That's just what Oakland does. They wear down the defense and run-away with the game in the second half! Even if Beech had scored on their first drive of the 2nd half. They could not stop Oakland. The only difference there would not have been a running clock maybe. Not the first time in a state championship game Oakland has had a running clock and probably not the last!! This was supposed to be a rebuilding year!! And Creasy is as classy as them come!

This golden bears clown. No lifer refreshing every Maryville thread on the board. Sad really.
Oakland manhandled the Rebels up front and they didn't like it. Amazing showing by a really impressive team.
This has been a fun series and Oakland has made their half of the split look easy when they win.
I just sit back and laugh and the imbeciles from other teams swooping in like vultures to hate on Maryville when their team has been eliminated for weeks.
MJ is an absolute clown lmfao
Maryville is a GREAT Team nothing to be ashamed of. The winningest high school football program in the state of Tennessee. There is not one team in this state that wouldn't love to have Maryville's record and championships. It is not easy to do what you guys do year after year. That is why you guys have that bullseye on your backs. Be proud!! Most Maryville fans are great and show class in defeat just like y'alls football team! Yes every player wants to win, you guys have had great coaching, teaching these young men to show respect when they get beat. Life's lessons seldom taught in school these days!! Maryville will be back whether everybody wants to admit it or not, they know it!! Things change and things will change again. Looks like to me this will be a great rivalry! Congrats to Maryville's on a great season and Congrats to Oakland on a great win!!

Oakland open recruiting is paying off, I’m shocked with Maryville but they tend to do this after a few years then reload. They’ll be back. My cousin jersey is retired at Oakland they always have some stout talent. With some of my takes on here I felt they should have smoked everyone on the schedule.
Honestly I think Oakland has just figured out how Maryville and Alcoa keep great players coming to their programs year after year. Great coaches bring in great players! LOL I have always said Riverdale was investigated for recruiting 1 year to late, after Ranking left!

The past 4 years, Oakland and Maryville have played 6 times. Each have a 3-3 record. What tides are changing exactly?
I would say since Oakland has put a running clock on Maryville in 2 of the last 3 years, yes things are changing! When was the last time a team has put a running clock on Maryville 2 out of 3 years? Matter of fact when was the last time a team other then Oakland put a running clock on Maryville?
-
So 2 out of the last 3 years have ended with a running clock against Maryville if I remember correctly!
2018 Oakland 38-0
2019 Maryville 12-0
2020 Oakland 49-7
2020 Maryville's only score against 2nd string defense!!
-
Wow!! 63 yards of total offense from Blackman! I would say Oaklands defense is as good if not better then last years team!! Great Game Oakland!!

I am curious how many points have been scored on Oakland 1st string defense this year?

33 to 0 2:04 left in the 2nd Guess who??? LOL Like I said at the Oakland Germantown game the difference in this Oakland team and last years is the QB play he has improved , he can throw the ball this year. Oakland has used 7 running backs in the first half.
-
Oakland finally has a QB that can zing that ball with accuracy!! Great Game Oakland!!
-
9:57 left in the 3rd 35-0
-
I would say only difference in this years Oakland team and last years is the offense, it is for real should be 42-0. 2 wide open touchdown passes dropped.
-
28-0 47 seconds left in the half
-
8:55 left in the 2nd 21-0

-
End of 1st and only 1st down for Germantown on pass interference
-
5:46 left in the 1st 14-0 Oakland and Germantown started the game with the ball

I'm not a Germantown resident, but there are plenty of places to eat that are not far from the stadium. The Germantown Commissary is a well known BBQ establishment that's nearby. There others, but that is probably the best.
I'd say get to the stadium about 30 minutes before kickoff. Give yourself about an hour and a half to eat comfortably.
Thanks for the great suggestion excellent food!!

Does one year of dominance EQUAL to 10 years of consistency?
I only ask because that was the statement MJGB made. Ergo, our rebuttals.
Now, we can talk about last year's dominance by Oakland in the semifinals and championship game if you'd like ... but ... umm ... that wasn't the discussion AT ALL.
I agree but this is Oakland at Germantown not THE GOLD BALL thread or the 10 years of consistency thread either!

LOL , ok .
You guys kill me anybody can put out there, something that makes the other teams look bad! LOL I would say since 2009 start of the 6A class the most lopsided, #### whooping Semi finals and Championship game scores?????? Were?????
Try 38 to 0 and 37 to 0 or other words 75 points scored to 0 points scored in the semi final and the Championship game against the Gold ball winner. LOL Now that was total Domination!!! What other year has even come close to that in 6A! Just saying!!

LOL and most thought the championship game last night was going to be close!! I would say a running clock for the whole 4th quarter was not a close game. Wasn't it last year Oakland played a couple of great private schools from Tennessee and if my memory is correct, they won both!! I think the CPA game this year is just what Oakland needed, it brought them back down to earth. Most games Oakland play are won before the game even starts!! So if you believe your statement you made 10iseeball, then I have a bridge I will sell you!!
