  1. If you have proof, and were aware of a violation in October, why didn't you report it three months ago? Sounds like sour grapes to me.

First, I am not sour about anything. Second, I did not report it because I am not a narc. I mention this because someone else brought it up. I am sure the coaches knew the rules, but it was a time when the coaches were not suppose to be coaching their kids, but did it anyways. Congrats to Beech for out wrestling Dickson to make it to state. I am not sour about anything I just know what happened because I was there and also have it on tape!

  2. August 22, 2011-October 30, 2011 Wrestlers are permitted to weight train, conditions and use open facilities. This includes and permits them to participate in OPEN tournaments on an individual basis. Coaches are not permitted to "coach" but ARE ALLOWED to serve in a supervisory capacity role.

The tournament you are referencing was a "free play" pre-season warm up event. Under the letter of the rule coaches were permitted to be at the event, just not allowed to coach. COACHING means... offering instruction, teaching or direction... this was not done or allowed. A large number of individuals that attended the event are not even coaches, but former wrestlers and supports of various programs. Coaches did not coach their individual teams and NO ONE was in violation of the rules.

DEAD PERIOD is not a "CATCH ALL" term. DEAD PERIOD is what is says... DEAD! NO COACHING, NO OBSERVING or CONTACT. What you are attempting to apply here ... doesn't apply!

NO ONE violated any rules here. I'm not a coach... not a parent... but I was at this event supporting the kids. Get over yourself, learn the rules and come back when you want to talk about wrestling and what really matters. There is one thing that I've always loved about wrestling... you can talk whatever talk you want, you can blame whomever you want but the facts are this... if you don't bring it to the mat when the time comes... you'll go back home crying.

Well i was at that tournament and YES the COACHES were COACHING their teams. I have video proof of this!!!!

  4. Ummmmm on the TSSAA website in the TSSAA 2011-2012 Handbook, it specifically explains what DEADTIME is on page 27. If you look on page 31, you will see that a coach CANNOT start interacting with his wrestlers until the Monday of the week of Nov 1st. I know what I am talking about. I think a phone call to the TSSAA tomorrow will get this all hammered out. Thanks for making me want to get this clarified in my mind so that I know that some kids didn't get jerked around by playing by the RULES!

First, Congrats to Beech. Beech just out wrestled Dickson. Second, the rules were broke in this preseason tourney. What are these coaches teaching these kids that it is ok to break the rules if it favors you or your team? Why should a kid or a team suffer from obeying the rules? Personally, I don't understand all the rules, but a rule is a rule and SHOULD be obeyed (no matter how big or little). I am personally glad that my local high school coach would not participate in something that was against the rules!!!!

  5. How come u only knw about 120 is beech kid ya son

Cougar130 the reason I know the 120s is my son does wrestle 120, but not for Beech. I do bleed blue and orange. My son is in a group of fine wrestlers, but watch out because he is on FIRE after finishing 4th at the Science Hill Tourney and 6th at the Father Ryan tourney!!! Go Cougars!!!

  6. I will start this. I only know about the 120 pound weight class. I think region 7 is stacked with great 120s so I am going to list 5 in no particular order.

    White- Beech

    Tolar- H'ville

    Cox- Harpeth

    Barnes- Dc

    Tulley?- NW

Not Tully -NW its Tippy NW

  7. No Beech kids? Hendersonville? Springfield?

  8. Wow... Clarksville is really looking good!!!

I was at the match last night and the match was a lot closer than the score. Dickson give up 3 forefits (why I am not sure). Those 3 forefits made a huge difference in the match!!

  9. WOAH!!! guys i was just trying to create a little publicity for wrestling. Particularly Region 7. I wish i knew enough about the other regions to give a preview of those guys. I was not trying to say what your line-ups are or anything like that. I dont know who is in what weight class. I was basing everything off of what happened last season and seniors that left. It is new season... Lets see how it plays out.. Gonna be very intresting.

Oh I know! I just meant that we can talk about what we think is going to happen but nobody knows until they get on the mat. I have seen very good wrestlers to get beat by wrestlers who are not considered very good. I know that Clarksville is good but they can be beaten (just like any other team). I meant no disrespect to any team or anybody. I know the teams and the coaches works their butts off everyday and I think that region 7 does need more respect and publicity.

  10. deadlift,

Since you know so much about Clarksville wrestling and feel they are going to be the team to beat in Region 7, tell us what you believe their line-up will be and how they will do in the state.

Dickson is improving and has since Coach Badon got there, however, you seem very confident in your team.

What is their line-up and how do you feel they will do in the state, especially when they wrestle the Chattanooga teams.

I agree that Clarksville is the team to beat in region 7, but Dickson Co. is improving every year. Tommy Badon is doing a great job considering he has never had an assistant coach to help him until this year and he also runs the girls team all by himself. I personally think that Clarksville is a good middle tn. team, but they do not stand a chance against the Chatanooga area teams! Good luck to all and just remember these are just words make sure it can be backed up on the mat!

  11. The Oliver vs Badon matches were exciting last year. I hope to see that match-up again this year.

Rumor has it that Badon has grown and will not be in same weight class as last year. I have heard (don't know for sure)that Badon may even go up a couple of weight classes.

