  1. To your first point; Yes their is internet in cornersville.  Most folks with any sense don't run their mouths when having a down year with a bunch of freshman.

To the second point; Where in this crazy schedule would you have had homecoming?

Last week against CA? Or should it have been week 3 before the 5 week road trip/bye? No good choices, they had to choose the least bad one.

  2. It was a pretty clean game. Both teams played pretty well. Only error was made by Cornersville.  Had 5 hits against Green and Laws. A 3 run HR did most of the damage.  Loretto had 3 hits against Looney.  A couple of close calls went Cornersville's way before the HR.  Could have easily been a 1 run game.

  3. Strength of the region is probably on the 12A side with Summertown and Loretto.  In 11A don't think anyone will be overpowering. Richland was young and should be better.  Cornersville will be decent with Looney on the mound but not sure how much is behind him.  Mt. Pleasant should be better. Not sure about Cully. Santa Fe and Hampshire are probaly at the bottom. CA has to replace some guys but they are always in it. Found this about them on TNBaseballReport.com

     Columbia Academy    Richie Estep   1/28

    PLAYERS TO WATCH IN 2015
    Sr. Blake Luna - OF
    Jr. Scott Lentz - P/CF
    Jr. Billy Thurman - P/3B
    Soph. Noah Brock - C

    TEAM OUTLOOK:
CA will have to fill a lot of positions in 2015. The team loses 6 starters and the top 4 pitchers from a 22-12 record in 2014 and a sectional appearance. The team returns very little experience. Jr. Scott Lentz, Jr. Billy Thurman, Sr. Blake Luna, Soph. Noah Brock, Soph. Price Martin, and Jr. Jackson Scott are the only returning players who saw action a year ago. Team speed will be a weakness. The strength of the team will be its discipline and defense.
The team has many young talented players that will have to step up and contribute in the lineup this season. Defensively, the team has 12-13 players who will compete to be on the field. The catcher has started since his 8th grade year. The left side of the infield is very sound.  Several people will have to compete and win 2B and 1B. The most experience comes in the outfield. 3 players saw some playing time a year ago but will have to win the spot because there are several young players who will fight for the position.
CA has many arms that could see the mound this season. No pitcher is overpowering but will have 12-13 arms to choose from. All the pitchers will throw strikes and trust their defense.
CA will be extremely young and inexperienced team this season. 13 out of 24 players are underclassmen. New head coach Richie Estep is working hard to develop a strong work ethic and care about the sport. We will be obsessed with the little things and doing things the right way.

  4. Is cornersville practicing this week or is their coach taking another mid-season beach trip? When someone told me a few weeks ago that he went on vacation for a week during the middle of his teams season I said no way a coach would ever do this. I did a little facebook snooping and sure enough the pics are there to prove it. Not only this year but last year too!

During fall break and the bye week. Practiced Thursday and Friday. Go back to your own thread.

  5. That's simply an excuse. Cornersville has plenty enough talent to compete with Forrest, they just need someone that knows how to use it.

And they did compete to 21 14 score for 3 quarters until Forrests numbers and size wore them down. No room for error with a team like the Dawgs have. Not taking anything away from Forrest. They deserved to win the game. Just proud of the way the Cornersville guys played. Wish the 4th quarter would have went differently but still proud of em.

  6. What are the standings for tourney looking like.  I don't think all the games are in on CoachT's scoreboard so the standings they have are incomplete. District 11 looks like this.

     Rank  Team W-L
    Record
    Win
    Percentage
    1 Columbia Academy 8-2 80.00% 2 Cornersville 8-2 80.00% 3 Mt. Pleasant 7-3 70.00% 4 Culleoka 5-5 50.00% 5 Richland 5-5 50.00% 6 Santa Fe 1-7 12.50% 7 Hampshire 0-10 0.00%

    District 12 has this.

    Rank  Team W-L
    Record
    Win
    Percentage
    1 Summertown 9-0 100.00% 2 Loretto 4-4 50.00% 3 Wayne County 4-5 44.40% 4 Collinwood 3-5 37.50% 5 Perry County 3-6 33.30% 6 Frank Hughes 0-3 0.00%
  7. 11-A

    1. Columbia Academy

    2. Richland

    3. Cornersville

    5. Mt. Pleasant

    6. Culleoka

    7. Santa Fe

    8. Hampshire

CA is always legit. Richland should be solid. Cornersville lost several seniors from last years state tourney team. MTP and Cully a toss up with SF and Hampshire always a question mark.  Both could surprise.

  8. It's pretty bad when the Coaches don't mix anything up and when we fumbled the ball six times plus we just couldn't tackle. The score shouldn't have been so lopsided but the referees just wouldn't call holding or anything on Cornersville on all those long touchdown runs, Perry County couldn't get to the Quarterback because of the offensive linemen holding their face masks and clipping them. All in all just a bad game by the Vikings and very bad judgement on the Offensive end by the coaches, doesn't help when Cornersville went out to the Nursing home and got them some officials, they couldn't get up and down the field at all! Terrible. Good Luck to Cornersville in the Playoffs. Y'all are going to need it.

Are you serious? I don't doubt there were some penalties missed on C'ville but the ref's were terrible both ways. Ref's lost control of the game when they just gave repeated warnings instead of personal fouls for all the late hits and cheap shots all game. Talked to a chang gang member who said pc coaches never said one word about the dirty play. Shame.

  9. Not right. One team from quad 1 (either Sunbright or Midway) will have to be moved to quad 2 now that Unaka made it in.

Wtih Unaka in and Huntland out it makes more sense geographically for a northern quad from Clarksville to Sunbright and a southern one from Wayne Co to SP.

Depends on TSSAA.  What do yall think?

  10. Well, there is what quad 3 will look like.

Here is how the teams finish in order:

    1) NCS 2) Columbia Acd. (both have 1st round byes)

    3) Wayne Co. host 6) C'ville or Perry Co.

    4) Jo Byrns host 5) Clarksville Acd.

    1)NCS plays host to winner of 4 & 5.

    2) CA plays host to winner of 3 & 6.

3rd round: highest seeded team will host.

I'm not so sure.  Looks like Huntland gets replaced by Unaka.  That would set it up for the TSSAA to split the middle Tennessee quads into a northern group and a southern group.  My bet is the southern Quad looks more like this.

    1. SP

    2.CA

    3.WC

    4.C'ville

    5 Moore Co

    6 Fayetteville

What do yall think? It makes sense geographically.  I know they did it like this a few years ago.
