Schedule out? Dates/times?

When will tournament start?
-
No where near 20 against Smith, not sure exactly what he had but somewhere between 8-12, certainly no more than 12 at the most.
May have that confused with the LA game. They've played 4 games this week. Apologies for the bad information

Out of curiosity how many did the Baldwin youbg man put up yesterday.
20+ not sure an exact number though.

Blevins should be poy,he should not be held responsible for what his teammates can or cannot do.
And who was it that missed 2 free throws, down by 1, with like 15 seconds left in the game vs LA? That was a point to prove why you should get POY. Not saying he isn't deserving of this, but to make statements about his teammates like that are off.

im guessing secreagentman is basing that on the transfers from clarkrange back to york for the 2nd time. should make them pretty dang good.
There was only 1 transfer from Clarkrange. That young lady is very talented and will add experience and depth to the team for sure, just not sure that will be enough for a 3rd place finish. Also, for the record, its the only transfer she has made. Her freshman and sophomore years were at Clarkrange.

Upperman title to lose this year.
After that
Livingston
York
Macon county
Dekalb county
Central
Cannon county
Smith county
Hope the lady tigers of dekalb county finish higher need some younger players to step up to give us some depth, hope our schedule is tougher this year than last year also we can win the easy games but hopefully we play games this year to get us ready for the tourney
I am a YAI fan, so I'm not knocking the program at all when I ask this, but how with only one lone senior this year, do you predict York finishing 3rd? Are the other programs going through their growing seasons? Again, I think York will win some games, but with all the coaching changes their program has been through over the last 2-3 years not sure a 3rd place finish isn't realistic, however not impossible with the attitude and ability of the new coaching staff. I hope they do, they finally have the coach that can achieve even higher expectations but in a year? Just wondering your thoughts on how you predicted that.

Describe the feeder system for football in Fentress County. Have no clue what it is. Is there a middle school?
Bulldog League
Pee Wee's are 6-7 yrs old
Jr Pro 8-9 Yrs old
Sr Pro 10-11 yrs old
We have a middle school team however there is no middle school in Fentress Co. We have 4 elementary schools in the county and the Fentress Crush team is compiled of 7th and 8th graders from all 4 schools. For whatever reason though, we lose interest in this group. Kids will play all 3 age groups of Bulldogs and then quit for that 7th grade year. Some will come back as 8th graders but most don't. I don't understand why though, the Crush team has had great success with that one thorn in the side (Overton Co), as we somehow seem to lose to them every year, well at least for the past several anyways.
Hope that helps.

I am very interested in the hitting to hard. I went to the JV game to watch a friends son. I ask him about it and he said he was on the sideline as well. He said he saw a coach fuss on a younger player for a cheap shot in a kick off return. The coaches were having a good time tonight with the kids when they made a big hit. Not sure if that's the same play you were talking about. I'm glad they are teaching them to play hard and not dirty.
Didn't see it as a cheap shot and no flags were thrown. I know what heard and seen. Coach may have meant "cheap shot" but said "hit too hard". Regardless, there are more issues than that one example. Most of those kids know already know how to not play dirty, they've been taught that since pee wee's. Trust me, that kid knew the difference and had it been a "cheap shot" it would have been called. Hopefully they can turn it around this week.

Upperman over Monterey 28-7, Stone over DeKalb 28-21, Smith over Gordonsville 21-14, Sequatchie over Whitwell 21-14, White over York 24-21
UH, DC, SC, Seq, and White by way more than 3 over York if leaders don't step up!

Yorks offenses moved the ball well like you'd expect. Then would shoot themself in the foot. Defensively they looked terrible.
York was not ready. New coaching staff and lots of younger guys still learning, but still that's not enough to justify the loss they took. If I'm not mistaken there were 2 coaches sending in 2 different plays on D and that caused confusion and thus the D was terrible! When a kid would lay a good hard hit, he was fussed on by the coaching staff. Its football!!! In my day, when a kid laid the wood to somebody, you told him good job and do it again, not get in kids face and tell him he "hit too hard"! That's facts! I was on the sideline and seen and heard it! I've also personally talked to a few players and each has told me the same thing, too much goofing off at practice. Hopefully the kids will get tired of taking a beating and find some heart and pride to play with. The coaching staff needs to get on the same page. If they don't want the kids to hit then send them over to another sport and let them coach there. Time to dig a little deeper for the entire program on the mountain. Lots of potential and talent, just have to figure out how to get it out of them and execute on the field.

