  1. I'm pretty sure your guys will take that state championship any over some individual awards that done mean anything In the big picture Individual awards are other peoples opinion state championship is EARNED

Agree with that 😢 It was there for the taking and we missed it. But Harriman went and got it

  2. I wasn't being negative at all. Not every kid gets to play after high school. D 3 or NAIA was just my opinion!!

No sir, I did not take it that way. I took your statement as a compliment. To play at any level is a blessing. However, it is hard for anyone to evaluate any kid on just 2 looks?

Most coaches need 3-5 full game films and/or 5-10 in person looks to form a solid opinion. Too many variables, injury, sickness, bad game whatever....

Thats what is most fair to all the student athletes not just mine.

But I do believe Coaches can spend 15 minutes on a kids twitter or instagram and tell you if They would want them or not as a team member 😉 For sure, I have heard it from them as an AAU coordinator.

  3. Saw Connor twice. He'll play Division 3 ball or NAIA.

He has higher offers than that in hand both scholarship and walk on. Saw him twice huh? ......LOL. But even if D3 or NAIA what a blessing, right?

His older brother just played 4 years at Centre College (football) and that was a great experiance!

  4. McClain, Pace, McKinney, Arnold, and Ledford should've been all state. Grace wins state if Arnold was anywhere near as tough as Ledford. He carried the Rams this season at state. Arnold was great last year vs Mitchell but was a no show this year.Who has offered the 6/8 shooter phenom who's triple teamed every game? Just curious?

I didnt call him a phenom I called him an unselfish teammate. How many GCA games have you seen in last four years? I saw over 120.

He couldnt even walk the weekend before state. His ankle was swollen like a grapefruit from injuring it in practice the Friday before stare. He wasnt 100% and if you are a guru then you should know good players and that every player is different .Its a game of peaks and vallleys. Players and teams are suppose to play OFF and WITH each other because of those differences.

As far as toughness, he had needles in his ankle Monday and Tuesday before Humboldt just to be able to go play and I doubt even his teammates knew that. We didnt need more toughness we needed more defense and 3 pointers vs Clay County and it just didnt happen. But we played soft defense all year as a team, So that was are achilles hill.

Ledford is a great player. He will really be something in two more years. And yes he had a great state tournament and seaon. Should be in the running for sophomore of the year in Prep Xtra.

And for the record the only offer Connor has to worry about is the offer to accept God s plan and love in his life and do his best everyday to share that in public. We will keep the others confidential and trust in him. I am proud of his career and proud of him. And proud of the grace team. They have accomplished a lot together. Just couldn't win it all as a team and yea that hurt....life goes on.

  5. As Arnolds dad I appreciate the support. All I am going to say is connor was all state as a sophomore and junior and his numbers this year were better than those two years. The problem is these are scoring awards and on GCA we had 5 guys average double figures. Good luck next year seeing that happen at GCA without a 6-8 inside outside shooter there to help. Those two sophomores at GCA should be very appreciative. They benefited greatly from having him. In fact go watch the Humbodlt game from state, Ledford had like 6 walk in layups in half court cause Arnold was getting double and trippled at times. Call Hanptons Coach and ask him if he thinks Connor is deserving or oakdales and wartburgs. Heck even Coalfields coach that just left. Connor has the respect of his opponents and that matters the most.

The biggest thing to me is the disappointment that sports writers are just that .....writers....Connor was Andre Whiteheads Region player of the year and that means more to us than some sportwriter in nashville or memphis who never saw him play more than once and probably never even called other coaches and teams to ask about a kid. Andre is committed he travels he watches and he is honest. He cares and if he sees it a certain way, then I respect that because I respecr him.

Being able to vote in that is a privledge and if I was a sports writer I would do some dillegence before I voted. Congrats to the kids that made it. I am sure all are deserving but slim took his team farther and longer than most on the lis, all while sharing the ball as an unselfish kid with some good players on his team. He made them better that cannot be argued.

Life goes on.....I can tell you this, many D1 colleges are full of manipulators and liars. The whole thing is frustrating. No courage, no honor, and sheep herd mentality. Thats why 76% transfer after year 1. The system is a failure to the kids. Some coaches in D1 and D2 have been very supportive and encouraging and truthful, and we appreciate those. A larger majority though have been unprofessional and made the experiance challenging at times.

Connor will go somewhere, not worried about that. Just gotta walk in faith that when he gets there he makes it a better place than before he arrived. That is what matters.

  6. And by the way there was never any chance Rusty Bradley gets that job even if he offered to do it for a $1. My oldest played for GCA 2009-2012 and we remember well those years.

I do hope they can keep Brewster he is a gem and I wish Coach McKamey all the best. My son just finished a 4 year college career and those two men had a tremendous amount to do with his development. We owe them both alot

Boy was I wrong LOL or did I just throw you trolls off the trail? Either way The Wing T is dead at GCA.
  7. I feel much better! I hope the wool comes off your eyes soon. Your statement about me-ism preceded with your son's lost opportunity should give you cause for pause. I believe the basketball team will have future success without Doig. It may even have a few more players join the team since he is gone.

