Not sure if we have one with the "superstar" mentality, but the bench is a good place for such a one! We will have a few that can flat out play!

Look forward to seeing ya pal! But keep me updated until then.

Coach T has you all coming down for the Classic but only the rhea co game listed with two open dates.. I will go give the dogs a look if that's the case

I did see a schedule and I'm pretty sure we're not heading that way this year. Cloudland could make a run but I'm not sure about S Greene or Cosby...I'll find out about the rest of the field and let you know.

We got the pieces and could be there in the end, but some are young, timid pieces...Heck, ill just tell ya, we gotta become ballplayers instead of campers! Ballplayers move, slash and cut...This isn't Hampton basketball right now

I am feeling a little more confident in this group.. the kids that are stepping on the court as starters this year for us can be a great complete group but I don't see us having any superstars, which I tend to like on a basketball court anyway. I think we will run into each other a couple times the next few years as we have a good class of freshman and sophomores.. we've got a kid who can be a stud that is a freshman

BD, it appears to me We love to shoot the 3 ball...A LOT! Shooting  20% behind the arch aint gonna cut it! We gotta fall in love with the drive and improve our power game!  I'm hoping to see a totally different game out of these boys by Christmas...And we'll see it IF they are coachable

Will you all be down here at Christmas? I haven't seen a schedule. Any idea what the other teams will be like up that way

Not sure what Meigs will have this season....Feel Hampton is another year away from being tourney strong...But they will be stout in 2019 and forward for a few years

So what are you thinking up that way this season? We will look totally different than last year but I expect to compete again and if we get hot might end up in the Boro

  5. Harriman may very well make another run to the tourney without Grace and Meigs in the region.. Uknoit can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Region 1 will be that strong.. I really like how Coach Shannon is running things here and watching the defensive upgrade with the extra practice time before tournament last year our team transformed into a solid defense on top of good scorers at the right time.. The Sophomore class at Harriman right now has always competed at a high level in basketball and are going to get to get some clock and develop at the high school level on top of already having some good pieces taking over too. We are playing some  good teams right out of the gate as well. That being said Region 2 preseason top 4 imo 1/2. CF/Oakdale.. Parker McKinney getting healthy is key for CF. He and Jackson Hicks from Oakdale are two game changing players in this region that is why I think they are top 2 for now. 3rd Harriman has dropped some really close games against good teams but they will compete for Region. 4th Warburg.. Their HC is one of the better coaches in the area never underestimate them

They would of played all of them at home if they had won the region.   That's my point!  Your rewarded with home games for winning your region.    Speaking toward Southtowners comment:   If you finish second in your region every year and travel to Maryville every year, I'm fine with that.  That means your beating the team that caused you to finish in second place each time.   You should of beaten them the first time and you'd be hosting every other year under my idea also...

See I'm not fine with the same powerhouses hosting every round every year.. I agree that the love should be shared and the rotation should be continued.. if the higher seed can't win one on the road they don't deserve to be in Cookevegas

I like the rotation.  We know where we are going when the season starts.  Now, I wouldn't go all ballistic if it were to change.

Why should anyone from Rutherford county have to go to Maryville EVERY year if they happen to finish 2nd in their region?

Regions aren't all stacked the same.   Just rotate it.  It's simplistic.  I would like for you to bring this up with the coaches you interview on you future shows. I'd like to hear their input on this.  And how they think it should be done.

I am with Southtowner.. Looking at it from a team like Rockwood's view I think it is fair for them to host the semifinal.. They have already played two on the road so I feel like they deserve it from a gate/money standpoint too. The higher seed has already hosted a few games and the other has hosted 1 game.. I feel like they should get it if it falls on their year if a team makes a run like this

Been there, done that, back-to-back years (14 and 15).

Now bass and others will tell ya that losing one player doesn't make a huge difference...Does in 1A and 2A

I have believed one player can make all the difference since we came up to Bulldog Land with a heck of a team and a great QB and he went out quick in that game and it was no contest

BD your right wish I could have made it. As Al Davis said just win baby! and the tigers did. to bad they turned in the pads for gym snickers this morning. That team next week is just to big, strong and tough for the green Tigers.

Who you foolin'.. I've seen RW teams take wins from "better teams" a few times over the years (ask ole pride) and I'm just a youngin. Meigs may win it but they ain't tying up the sneakers just yet

A lot of coaches have that strategy but have to be careful how they use it. Like running a race or boxing in a boxing match. I seen DB come out the gate and score on the very first play with Greeneville.Element of surprise, demoralize your enemy by hitting them first fast and hard. What beats a tactic like that is discipline. Greeneville had discipline and ended up winning the game. North didn’t fall apart and stayed in tonight’s game, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the first quarter of play.

You are right.. I had a feeling this game would be pretty close and wasnt very confident RW would pull it out. Sounds like this was a good one to watch
