  1. Riverdale is the real deal. They took care of business with my OR Lady Wildcats last year but our girls can play a little bball too. We lost 1 senior off of last years team that finished ahead of everybody BUT Riverdale. Talk is cheap, the games start this week and my money goes on a rematch from last years championship game.

  2. HOOSIERS = OAK RIDGE

I believe this year marks the thirty years since the movie Hoosiers stoles the hearts of high school basketball fans. Small town, local players playing for the local team doing good. Just a terrific story.

In Tennessee, we have four large cities with public and private schools all scrambling for the top players. Recruiting is common place. Then the Volunteer state has small towns full of local kids who dream to play for the local high school team just like their dads, uncles, brothers and neighbors had for generations before them.

Oak Ridge basketball is made up of such kids. Yes, the Wildcats have some extremely talented players but no ESPN Top 500 players of top D-1 players. Just a bunch of kids who have grown up playing with and against each others since the age of five. The best player in the town isn't even playing this year as he prepares for college football. Many people wonder if he will sill play. It is a mystery.

This year Oak Ridge takes on the role of Hickory, Indiana. They must play a gauntlet of teams both small and large. If they make it to the Boro they will face the Memphis teams loaded with top players in the country. Are our Wildcats destinies darlings? Could they pull off the impossible and win State?

I don't know but I have my faith in them. My heart will rise and fall as the season rolls along. My eyes will be on the prize and no fear will I let creep into my soul.

Good luck Cats and Roll Wildcats Roll!

My favorite part of the movie is when Jimmy Chitwood decides to play. Read in to that statement as much as you want
  3. I'm done talking about a overrated Oak Ridge football team that has a horrible defense. I guess I will see you all in week 10. It will be comical listening to all the Oak Ridge fans talking about how much your defense has improved In reality you do not play anyone till you play us in week 10.... I'm sure we will have a hundred pages of you all talking about how much things have improved... sorry with your coaches I don't see that happening...lol See you all in week 10...lol

Campbell Co has done nothing but SHARE a district championship. They have beat us ONCE in what 30+ years. Get a clue. You guys have played cupcakes. Farragut will take care of business against y'all so the only thing CC can hope for is another SHARE of a championship. Go troll elsewhere
  4. OR your D is awful...lol we are comming for you!!!! Are Defense will slow you all down. CC has better coaches better defense and are offense will score period!!

Go back to sleep little brother. Y'all beat a down 2A team and want to talk. In the famous words of Ric Flair: You wanna be the man you gotta beat the man. So far y'all have done neither except talk
  5. The refs was pretty bad last night... But anyway was a fun game to watch if you like offense. Wish #22 and #25 was not hurt for AC ... Good luck OR the rest of the way. I would love to see what our Coaches could do with your team...You all got talent all over the field.

AC played a great game. They gave us everything we could handle. CDG is gonna have a juggernaut soon. By the way, the bad officiating you claim was headed by an AC guy. Don't put it on the refs because you are taking away an outstanding effort from the Mavs.

  6. Really good game. Hate losing to OR, I've been enjoying our recent success after the years of misery. I've not been overly impressed with #5, I guess with all the recruiting hype I expect him to take over a game. He's a really good player, but I keep looking for the wow factor. Super impressed by #22, game changer. Teams cannot replicate that raw speed in practice and the Farragut safties took bad angles on both his long runs. Farragut wins if OR doesn't have #22. Pains me to say, but congrats to The Wildcats, very solid team.

Evidently you haven't watched very OR football. Yea 5 was a little off at times tonight but made his prescense known. You did notice when he was on D that the ball pretty went to the opposite side.