Could be ...he was hard to play for an thats not for everybody.

I drop the me-ism cause I am not sure most folks would get it. If you want to chat about it call me or holler at me. Nobody can ever acuse my kid of being selfish. I feel sure of that

And there is no wool trust me we had our own passionate discussions but his heart was in the right place even when we disagreed.

  8. I am so very thankful Mike Doig is gone. I do wish him well at Indiana, but he has been a poor AD and has been very untruthful to my family and several others. I do not believe one man or woman should ever be hired as both coach and AD. It causes issues when you have a disagreement from the coach side. It also causes hiring issue during their respective season.

Such an uneeded post. Feel better?

it would just be awesome if we could appreciate the man for the good he did and let the shortcomings leave with him. We all have them

  9. It has been a pleasure I have had 8 years watching my boys play football or basketball and we have had some great teams. In a world where baby mommas and deadbeat men live to raise little selfish monsters or people without perspective, I am quite happy with my boys, my wife, and my life.

There are some great people and friends on coach T and to them I say thanks. There are also some trolls and little people and to them I say thanks for the added motivation to rise and try harder.

We lost, life goes on....... One mans pain is another mans joy...be joyous trolls be joyous.

  10. You are so correct on this one .... but Mitchell didn't hang around to see. Clay played a top 8 team yesterday & won...can you give Clay & Tyreke credit now? I can't believe grown #### men sitting behind a computer hated on a kid who clearly has talent. He is the most humble kid you will ever meet who just loves this game & no matter what you continue to say about what he "could or couldn't" do...he WILL be successful.

I dont think anyone should hate on a kid. And Key is a joy to watch. I love him. Plays the game fundemntals very well. Not cocky, confidently secure in who he is.

I do hope he goes cold as ice today but mad respect to him. And lets all stick to basketball 🀠Keys game speaks for itself. He is good at any level

  11. The guards for cc should shoot the ball a lot better today , I don't see them missing as many two games in a row.

Amazing that Key had 50+ and only hit 1/4 on 3s. He got most his buckets on 2s and FTs. Today is going to be interesting. Glass house can cause th best shooters to go cold.

Both teams are going to need the 3-6 guys to step up. The 1-2 guys will neutralize each other I think. Defense and rebounds wins this game. IMO

  12. It was a good game humboldt vs everybody grace should b easy now cause u seen the best def in the state

Humboldt better than Memphis East D? They are good but not that good - and winning is never easy you guys proved that to us yesterday. Nobody wants to lose congrats on a good season

  13. It's obvious that you can't handle a loss with class and resort to making excuses and nasty comments. These are kids, if you can't post anything decent and have a hard time accepting that Grace beat you in every aspect of yesterday's game then maybe the message boards aren't the place for you.

That was a strange reply to my basketball comment wasnt it? Was he calling the kid gay or the ref? 🤔

Kinda inappropriate either way. strange comment.......

  14. How about the Mitchell mom running on the floor to grip at the ref with 2 mins left. That is 😠crazy. Poor woman lost her mind. And then she went back to her seat like they was going to let her stay 😂.......She got the boot. That blew my mind

  15. You mean 12thmangca brought those Knoxville refs with him to the STATE TOURNAMENT TOO???

Yes we did and wd also taught Humboldt how to hand check, grab, and reach

Watch the game film. If you put your hands on 41 he has been taught to slap the arm hard. I bet he slapped that hand check 30 times today. Ref cant call that slap without calling the hand check that earned it

  16. The only reason why grace won that game was because humboldt was in foul trouble come on guys u tell me the refs was not one sided threw half humboldt had 14 fouls grace had 2 at half that the only reason yall won thats all good luck for the rest of the tourney ohhhhh yall was talking about conner? I believe thats what his name is on grace #41 i thought he was gonna score big ? He did not score but a 11 pt oh yea and another thing how did u like that big dunk is his face lmao and jarret got them steals just like i said he was gonna do

41 was injured and its a team game. He played through a lot of pain and was not 100%. We just didn't publisize it for the whole world. But he shoud rebound well tonnorrow. And one reason Ledford had 28 was your coaches made a decision to double Arnold the whole game.....Ledford is good too man, he made them pay its basketball. Just like I am willing to say Key might have a big game against GCA but 68 wont beat GCA Friday it will take 80 cause we are going to bring it. Himboldt was a good defensive team and we got 62

  17. How did Arnold play?

Struggling through some adversity this week but had 8 rebs, 4 blocks, and 11 pts. Today thats not too bad for an off day

They kept double teaming him and man dis it open up the floor and back door for Ledford who closed it! 10/12 shooting and 28pts
