  1. Well I initially thought this too until I pulled the District By-Laws out and here's the scenario... If Cheatham beats MC and Harpeth beats CA all three teams will be 5-1-0 in the Division. You then go to the 3-team tiebreaker which is... 1. Record against other two opponents: All 3 would be 1-1. 2. Most Shutouts: Cheatham only has 1. Harpeth and CA now have 2. (These totals could change after the weekend) Cheatham would be the 3 seed and we go back to 2 team tiebreaker for Harpeth and CA. The first is Head to Head which Harpeth would have making them 1 and CA 2. Thus CA needs to win or tie to ensure a #1 seed. Goal differential does only plays a factor as the second 2 team tiebreaker.
  2. Big result tonight...Harpeth loses to Cheatham 4-3. Cheatham still has to play Montgomery Central on Saturday. Clarksville Academy plays Harpeth on Sunday?? Nothing is decided yet. Could have a 3-way tie for first. Montgomery Central wins tonight 3-2. Could be a 3 way tie for fourth if Sycamore beat Creekwood. Once I get some more results, I'll update the standings and post potential scenarios. Sycamore/Creekwood score?? WH-Heritage/Westmoreland score?? (I think they played tonight.)
  3. Montgomery Central all the way of course. Shock and awe baby...shock and awe. I have my ideas, but I'll keep those to myself. Not really in the position to vocalize my predictions. However, I will say this...to me, soccer is the only sport where one team can dominate an entire game and still come up short. With so many teams, the top half of each division could produce the winner, if the dominoes fall their way. But then again, East Robertson has proven that they're no slouch and they're close to the bottom. We shall see...
  4. Breathe easy. 2 weeks left in the regular season. These games will get played. But it's still fun to dream up crazy scenarios...
  5. White House wins 4-1. They will have the #1 seed in the East. Greenbrier will be #2. They gave up some valuable points with those two recent ties. Anybody know anything about WH-Heritage??? They have 4 ties...haven't lost a Division game yet!!! Well there is actually another scenario that could play out...although its very, very, very unlikely. If Cheatham County beats Harpeth and then beats Montgomery Central on Saturday, they also will have 5 wins and 15 points. This will effectively knock Harpeth out of the top 2 seeds. If Harpeth and CA don't play for some reason...according to the District By-Laws both teams would be deducted one point. This would knock CA down to 14 points meaning Cheatham would actually win the Division!! Can we just pray this doesn't happen because I can't imagine the reactions. The coaches agreed to have all District games completed this weekend, so they could have all of next week to get the tournament ready. But the regular season doesn't officially end until next weekend. Meaning...even if they can't play this weekend, they have five more days next week. I'm sure the coaches won't mind to wait a little longer to get the seeds finalized. There's plenty of time to get games in if Mother Nature decides she isn't a big soccer fan.
  6. One half does equal a full game. You just hope this doesn't happen in a game that means so much. The difference between a 1 and 2 seed can mean a lot in the tourney. MCHS vs. Cheatham has been rescheduled for Saturday at 10am. All district games are supposed to be completed by the end of the week to ensure enough time to put the tournament together. Maybe Mother Nature will let that happen...

  8. Can I just say, regardless of the content, I think it's great that this District is actually being talked about. There's a lot of talent and a lot of good competition. It just usually gets overshadowed by the other half of the region. Speaking of which, haven't seen or heard much about the Metro Monster that is District 9. Does that mean 10 stands a chance this year? It's been a while since one of our small, country schools did anything past districts. When WH-Heritage went to state a few years back, it was a lot of fun to watch. As far as the District tournament goes...Any team is going to have trouble with CA and Harpeth. They basically have the West #1 and #2 locked up and their game on the 27th is gonna be a big one. The East is a log jam and every game usually means a lot of movement in the standings. Don't know a lot about the teams, but the ones we've played have all been physically tough and that can get you somewhere in the postseason. Later that evening... Okay, looked it up. Here's how District 9 looks right now. Have to figure CPA is gonna win a lot of their final games. Maybe someone who knows more will venture in and give us some insight. MLK 3-1-1 Lipscomb 3-1-0 Goodpasture 2-2-2 Hume-Fogg 2-2-1 Stratford 2-0-2 CPA 2-0-0 Maplewood 0-3-0 East Lit 0-3-0

  14. Well if the link is working, it should take you to a matrix of the results for the district games played so far this year and the current standings for each division. The bracket shows how the district tournament would look if the regular season ended today.
