since the tssaa has nothing to do with ringgold what is the rule on a athlete that played in another state being eligible in a nearby state the following year?
-
I dont know which bracket youre using but the 4w 5e should be in the bottom half and the 4e 6e should be in the top according to tssaa.org brackets. also, mba has no chance at being 7 when they already beat father ryan. they will be 5 or 6 depending on if they beat mccallie or not.

How will Baylor look next year? 2011
I'm a Baylor parent so I may look at this through "BIG RED" glasses but I think Baylor will be very strong next year.
The offense that started the state title game has everyone back but Jacob and I realize that it's a tall order to replace the Mr Football winner, but this could be a special group next year.
The defense has 7 starters back from the state title game starters with loads of depth and talented kids ready to step up, once again some big shoes to fill but I think they will be up to the task.
If they continue to work hard great things will happen for this group.

Not so fast Skin the fat. Bring your popcorn. I have enjoyed your threads this year, but you are wrong on this one. This is our time. Destiny awaits. Have a great day.
Who are BGA playmakers, I know the qb is good does he have good targets and what about the o-line, can they give hime time to get the ball to anyone?
-
Sorry, just skidding into driveway after work! The only audio im aware of tonite is the one posted above. I don't think they are video streaming.
Go Blue!!!!!
Should be a great week with 4 really good match-ups. Can BGA go to Memphis and beat CBHS that would be awesome and save me some miles on my car. Slightly counting chickens before hatching, I know its your biggest rival but Baylor should handle mccallie.
I look for ensworth and BA to win, and then the semi-final games would be Baylor vs BGA/CBHS and BA/Ensworth and then another week off, hard to get in sync and stay there.
I really haven't seen anyhting to make me think that BGA can't go over to Memphis and win. They have good athletes a very good QB and good targets just hope they can make the trip and stay focused.

What does everyone think, Baylor seemed to control first game with realitive ease. I think more of the same, the OL and QB are too good at Baylor.
My prediction is
Baylor 31
Mccallie 12

I think we need to focus on BC this week! Long ride over. Understand their starting QB went out a couple of weeks ago with a broken collarbone. I'm sure they have other weapons in their arsenal. We have to protect the ball and execute. We cannot shoot ourselves in the foot or it will be a really long ride home.
That being said, Bluedad says he believes M-B split in 1974 with B taking the first and M taking the second. But can you imagine.... 2 rivalry weeks in one year! Wow! I vote the split and starting a new streak!
bluemom what is the website to watch mccaliie game tonite?

I dont understand your point with major markets....all DII AA schools are right outside or in the middle of a big city. Also, I have no idea why anyone on Baylor's side would want to see another B/M matchup. You wanna talk about pressure? McCallie's got nothing to lose. A scary week for Baylor leading up to the game if it happens, which it probably will because the West is a joke this year especially. The best thing the TSSAA could do is combine the 2 and have them play in regular season.
Ps landro- your id isnt hard to figure out, but good job keeping your posts on the neutral side
Thanks wareagle not trying to hide and really not trying to be nuetral just love hearing opinions and the passion other areas have for their football
With regard to the Baylor Mccallie match-up I can understand the pressure thing but I look at it as a great chance to beat the rival twice in the same year, when was the last time they even played twice in one year, has it ever happened?

Sort of a pointless statement, harkening back to a "debate" we had on here several years back about how ridiculous it was that the D2 championships one year were held on the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, and not televised, or even(if memory serves) available for streaming on the internet. One silly poster tried to argue that advertising decisions were the reason why the games weren't televised. We are all in the biggest markets, so (if advertising were somehow a factor here, which it isn't) we'd be the most desirable from among the various championship game options to sponsor/televise. So it must be something else.
I also do not understand the thursday deal really seems to me we have too many classifications for the size of our state. But that's only 1 issue.
I think it waters down the competition and still do not get why the private schools are in their own classification, yes they offer financial aid, but at the end of the day every school and every coach out there do their best to get the kids they want. I believe Georgia takes the number of students enrolled at the private school times 1.5 for classification purposes and public and private play each other regular season and playoffs.
Tennessee needs 4 classes at the most and really could be great with only 3.

I heard they ordered extra porta potties!
I don't know who has the easiest path to the championship game. I am however looking forward to some good football. I am also hoping to make it out of the first round and Blue and Red rematch!
I agree bluemom I would love to see another baylor mccallie game this year. I do think this side of the bracket has the better draw, the team that makes it through ensworth, mba,ba and mus will have to dig deep to have enough left in the tank for the title game.
That too may be wishful thinking on my part. Good luck and be safe if you head to memphis.

After a disappointing loss for the owls, I expect them to rebound and have a comfortable win at home, especially since Briarcrest's QB is hurt. I think MUS should be able to put up a good amount of points against this Briarcrest defense. My prediction: 31-14 MUS
What is the prognosis on the qb from briarcrest is he out for the year or can he get back for the playoffs and if he did get back is he that big of a game changer that it would be a big deal? I haven't seen briarcrest play this year.

I think a lot of people are wondering if Baylor will snap out of some dream sequence they may be in. A loss before the playoffs could do wonders for a team and coming from a Baylor alum, I'd obviously rather seem them lose now rather than later. But at the same time, a lots at stake, #1 seed for the playoffs and home field, where Baylor has lost just one game in the last 2 seasons. We know Baylor's for real now, but I wonder if they can keep it going.
Ensworth 28
Baylor 35
I agree with your thoughts on when is the best time to lose but also agree every game in the playoffs until the title game played at home, THAT IS HUGE!!!
Baylor has great talent on both sides of the ball, good depth and the scary part is they are in reality a very young team with 8 starters on defense and 7 on offense being soph's and juniors.
If they continue to work hard and improve this could be a very special group.
My prediction is 24-15 Baylor.

If Baylor wins friday night they will host every playoff game until the state title game, much like the MUS vs CBHS match-up out west this week this is a HUGE game.
Also for ensworth I believe if they win this week and next against BGA they would be east-middle champs assuming BA beats MBA this week.
Heres looking to a great week of High School football.
Anyone familiar with rules please respond

its a tssaa rule so it doesn't matter if its private to public or public to private. As with all rules there can be exceptions for special circumstances. Using your example if a kids family could no longer afford the tuition and that was the only reason the kid was leaving the private school they could apply for a waiver and most likely it would be approved.
