Reading this makes me feel like I'm at work. Trying to figure out who is mad at who because of what 'Lil Johnny' said to 'Lil Steavie' and then trying to calm the kids down to try and get them to act like ADULTS.

Anyway...for what it's worth my prediction...

I really think Boone will give DB all they want for the first half, but I believe the speed of the Indians will be too much and the offensive line play will wear the Blazers down by half-time.

With this being said, I also thought that the DB's second game of the season against Clinton was going to be close as well and the Tribe gladly proved me wrong on that prediction.

To All DB Fans: Most of us Tribe Faithful do have class. I may poke fun at other teams every now and then, but it truly is all meant to be taken in a light hearted nature. When it comes to trash talking amongst each other that is exactly what most of the other posters on here want to see happen. Some of you all need to bury the hatchet and realize that we all are pulling for the same team, everyone is entitled to their opinions but let's keep family arguments all in the family and not hang them out for everyone to see.

BTW-Anyone looking to see some of the high school football stars of the future, BGC Tackle Football Games start Tuesday September 21st at the Club in Kingsport. Come and support the young'uns.

Just be Glad Greeneville doesn't play DB in a real game there buddy

I am really glad that DB doesn't have to play Greeneville this year. I don't think we would stand a chance. The Green Devils are probably the best team in the state this year, even better than Maryville and Alcoa. Don't mess with the Green Devils, they will do anything to win. Remember the game in 2002? Man, wish we could field a team like Greeneville. DB would be the best football team in the state if they could be like Greeneville. I'm so glad they're not in our classification.

Hey I just got a call and they said the seniors will not be playing for DB friday night because their going to be gone on a field trip and won't be back in time for the game.

I thought they were leaving for the trip Friday night around 8:00pm.

I went to the Jamboree and saw all the teams play and I did not think DB wanted show alot of what they have, but I #4 ran for about a 70 td and I thought someone said he was a sophmore. He was fast, how about your starting qb, what grade is he and does he throw the ball well and how is his speed? What do you think your weak area is on defense?(If any)

Pretty quick. Word on the street is he has been clocked a 4.46 40. I think he throws the deep ball as accurate as I have seen, but it could just be that he throws it as high and as long as he can and #3 goes and grabs it down.

And you are correct, #4 is a soph. and will be a player for a couple more years. There are other sophomores that are playing varsity as well and are real contributors for the team.

I will say our weakness is D-Line, because we have a couple of people banged up.

LOL. Friday just cannot get here fast enough.

You are correct that Dobyns Bennett is respected across the state and Boone is not known as a powerhouse football program. Congradulations for being the winningest program in the state, but your questions and answer session will not cause DB to win Friday night. You will win if you beat Boone on the field and your past will have nothing to do with it. DB should win because of your great football program and being class 6A, but I hope Boone gives everything they have on the field so win or lose they will not get heads to low or to high. Also out of respect to Nathan Hale, a well thought of former Principle of Boone for many years (now deceased)you are not coming to play at the cow pasture, but Nathan Hale Stadium.

I apologize. I realize the 'cow pasture' crack was a low blow. In all honesty, I really do wish that all high schools were as fortunate as Dobyns-Bennett to have a great stadium, field and athletic complex. I really can't wait to come to Nathan Hale Stadium Friday and I pray that it is a good night of football for all. I just hope that we get the outcome we are looking for.

And I hope Boone gives us everything they have, because I would not want to beat a team unless they gave it 110%. I also realize that every team has a couple of fan(atics) and my comments are not meant to be directed toward the whole Boone fan base.

I just think it's great that it is Monday night and so many people are on here pleading their case as to why their team is better than the other.

I hope were lucky enough to fall down in front of all those speedsters you have because that might be the only way we are able to stop you. I guess we will show up but I don't see the point, I mean you have been the most dominant team in Tennessee for years. All those state championships you've won recently. HA! The way you guys talk you would think we were playing Alcoa or Maryville this week. We'll have 10 points before halftime. I believe you DB people have the waco disease.