When is the next game or is there a bracket anywhere?

Great move for YI. Nothing against Coach Wright. He just has too much on his plate and could not give it the time it needed to be effective. Coach Samber will do a great job, lots of talent coming up. Not quite sure how his first season will go, but if he will implement some speed training...not just running, but foot work, they should have an ok season. They've lost a lot in the back field, but will have some younger kids that will return and don't care to hit or take a hit. Look for the younger Probst brother to be just as tough at running over somebody (really anybody, no matter the size) as his bother did this year. QB will just be a junior and most of the line also returning. They just need some speed for the RB and TB. Would be wise to invest in some camps for those kids and practice it daily (even on their own).

thanks for the update, sounds liker a good game. Who is the best teams in the district you have watched thus far?
So now after playing both teams, I can give an honest opinion. I don't see Upperman keeping up with the bats and speed from MCM. Granted they will face much better pitching from Upperman than what YI has, but man...they killed the ball. Line rips everywhere and base running was just unreal. They didn't pitch their best pitcher against us, so just figuring they will be evenly matched in that area. Not saying it will be a blow out, but just don't see Upperman keeping up with them. Not trying to take anything away from Upperman either. They are really, really good and Ryno and Cannon are very talented young men, and wish the Upperman team the best.

Clarkrange has played with Upperman all night. Score has been tied 1-1 for several innings with Upperman scoring a run top of seventh to make it 2-1 so at least for tonight an A team can play with em. Upperman wins 2-1
Was LaFever or Cannon pitching for Upperman?

Upperman has a pretty good team, wasn't impressed with their overall play though. W. Cannon and Ryno (LaFever) are not just good, they are consistent, which is what I look for in players. The loss of the Guffey kids athletic ability will hurt them in the long run. Now, I am just basing that on when they played us (YI). They only beat us 5-0, on their field, without 3 of our starting seniors (including our best pitcher), and our first time on a field due to weather. They beat us the 2nd game in 5 innings, but again with 3 starters out and us giving up 6 errors. I just don't see them beating MCM. That should be the game to watch this year! Don't see any other teams keeping up with them as bad as I hate to say that!

3 kids quit with 1 of them pegged to be a starter. No effect tonight as Upperman beat York 5-0. Winston Cannon struck out 18 (yes 18) in the complete game effort.
Cannon is tough for sure. Getting offers left and right I'm sure! Actually, I thought we would get beat down. We gave it up in the bottom of the 6th. It was our first game as all pre-season games and 3 games last week were cancelled due to weather. I'm sure we'll see Ryno tomorrow.

You have girls that currently play HS sports? If so, at what school?
The DCHS Tiger Pre-Season Schedule is as follows:
Saturday, February 14: Stewarts Creek (AWAY): 11:00 A.M. (PRE-SEASON)
Thursday, February 26: Friendship Christian (HOME): 4:00 p.m. (PRE-SEASON)
Tuesday, March 3: Siegel (AWAY): 5:00 p.m. (PRE-SEASON)
Thursday, March 5: Cookeville(AWAY): 5:00 p.m. (PRE-SEASON
How did DC do on the 14th at Stewarts Creek?
-
UHS will be the odds on favorite that for sure, but hey, it's baseball and anything can happen on any given night. Looking forward to some great matchups! With the weather we are having right now, makes the anticipation of baseball season even higher. Safe travels/playing for all the teams.

Order of finish: 1.Upperman 2.Dekalb 3. LA. 4. Central 5.Smith 6.Macon 7.York
How did you come up with this? Who does each have returning. YI split with LA, Macon, and took 2 with Smith Co, and only lost 1 player (basically). How do they move to the bottom of the barrel?
I know Upperman has Cannon and Lafever and the Stanton twins, DC has the Jennings kids that Pitches and plays SS. Unsure about all the rest. Central lost their coach, but will still have a good team so I don't see them finishing 4th.