  15. Sorry my opinionated message board post caused such heated response. That's what these things are for. You say things anonymously (And we'll get to that...) just to gauge a general reaction. It's all friendly, competitive banter. Probably, the wrong choice of words but I hope you don't think that I really believe someone is going to blatantly ignore the rule. Having not seen the altercation, we actually thought they might appeal. I joked with Tony before the game and said the same thing. More power to him and the kids for taking it in stride. Yeah, I've seen the results. I can go back to 1992 if you want. But I have no problems or issues with the Tony or his program. They've had the better team and come out on top a lot the past couple seasons. Would we have liked to have won more of those? Absolutely. Am I jealous? Nah...I'm not trading any of my kids or their accomplishments for anything. There have been a lot of talented players and Tony knows how to get the best out of everyone on his teams. That's why he's a good coach. As far as this one goes..."Yes, let me introduce myself. My name is RJ Gossett, two s's and two t's. I am the Assistant Coach for MCHS Boys and Girls Soccer. You my friend are a very good detective...destroying the anonymity of a fellow poster in just your second post. Well done." Isn't this breaking like Rule #1 of message boards? I knew I should have been CAgoal21!! And believe me, I've seen the stats, I was on the sideline. We tend to focus on the positive...our goalie had 16 saves. I was really pleased with his performance. But no, we weren't happy with the way we played as a whole and the better team won the game. Not arguing with that. So let's put it on the record. I have no issues with Clarksville Academy. So can we put this to rest now? Your team won.
  16. As of 4/7... 2011 District 10 A/AA
  17. Anybody got a score for the WH-Heritage/Macon County game from last night?
  18. We've had our own problems with the CA program in recent years. And many of your sentiments are shared throughout the district. It'd be nice to get those red cards confirmed. We play CA tomorrow and, hopefully, if they did happen, those players will sit. I wouldn't put it past them to try and ignore the 2 game suspension. (Especially since it is a district contest.)
  19. Pulling from memory, pretty certain this is the set-up. I could have a pair of teams switched. Each team plays the other two in their group and one team from the other. Top team from each group play against each other in the final. Group 1 Montgomery Central Glencliff Forrest Group 2 Sycamore Westmoreland East Hickman
  20. Previous standings were a little off... West Won Lost Tied Points Goal Diff. Clarksville Aca 2 0 0 6 5 Waverly 1 0 0 3 1 Cheatham Co 1 1 0 3 -1 Montgomery Cent 0 0 0 0 0 Harpeth 0 0 0 0 0 Creekwood 0 1 0 0 -3 Sycamore 0 2 0 0 -2 East Won Lost Tied Points Goal Diff. I keep this updated to make it easier at the end of the regular season. 2011 District 10 A/AA
  21. Merrol Hyde's only district result so far is a 2-2 tie with White House-Heritage. Anyone know the result of the Creek Wood/Harpeth game this past Thursday?
  22. 3/15 East Robertson 5 Creek Wood 4 Montgomery Central 4 Greenbrier 3
  23. Scrimmage last night... Montgomery Central 2 - Sycamore 1
  24. Tyler Marshall is gone. But there were a lot of decent players on that team last year who provided all of those opportunities for him. And Coach Sonnabend is still there. There tend to be a lot of rumors that fly around that program but nothing has changed. A few more things to point out about the district...Sycamore does have a new coach. Dave Donahue. They've been a middle-of-the-road program for a few years and now have the leadership of the coach with the most wins in Tennessee state history (I think). This is a guy that terrorized the midstate with a disciplined Clarksville High team for years. Maybe he can turn the War Eagles into a competitor again. Second, Westmoreland high school has started a program and there are now 14 total teams in the district (split into 2 seven team divisions.) I just hope all of the other teams in Westmoreland's division know they're here this season...started putting together a district schedule for my own use and couldn't find games for a couple teams scheduled against the new team.