I was unaware that Maryville and Alcoa's football teams had 720+ wins. I thought Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett was the only team in the State of Tennessee with that many football victories. You make it sound like Alcoa and Maryville have a long standing storied football tradition in Tennessee.

Over the past 10-12 years I will agree that no team has been as good as Maryville and Alcoa, but when you talk football with old timers & young bucks across the State of Tennessee a handful of schools are always mentioned. Boone is not one of those teams.

Yes, the Indians have not won a State Championship since the inception of the state playoffs. I know DB has not performed well in the playoffs recently. DB has not won a State Championship even with their highly talented teams that they have had over the past 10 years.

Show me one post on CoachT where a DB fan has said "its a state championship or nothing". Also I have never talked to a DB fan that has ever said that we have a chance to play for a state championship every year, nor have I ever read a post on CoachT where a DB fan has ever said this. I've always been on board...until I get pushed over-board. All fighting aside, you all have a special group this year. By mid season you will discover yet more talent. I wish you nothing but the finest. I just don't see anyone stopping you. But the games must be played.

I'll have to say that BT was on track for DB until we realized that the only way to convince him that he was not cut out to be a gangsta and a thug was to put him at Gray Middle. There he was able to reinvent his self as a biracial farm boy who could put up hay and keep up his grades. Football, in all reality, had nothing to do with his choice of high schools. We left it up to him because he had been to at least 11 different schools before we adopted him and really wanted him to make his own choice. He picked south the night before the first day of school. We were trying to grow this kid up with some fast forward morals and values instruction. You cold not imagine how very far down the priority list that football came. Most of you that were around back in the day can testify to that.

 

And height was his college challenge but I think he's found his place at Emory as he trails a 3 time All American running back that is Bobby's same height, weight, and speed. Never mind that he is at a college that is best suited for him. Go E&H Football #22- the double deuce!

I tuned into touchdown friday night with kenny hawkins and they didnt even show highlights of DB's victory. They didn't even have any DB memorabilia on the show (had several others schools). What the heck? I guess maybe they didnt have any footage with the game at clinton but they showed everyone from JI Burton to Unaka. Does ole Kenny have something against DB?

Kenny is from Oak Ridge, but I have a feeling that they just didn't want to spend the gas money to send a crew down to Knoxville.

DB & OAK RIDGE FANS STICK TOGETHER. We pull for each other, but there is NOBODY we want to beat worse. It is a Great Rivalry!! If I wasn't a DB Indian, I would drive to Oak Ridge on Friday Nights.

 

Game prediction: DB runs and runs all night long on Clinton. Clinton's Big D Line will be holding their hands on their hips and knees by the 3rd qtr. and the Indians will win going away.

Maybe I'm the lone soldier in this, but I CAN'T STAND Oak Ridge. May have something to do with our '99 football season against them in the regular season and then again in the playoffs with a mythical catch that one of the OR receivers 'caught' 5 feet out of bounds on OUR sidelines to continue a drive that eventually capped the game and put us out of the playoffs. (I'm not bitter or anything)

I'm glad that fans route for other teams from this area, but the way I see it is like the Cowboys and Redskins. I'm a Redskins fan and I wouldn't care to see the Cowboys lose every game they play all season, (as long as Sensabaugh and Witten have good years).

Very true Homey. SB comes from a really good family as well. I knew I would forget someone's name once I started. SB also played really well last year, I got to see him in some of the freshmen games.

I didnt read his post to mean this but anyways, why would you hold out on any given good year. I must be misunderstanding your statement to because it makes no sense. I'm not worried about next year or the next. Right now is what matters today, the year of 2010 baby. We will deal with 2011 and 2012 when we get there .

You did misunderstand my post. I did not mean that we are holding out for the next couple of years. I simply meant that our cupboard is not bare. We have some young kids that in my opinion will be very good when there number is called (and some of them have already been called up).

I am all about the now as well, I am just hoping that all these 'Haters' save some of their better material, so they are not on here saying the same thing over and over in the years to come.
