  1. Why would he be at 145? Is that where he wants to be? After all, he's certified at 135. I'm sure he would like to see Wadell again but the risk is high when you are trying to win a dual match against your biggest rival.

Hmmm- I notice Cleveland wrestled 140 this weekend. Makes sense to me since he certified at 135. Why wrestle up if you don't have to?

  2. Should be close. I guess most would say that on paper Baylor should win. Weight bumping provides a variable. Even though the new weight management system limits this more than in the past, I think this match offers some opportunites, especialy for the Big Blue. One thing is for sure, it will be an exciting match.

  3. haha, I prefer my sarcasm over your seemingly complete idiocy.  Now that you've finally decided to bring facts rather than just saying that Dunning would kill him I will discuss it with you.  Yes, Manson defeated Bundy...Once in 8th grade and once when he was a freshman at the AAU state tournament.  If I remember correctly Bundy was pinned in 8th grade but only lost to Manson by a few points at the AAU tournament.  Using that logic Bundy should have lost to Coleman in the finals last year because hey, he lost to him in the state tournament the year before.  If you think I'm trying to take anything away from Dunning you are sorely mistaking, he's one of the most impressive wrestlers I've seen and believe that he will have an awesome college career.  Now you caught me, I have loyalties to Hendersonville  .  You've let my secret out, shame on you!  But believe me, I'm pretty realistic.  If Bundy was some hack wrestler that I didn't think would last with Dunning at all I would just leave this thread alone rather than try and build him up to be something he's not.  As for maturity...I think your previous posts speak volumes more than I could hope to about your blatant lack of conversational skills (and also seemingly respect for wrestlers besides Dunning).

Now, for your overrated statements.  o·ver·rate

    tr.v. o·ver·rat·ed, o·ver·rat·ing, o·ver·rates

To overestimate the merits of; rate too highly.

Bundy is ranked number one in the state.  Would this be an overestimate?  I would like to think it isn't seeing as how he's beaten every 125 (private and public) that he's come across this season.  Unless that is your complaint I don't see any other reason for thinking that.  No one has come on this board bragging about him, he seems to let his championship brackets speak for themselves.  So just because people think the Bundy/Dunning match would be close he's overrated?  Spare me.  So basically in closing attack, I hope you don't think I'm personally attacking you...I'm attacking the laughably feeble excuses you call "arguments" that basically say that you are not impressed with Bundy in a very immature way.  Because regardless of what you say, odds are very good that they will both be state champions this year, will you?

Wrestling4life,getting a little testy here arent' we? Someone thinks Dunning wins easily over Bundy and they are exposing their idiocy? Obviously, I too am an idiot. I think Dunning is at a whole different level. I think he wins easily.

Dunning beats Prater 15-0 (didn't even have to cut him, an amazing performance) in the finals of a bracket that includes Garrison Goins as well. If you take Dunning out of that bracket and replace him with Bundy I think he has his hands full.

This is no slap to Bundy. He's had a great couple of years and is certainly deserving of #1 in D1. He just doesn't have the consistancy of performance to put him in the same level as Dunning. Dunning hasn't lost since (I think) losing in the state duals to Manson 2 years ago and it doesn't look like that will change this year. Maybe Bundy will get to this level but he's not there yet.

  4. I think Cleveland will wrestle 145; I think he will be looking forward to another meeting with Wadell. Should be a good match

  5. I know this bugs the heck out of many, especially RMC, TEX23 and the BC guys, but after seeing this Franklin team today and watching how they're all coming together, I'm convinced they are a 50 point leader in the traditional team tournament and would beat Baylor or BC (doesn't matter) by 10-15 points, if they wrestled a dual today.  CH would be close, but not in the traditional, is the way I see it.

Actually in the McCallie tournament, Walton (who beat CH already) barely won only on a miscalculated point total of a Mike Ortiz match which, after contested, also led to a team point reduction.  The point head-tohead pt. swing + the penalty would have been enough to put Franklin in the final 1st place lead for points.

The guys want BC again, bad!!  It's now clear to me that BC and Baylor are even.

    Soms-

What do you see happening differently against BC that turns a 6 point loss by Franklin into a 10- 15 point win. 16 - 21 points is a big swing.

Also, how about a weight by weight run down showing a 10-15 point victory by Franklin over Baylor. Of course we'll never see the match so it is only speculation.

  6. I only have one observation in regards to what I have seen in youth events that there is a "Manley" competing for Baylor.  Is this Walkenvol's younger son?  If so then it seems as if the decisions made in the past could possibly affect the future of where a young man attends school and competes.

    Bingo-

  7. It is my understanding that Dan Gable used to make the final choice as to who would wrestle in the Big 10 tournament.  He did consider the challange matches but he often made a decision based on what he felt was best for his team.  Did John Smith (Oklahoma State) not select wrestlers in the past that had lost their wrestle-offs to compete for the varsity in the Big 12 tournament?

If a wrestler is a 1X State Champion that is great, 2X State Champion is great, MOW @ the State Tournament is great, etc... but the true fact is that in 10 years very few people will even know or care.  Wrestling is nothing more that a venue for young boys to learn some life skills and to grow into men.  While you may not agree with the coaching staffs decision on some issues, life is much too short to be bitter.  My advice would be to move on with your life and let the water begin to pass under the bridge and remember the good times and fun that you and your family had while in the wrestling program and at the school.  Your son graduated from a "GREAT" school and that academic education along with the lessons he learned from the coaching staff  will out weigh one negative issue.

Did Gable and Smith move people up a couple of weights where they were underweight?

  8. you r a freaking retard if u honestly think that cleveland will get beat by waddell. First of all,Waddell may not even make it to cleveland. Cleveland will win this thing easy. If u disagree i think u may have a mental problem and prolly need to seek help immediately.not to be mean but that comment about cleveland losing was blasphemous

    Woops-

  9. Raider76,  I'll help you on this one.....comparing scores would be like comparing apples and oranges.  First of all Baylor wreslted great against Collins Hill it was very exciting.  But prior to that match they didn't have to wrestle a very tough Lassiter team,  Defending GA 4A Champ Ringgold and then have an all out war with the then TN #1 team Franklin.  Also Collins Hill's starting 112 was out for the Baylor match and he wrestled at the Cleveland Duals.  And since Bradley beat #1 Franklin that should give them the nod for #1.......just my opinion.

"To be number 1 you've got to beat number 1."  ;)

    825483101[/snapback]

I guess Baylor is shut out of a #1 position since your #1 won't wrestle them.
