  1. It's good to be back on the T!!! Congrats to Grace on a big comeback win against us on Tuesday. I can't wait for another great game Tuesday as well! Pride and 12thMan, ya'll should consider joining GFD, OnB, and myself at the Roane Street Grill for a nice pregame meal Tuesday!

Is that the gas station turned food joint on the right?

  2. They have had blowouts but in those Key has never been on the floor in the fourth. Last two games he has had 24 and 30 at halftime. Those victories are 16 and 20. He is averaging 25 before the half.

Vs AA Macon County he had 48. 12 at halftime and 36 in the 2nd half and they won by 4-6.

Vs Gordonsville was one of his lowest in a win and it was 36 in 2 1/2 quarters of play because it was a blowout.

He's averaging 70% from the field, 80% from the FT and 39% from the 3.

The tennessean did an article on him a month or so ago and he hasn't scored under 40 a game since.

Strong Strong - Good kid and good stats

  3. I like the way you west TN guys think. However the stats don't always translate to the winner. He is having an unbelievable year though so no one can take that away from him. He should his 3000+ career points any game now.

    40.2 ppg 8 rebounds 4 assists 2 steals

If he is hitting 40 a game his coach deserves it for letting him stay out there in blowouts. He is a good player but nobody gets 40 a game in Tennessee without rubbing some weak noses in it late.

What is his teams average margin of victory? If its 6 and he has 40ppg stop voting right now and give it to him. If its 28 and he has 40 well......still deserving to be in the discussion.

I know guys averaging 20 a game that play 2.5 quarters most nights. Again, not critisizing the kid he has my utmost respect and if he won I could embrace that choice! He is a heckuva player

  4. I thought that might get you in trouble...ha. It hasn't been too many years that GCA was one of those (teddy bears). They have done a good job building a program. Many small schools have what they have (which can be improved) but just within certain limitations.

Yea....My indian name is Chief LearnAhardway

    I get overly competitive sometimes.

Nobodys perfect - didnt get in trouble as much as remorseful anyway its about the kids. And at least mine didnt go to Hampton....crap there I go Again 😂 Just kidding ......

  5. And if I offended anyone with my piss ant anology it was not personal against any schools it was just a poor choice of words

I should have said Grizzly Bears vs Teddy Bears instead of Golith and piss ants. Dumb on my part and my apologies to the smaller schools struggling this year.

At least no one can say I am a rose colored glasses homer. I give honest opinions about our own team equally.

  6. CJ is not 100% but he is tough as oak knot. Last night was his first game back in like 4 weeks. He has a competitive heart.

Most all our guys are competitive but at times it feels like if I winn 1 on 1 I win. Well that is not always team winning. And I am not singleing out any one kid. At times they can all exhibit it. 17-5 and I have seen maybe 6-7 team first games. But our schedule is so weird. We either play Goliths or piss ants not much in between. I dont envy any coach who has to play 3 piss ants in a row then get Goliith. Kids get comfortable in bad habits and then cant correct it immediately. Thats were playing a full year of 5A 6A is better but Our coach does great at giving us a good non conference schedule so he is trying to avoid that

    They are kids lol

  7. Great game to watch. Two very different teams.Harriman is a playground team (no offense).GCA a half court team.Harriman will run you off the floor and GCA can pound you inside (if they would).Harriman in transition can beat just about anyone but in half court they lack the size.Take away the missed dunks that should have been layups and Harriman wins in regulation,if Harriman was a disciplined team they win that game GCA needs to use the bigs and that comes from the coaching.#33 for GCA is a great ball player but makes too many silly passes real him in and he is as good of as I have seen.We are going to Harriman to watch the next one and that should be another doozy!

Brilliant Assessment - we are not a Post Entry pass team. You would have to take your eyes off the box scores to learn to throw a post entry pass. If we pound the lane early we get Harriman in foul trouble we dont lose the first 3 quarters. Harrimans bench had 2 points. Our bench had like 24. Our 6 and 7 off the bench are quality guys. We can rotate with confidence.

If you figure out how to get people to own the talent they have and do the simple stuff then let me know. I been waiting all year for that. Hmmmm.....6-8 posting 5-9 every trip down seems like a spot to work early in a game.

That and limit absolutely stupid turnovers and I think we are 15 pts better than Harriman. I like all our guys but we dont change habits easy. Sign of an immature group

Gotta grow up to win it all

  8. WHAT????Who let them win???LOL.Haven't seen them play was gonna go watch some but had a knee injury and surgery Jan 5 and can't walk on it till Feb 13th.Doesn't look like I have missed anything tho.GCA and Harriman are on a different level than any other 1A team on this side right now and they are in our District of course.(for now LOL).I keep up a little but nothing exciting on our Reservation till baseball and we are loaded and should make a run at the state this year.

More like 5 other levels not 1 LOL

    Harriman at GCA Tuesday night

  9. For some reason the "drop down menu" for voting in Class A did not include DuBois until after I voted and notified AP. Likely others were unable to vote them as well. I'm sure they'll break the Top 10 next week.

GCA schedule alone warrants a higher ranking than Harriman. GCA just beat Meigs 73-55 tonight - Arnold had 20+ again and Ledford had a bunch. Heard GCA hit 14 3s not verified though. Anyway WEB is a top 5 team no argument here

  10. Well Nice to see Some East Tennessee teams getting respect. I will say leaving WEB DuBois out of A tells me not all voters even know what monster lurks on the west end

They would be in my Top 3 A teams at least

  11. And by the way as far as kids being mentally and physically tougher as a generation I think kids are growing up softer than ever before in some cases. However I coach some of these kids in wrestling and have known others since elementary schools there are still some gooduns in the bunch!

Oh yea this years group had some old school toigh guys Sorrells comes to mind. You could win a lot with 11 like him

  12. I think little johnny wasn't really the problem.

You are wrong Raven. Coaches fail at some things and in some situations, but players have to want it and go get it. Can you honestly say the kids as a whole where physically and mentally tougher from 2015 to 2016 than 2012 to 2014?

Really? What I saw the last few years was less talent overall and a too many kids just happy to play vs willing to do anything to win. We also had a few horribly selfish prima donna players and daddys over the last few years that made chemistry next to impossible for a team to establish. That is mental softness and it killed us.

I wont offer an opinion either way on if Coach McKameys time was up. People just need to look at that campus change in facilities since 2010 to 2016 and shake his hand and say thanks. We owe you a lot coach.

    Period end of era!

Moving on to the next stage while appreciating the last. Negativity now is just beneath our standard. I hope the next coach can get the school to state title. But more than anything I appreciate what McKamey and Brewster and staff did for my son. Who just wrapped up a 4 year college career.

We owe GCA and McKamey way more than they owe us.

  13. Thank you please ship the trophy and first place seeding to 5714 Beaver Ridge Road Knoxville TN LOL

Cmon man there is lots of ball left in those tigers. Your gonna hurt the crowd in Decatur when we come down there with your Nick Saban Routine.

Dont believe it 2A!! Rams got work to do.
