  1. Thank you! Ronnie is now coaching her and she's on I65 all the time playing ECNL too. It's crazy for her and us. Can't believe she's a sophomore now? I'm about to spend six days at Disney soaking in all those games for the last time. :)

Awesome!  Ronnie is amazing!  Enjoy every bit of it cause it will go fast!!!  Good luck at Disney!!

  2. Thanks, bud!  It's been a fun ride and sure gonna miss watching her play on the pitch!!  Got one more year to watch my oldest play a little college ball then we will be officially done with soccer!!  Time sure travels fast!!  Hope you have a wonderful New Year and continued good luck with your daughter and this crazy game!

  3. Grace was a quality squad.  Great possession in the midfield and that #1 is a huge threat.

Fortunately, we were able to prevent her from scoring, however she did get some good looks when she was able to turn and face the goal.

    Well played Grace.

    Congrats Coach!

  4. u my lady have a serious inferiority complex.......no mention of your name......u took an open end and ran with it.....it and over yet; little Boogers everywhere

    Booger just sayin  animated-fishing-image-0131.gif

Haha!!!  Love it!!!  Keep on Rockin', Boog!!  Sure gonna miss this stuff next year!!  Might just have to pop in every now and then to make sure that pot is always stirred!!!!  What other "unfair" factors will come up that will have folks continuing to whine that its just not fair that my little Suzy ain't got her Championship Trophy yet???  :popcorneater:

  5. Not backtracking one bit. I offered a suggestion that has sent you into a tailspin: that the existence of club players has a significant impact on high school soccer success. I would argue the BIGGEST impact. You're personally offended by that. Understand this is not a personal attack.

I did not say that population and club participation were exclusive--all one thing or all the other. Of course population is a factor. But is it a BIGGER factor than club activity?

Just throwin it out there that our lil ol tiny school of around 400 kiddos had about 3 or 4 travel players on the team this year and we tied the Monster Ravenwood and beat the Big Giant Ferocious Franklin who both start 11 travel players with travel players coming of the bench!!  We just have a really good Coach and the girls work hard!

  6. You hit the nail on the head! Success in any sport depends on support from the community - whether that community be a town, county, church, or religious faith. And by support, I mean money, time, encouragement. The Notre Dame community doesn't really support bowling, so our bowling team isn't very good and very dependent on a student signing up who happens to be good at bowling. We love soccer, though, and throw a lot of support behind it. Rhea County is another example of a community that decided to throw time and resources behind their soccer community. Every year, they incrementally improve.

It's fascinating to me that some fans and some coaches think that the great equalizer is to just remove competition. The equalizer is community support.

Amen!!  Look at Williamson County!!  Their community supports soccer like crazy and year-to-year have amazing teams advance successfully in the post-season (Franklin, Ravenwood, Brentwood, Independence and Centennial).  All pubs and no privates in that bunch!

  7. Wow, I can't believe it took this long to get into the juicy topic again!!  Every year it's fun to keep up with the good stuff on a daily basis!!   Usually, everyone is slinging dirt in the public v. private argument early on in the season but dang it, its now the postseason and we ain't got too much longer!!  Oh well, maybe it will get a little "nuts" on here and we can enjoy the banter!!  This is my last season of this stuff with my youngest kiddo finally graduating from our little private school!!  :popcorneater:  B)

  8. The previous two years the district was split with 5 teams in West and 6 teams in East but this year the district was combined again and Concord Christian joined which made 12 teams. Grace and Rockwood are very strong and Greenback is pretty good too......then it drops. She has averaged 3.8 goals per game, mainly first half, in 16 games and the rest of the team has averaged 6.4 goals per game in the past 16. District 2 is in the same situation as Greenville is a beast up there and are dominating everyone. As a Ram soccer fan and supporter, we can agree to disagree. By the way, she sometimes has to be reminded to quit being so unselfish and start attacking the goal more. She has already amassed approximately 70 assists in her career as well. She is already being punished in 80% of the district games because she only gets to play approximately half of game which isn't fair to her as well but she understands and plays her role very well. If she continues her 3.8 goals per game she will probably break the state record but she is also just fine even if she doesn't because making it to Murfreesboro is the only thing on her mind as well as the other 19 players. I appreciate your honesty and your opinion but it doesn't mean it's right.

Is she gonna play at the "next level" after High School??

  9. Haha you couldnt wait could you Rolfe??

Too funny. I know your game kiddo so go bait someone else. I'm not falling for it. Lol

    B) Well played!  Just trying to have a little fun on this informative board!!  This is my last year with a kiddo playing at this level and it sure has been a pleasure watching through the years!!  I love how a lot of the topics keep coming back through the revolving door and its interesting hearing all sides.  I wish your team and all teams represented herein the best of luck this year!

  10. We need more of this. The message boards are boring without it.  :popcorneater:

Amen!  I was hoping the knives would come out before it got too late in the season!  :thumb:  I am proud of Ram Fan helping to build a program over time and congrats for letting the younger kids play!  Maybe the other teams should play a little harder D!  It can likewise be insulting to the weaker team by intentionally NOT scoring.  Looks like Playerscoach stirred it all up and looking back, maybe we should have let Playerscoach's team score some goals after our younger kiddos put up a double digit lead on them in the pre-season!! :roflol: Here's to a great rest of the season!! :flower:

  11. Schools with good Fr and Soph classes that I am aware of here in mid TN:

Ravenwood - multiple Div 1 prospects

Franklin - same as Ravenwood but have the only remaining National Team pool player in TN (Pascal may no longer be in the pool) in Harper White.

WH- a big number of pretty good HS players that have played together through youth programs and Div 2 club.

DCA- same as WH with 7 of 11 starters being 9/10th. Just have to get 4 starters back fr preseason injury to see what they can do?

CPA- Best freshman GK around IMO and talented 10th grade class

CCHS- Top Div 1 player and athletes around her in Douglas.

Father Ryan- mulitple very talented 9/10 graders

Ensworth- very talented 10th midfielder to help control the pace of the game and others around her.

Paschall (Ravenwood) is an All-American and was recently named to the US U-18 National Pool.
