Lets get one thing straight. I don't care who the coach is. It amazes me how much you know about the program, and I have a son that plays. I tell my son to go out work as hard as he can and be his best. There were times throughout the year that he was frustrated, happens to me all the time. I don't allow my son to blame coaches, teachers, or any athority over him because his fate is in his hands. I am his dad and it is my reponsibility to do the right things when we do not live in a perfect world. I DON'T agree with everything Goodin does, I didn't agree with everything Derrick did. All I can do is try to teach my son lessons from his experiences. There are many reasons kids don't want to play. Heck my loves it and gets tired and makes comments. Football is like life, it is not always easy, there is pain, and thats right crap aint always fair, including for my son. Again telling my son the coaches are junk is not going to motivate him at all, so I will continue to encourage not discourage. I heard this same crap when Derrick was here about how he had his favorites. Don't we all! There are things I would do different, no doubt, but it is not my choice. I will continue to do my best to make my son be the best he can be.

Im sry but if a coach says theres works in the a.m. then they need to be there , it isnt always what the kids want, thats the problem these days , the kids and parents think they can run the show and have everything there way. If a kid cant wake up in the a.m. and workout and prac everyday i sure as heck dont wont him playin for me on friday nights, and i sure as heck wouldnt have him on my team at all. Lets face it central has never really been a good football school, if this was maryville or alcoa and you were losing yea id be changing coaches, but you got to give these guys a chance

Ok here is my take. Back in the old days when I played. I played for Huffman HS in B'ham, AL. Alot of our upper classmen me included had jobs so they could have cars buy gas etc in the summer. We had to be at work at 7AM so at Central you got a choice have a car and spend money or play on football team. Our Coaches opened up the Workout Room from 7 to 10 and 5 til 7 so we could get our workout done. Nothing about soft or lazy oh by the way we went to the 1/4 finals in the state in the larges schools 4A down there then. These boys want to play but want a car, ins & pocket money. Every kid doen't have a mon or dad that will furnish the car gas & pocket money. Why not just try and make a flex schedule so we can keep these upper classmen

My son is a 17 year old good young man. I'm 50 years old and have not said one thing neg. I have tried to point y'all in the direction to improve the program on how to keep our upper classmen but all we get is gutter talk (fire him, last hit, etc..) . Like I told Tony do not reply to the BS posts best thing to do is be positive and wish the best for the program us older guys should know that you get alot further with sugar than spice

Ok Son of mine. I gave some sugestions about keeping the JR & SR on the team. A flex schedule in summer workouts where you could come in the morning or evening so you can have a job. Can you think of anything they could do different to keep the upper classmen as we had 20 JR last year and only had 8 to play their SR year. I think we would keep alot more if we had flex schedules summer work out in AM & PM so the boys could have a job & play sports and by the way it's not just Boys Football its basketball too only 1 sr on it. Y'all know why McMinn had a great year they had 18 SR on roster. Once again 17 to 18 yr old boys against 14,15,16 kids we all know who wins

Ok let me help you. This was an isolated incident, one boy did the wrong thing. The coaches had no idea he was going to do what he did. It was unfortunate the young man pulled this stunt, but it was not set up to go down like it did.

One could argue that mcminn central over the last ten years has the most well rounded AA sports program in east Tennessee, if not the state, based on region championships and state appearences. Cross country, both basketball teams, baseball, and golf have done very well under the administration in place.. name one AA school with a more rounded athletic program over the last ten years than ours. I'm waiting to be enlightened

Ok how many Dist champs has the Boys gotten in the last 10 years not the girls. Golf 5 or 6 kids, cross country 3 or 4 kids. I think they need to look at a way to keep the upper classman in the programs. Last year in football we had 20 JRs this year we had 8 SR where did they go? Spoke with a Mom today she said this was her son's last year he will be a JR next year because he wants a job and a car. Could we be putting too much of these kids time into a sport, maybe it would be better to be less taxing on thier time so they can have a job and play sports. I think we lose alot of the upper classmen to this.

You know you put a team with 17 or 18 year old boys against our 14, 15 & 16 year old boys who do you think will win? Does anyone have any idea of why we are losing so may upper classmen in Boys Varsity Sports?

Yea this group of kids the Seniors from this year and last year in their Freshman & Soph years went ot Alcoa and had them beat in a JR Varsty game but let it slip away. Y'all say yea got alot of very good 7th & 8th graders coming in but how to you keep them. We lost over16 Jrs & SR before we played our 1st game. Y'all figure out a way to keep um and they will win. My son's Freshman & Soph year we had 13 or 14 just SR and alot of JRs. He Grad this year sure hope y'all can figure this out.

While it's 'possible' there may be some other coaches out there who could have got another victroy or two with this young team, they wouldn't have been the coaches who would have taken the job a couple of years ago with the massive rebuilding job ahead of them. I think Central has the right coach(es) in place, and I think they'll show improvement each succeeding year they're there. Both Englewood and Etowah had very good Junior (7th & 8th graders) League teams this year, adding to the young freshmen and sophomores already there at Central and playing well.

This is a big game for both teams if Central wins and Sweetwater beats Seq they get into the playoffs. If Sweetwater wins and beats Seq they are in playoffs. If this doesn't get both teams fired up nothing will. This should be a good game. Got to go with My Chargers 26-21

Yup I'm a REAL Charger Fan and proud of it. Orig from Ala so I played in Ala not a Charger E-Lum. If our boys bring there "A" game we win but if we play like Friday night we get pounded. It's up to our kids to bounce back and I'm sure they will. Central 28, Kingston 21

The Chiefs are too busy fighting about the new Black Jersey's! Maybe the team will wear Blue ones this week! That is all the Vonore Croud cares about! Lets get behind our guys tonight and support them no matter if you are from Vonore or Madisonville. Maybe some day people will realize there is no Vonore or Madisonville high schools anymore. These guys deserve all of the community support (both vonore and madisonville)! It does not matter what color the team wears it is still SEQUOYAH HIGH SCHOOL CHIEFS!!!!!!

Not so. Last year Obion County played district foe Ripley the last game of the season and won to get into the playoffs. 1st round playoff game, Ripley vs Obion County. It can and did happen.

told everyone it would be a good game but the Officials desided this game it was worse than bad. Looked at film on sidelines the Face Mask call that desided the game after we had stopped them did not happen nothing we can do about it though they got the W and we got the L but I'm verry proud of our boys they lead the whole game and had it taken away from them.

Nothing has changed backing my Boy's going to be Central 35 Bledsoe 28 don't see 50 points from either team. That Charger team I saw Friday was the team at the Bradly scrimage. Look at Sonny Moore's Power Ranking he saying Central are the under dog by 9 this should be a good game.

When you lose "about 10 seniors and some juniors" off a forty something man squad, I would think you have some different starters than last year.

We lost about 4 or 5 seniors last year & about 1/2 of them were injured most of the season