  12. Region 7 had a pretty respectable showing at individual and team state last year.

New Year and I believe Region will make more noise than ever before. In no particular order i am gonna try to preview each team.

Clarksville- is still top team in Region untill someone knocks them off. The return a whole mess of state qualifiers and are looking to continue the region dominance.

Dickson county- might have just as many returning state qualifiers and will challenge clarksville for the region title. Dickson has there own version of murders row. From 145-182 they are very tough. If they can get some good lightweights oooh boy!!They could represent the region

Northwest- lost a couple of real studs but were relativley young last year. I honestly dont know whole lot about Northwest...

Northeast- Lost Adriann Thomas it is hard to replace an Adrian Thomas. Other than that I dont know whole lot about Northeast...

West Creek- This team is gonna be the most improved in region. West Creek coaches and wrestlers will be working hard to climb up the regional ladder. Heard they have some transfers who will make this team stronger.

Sycamore- Is another team that is rapidly improving!! I believe the sycamore team will be small school representative if they can stay healthy. Some additions in coaching staff... and the hard working sycamore team is on the way to a very promising season.

Harpeth- Here is the thing about Harpeth... all of coach Woods wrestlers are tough. If they can get a full team and not have to forfeit they would be unbeatable. Coach Woods does an awesome job getting what he has to perform on the mat.

Rossview-Lost a great deal of tournament points.. all three of the upper weight guys are gone.. However Rossview gains a few old wrestlers who will make things inrtresting for them. This is a team to watch closley.

East Robertson-I honestly dont know anything about east robertson this time... coaches help.

Clarksville academy- Sharock Cobb... need we say more. His guys will be tough this year.

Greenbrier-Coach Jones is on way to instilling the toughness that he put into Springfield program. Greenbrier will be climbing and getting tougher each year he is there.

Fairview- I honestly do not anything about Fairview this preseason. Sorry coaches maybe someone can help out.

Creekwood- I know coach Hambrick had a real rough go of it for a couple of years there... Man i would not wish what he went through on anyone. But he still managed to get a team and get quality wrestlers on mat. New coach is word i am getting... We will see how new coach handles things at Creekwood.

Montgomery Central- Coach Maples always seems to have quality wrestlers. IF you wrestle against a coach Maples team you better be ready to bring it.

Kenwood-I honestly dont know anything about kenwood this year...maybe you coaches can help out.

Springfield- has been young for past few seasons. Springfield has good coaches and should be climbing the region 7 ladder starting this season.

White House-rapidly improving team and the numbers are growing each year as wrestling gets more popular in this football town. White House will field a full team again this year and will be much improved.

Cheatham County-coaching change here... Coach Boyd is back. Look for him to continue the Cheatham tradition. Coach Boyds teams in the past had deadly head locks.

Hendersonville-Hendersonville lost a whole ton of seniors... Whole bunch of seniors. However dont be fooled because coaches Bennett and Jackeal will have a quality team of wrestlers. I believe that Hendersonville will always compete for region titles. That program will reload. they never seem to have rebuilding years.

Beech- My Bucs... Beech lost alot of senior leadership. Lost alot of tournament points. Beech will be young and should be solid- full line up. Depends how hard the guys are wanting to work. However it is looking like Beech finally has numbers to have depth.. Maybe possibly two full lineups...

Time will tell how Region 7 does. I am just excited to start the season. Lets get things rolling. I also want to get more news about our region out there and hopefully will be able to individualize things a little more as season goes on...

I tend to agree with you that Clarksville will be the team to beat. I think that even if Dickson gets some more great wrestlers (in the lower weight classes) that Dickson will be second in region 7. There is something about Clarksville that Dickson can't seem to overcome. I do remember last year's reegion championship match that the points weren't even close between the two teams. But I do seem to remember a good match in either the 119 or 125 weight class.

  13. You may want to check into a rehab facility ASAP because you must be on crack. The officials were not biased but most of them (not all of them )were just bad.

I know that I could not do any better that is why I am not a ref. Alot of the refs were terrible. This is the state duals and the refs should have done a better job. I personally saw a lot of matches that the ref decided the outcome and in my OPINION that is wrong. I only hope that the refs do a better job at individuals.

  14. Congrats to Dickson, I been reading good things about them this year but have not seen them wrestle. I don't remember seeing them at State Duals in the last 10 years so it should be a treat for them. good luck.

Thanks! For once in several years Dickson has someone wrestling in every weight class. It is a treat knowing that they have made school history! Hendersonville is a good team and wrestled well. Good Luck guys!!

  15. Region 7

districts will be held early in the week.

Springfield, Hendersonville and Beech will meet at Springfield on tuesday evening.

Have been told that Clarksville, Dickson County, Northwest, and Rossview will meet at a location this week.

Both districts will get down to final two.

Thursday the top two from each disticts will have a region 7 "Final Four". Good region 7 matches this week.

Very exciting week as Beech and Hendersonville have split in duals this year. Also have been told springfield had some people out in first meeting of the three schools. EXCITING WRESTLING ON TUESDAY NIGHT IN SPRINGFIELD.

Clarksville Dickson county Northwest and Rossview all will have an exciting dual evening also!!!!!

Now lets hope the weather cooperates so we can get this great week of wrestling in.
