Deadly for you to be an outsider looking in and just reading posts you sure know alot about what is going on. Here is what you dont know. The coaches at Soddy Daisy have more support than you think. The booster club takes care of everything for them and I mean everything besides making the schedule and coaching the team. They do nothing to get ready for friday nights besides coach. I have never seen one of the coaches on a lawn mower, painting the field, getting meals for Friday night, helping on clean up days at the stadium or even helping clean the locker room. Ask other coaches around the area if they would like this kind of support and ours dont even stop by to say they appreciate it. The bottom line is when you have parents that put in as much time for the football program as they do at their actual job they have the right to complain if the team is losing. I dont want to see anyone lose their job but when it comes to coaching if you dont win you lose your job and coaches know this when they decide to coach. Maybe if the coaching staff would spend a little more time getting to know the players and their families and actually showing they dont mind helping out a little, Friday nights would not be so bad and people wouldnt lose their jobs. Soddy Daisy needs a coach that is going to get out and get the community involved and have kids excited about playing football. I am not saying Soddy Daisy will ever win a state championship because with the talent they have that is not going to happen but 2 - 8 is not acceptable. They should at least compete for a playoff spot every year and that is all Soddy Daisy fans want.

The truth is when you have a program that has the support Soddy Daisy has people are going to complain when you dont win. If you heard parents and administration talking at the first game and coming up with a master plan to run the coaches off the coaches had 9 more chances to make them change their minds. If this coaching staff beats Central and Warren County (which they should have) this probably doesnt happen. It was time for a change and it should have been made as soon as the season was over and not 5 weeks later. Hope they get some strong applicants but not sure it will happen.

Take a Knee go in at the half with 45 sec after defense made a stop you throw an interception for a field goal. 1st down on the 15 after a fumble run it 3 times make a field goal you are up two. What a dumb #### they have for a coach.

Soddy still has a Coach and I will have to see him gone to believe anything is going to change.

Talk about classless getting on here and saying "This is a bad bunch of kids" is pretty classless. When a team does bad the coach ALWAYS gets the blame. That is part of coaching and coaches know this when they decide to become coaches. If you cant take criticism dont be a coach. I dont agree with people standing outside the locker room and yelling and screaming at the coaches. If you have a problem with the coaches go talk to them one on one behind closed doors not out in front of everyone especially the kids. Ok now you say the coaches did everything they could with these kids scheme wise and coaching them up. I have to disagree. I was at every game and never one time saw an adjustment made during a game offensively or defensively. That is not working hard to win games. Even if it is a bad adjustment make an adjustment. These boys never improved during the year. When you cant tackle or block any better in week 10 then you did in week 0 you are not being coached. If you read every post in this thread even the ones taking up for the coaches you will see pretty much the same things. No discipline and kids not playing that should be. Both of these are a direct reflection of coaching. Sorry to hurt your feelings but that is the truth. A change has to be made and it needs to happen now or next year could be the worst season in the history of Soddy Daisy football.

Btw soddyfalcon if u looked at prior posts I stated that soddy had a good kid at qb and had a lot of heart. I wasnt bashing your team. Heck several soddy fans even said u guys were awful so dont get your panties in a wad. And no I dont have any spellingbee championships but I do have 3 state championship rings in football. How many do u have? Goodluck to u and your trojans the rest of the season.

I just saw a chance to get someone else upset. We are not very good and it has been a long couple of years for us. Thanks for wishing us luck because we need it. Good luck to you guys in the playoffs. Back to our game if McMinn has pulled their starters after the half in most games then he may pull them after the first quarter in this one. Both #24 and #2 may have over 100 in the first quarter. Bottom line is Soddys D is so bad that the offense needs to score everytime they get the ball and the O-Line cant protect enough to do that. Soddy does have some good skill players but they dont get seen because they are so bad up front. McMinn will win this one 56 - 20.

Don't give up dude...... Soddy is a great school with a strong tradition. I will not go into detail (can't) but help is on the way. We at East Hamilton started with nothing and we were everybodys whipping boys. Trust me Soddy will return to being a good team. The right man at the right job will produce the right results.

Skill players are good enough to win and QB seems to be the best player we have but he was running for his life he can throw it when he has time but doesnt look like he will have much time this year. McCallies QB looked alright but they did not have to throw much because they ran it right at Soddy and never got stopped. As for being ready for Baylor. NO they will not be ready and it will probably be about like last year but Soddy may actually score this year.

Not going to post anymore after this because I have nothing good to say. Soddy was very unprepared last night defense could not even line up McCallie actually sat and waited for them to line up on several plays. Both lines are as SDFF said BAAAAADDDDD!!!!! McCallies D-Line actually beat the snap to the QB on a couple plays. The D-Line got pushed back so far they were blocking the linebackers and safety was making 75% of the tackles. Quake even said that Soddy was disappoining upfront and that was the only comment made about Soddy after the game. The bottom line is Soddy has talent but no discipline or coaching and the linemen are flat out lazy and uncoached. Like I said this was my last post till I can say something positive. Your right about the line SDFF. Gonna be a long year from what I have seen so far.

Trojans looked alright against Howard last night. Skill positions all looked good but the O-line needs alot of work. Hope they can improve drastically in 2 weeks or the Baylor game will be a long night.

Last year was quite a surprise to me with McMinn defeating Bradley for the title. Thought all year that it would come down to Bradley/Cleveland game. What are some of yall's thoughts on 2012. I believe that it will come down to Bradley/McMinn again.

 

My Standings:

1a. McMinn County (Defending Champs)- Returning both O and D lines, and possibly adding another good back in Wells from WV (rumor?). Lose some athletes at WR and also lose senior QB. Can the Cherokees repeat as champs?

1b. Bradley - Lose key players in Stoval, Houston, and Benson. Return Bryce Copeland and Austin Sanders, both highly recruited. Can Coach Floyd and Co. finish with a District title?

3. Ooltewah - Lots of good talent returning for an Owls team the underachieved IMHO. Should give Bradley and McMinn good games.

4. Cleveland - With a new starting QB and new PROVEN Head Coach, Raiders look to start the climb back to the top!

5. Soddy Daisy - Haven't heard much on the Trojans this offseason. Should look to win more games this year.

6. Rhea County - The Eagles will fly a little higher and finish with 3 wins.

7. Walker Valley - Think Glenn Ryan will have the Mustangs in better situations, but if the rumors are true and Wells

has left, then I can't see them winning more than 2 games.

1. Ooltewah - Lots of talent returning should walk through district.

2. Bradley - QB alone puts them in this spot

3. Soddy - Only lost 5 starters. One was Edwards but experience should make them better.

4. Cleveland - Very little experience at QB but they have the best WR in the district should help makeup for lack of experience at QB.

5. Mcminn - New RB will help but QB is very weak.

6. Rhea - Will be better maybe 2 wins this year.

7. Walker Valley - Will not win a game Ryan is not the answer.

Freshmen and sophomores get offers all the team, including from FBS teams. In basketball you even have 8th graders getting offers.

Dont want to argue about it but check the ncaa recruiting rules. They have changed. Coaches cant contact players in anyway before september 1st of their junior year.

East Hamilton has some good talent returning, QB Hunter Moore, RB Logan Jackson who ran for over 1200 yds last season, defensive backs Austin Gatewood and Harrison Warren and defensive end/fullback Francisco Rodriquez. All of these boys are being recruited by D-1 schools. They have turned some heads at spring combines and prospect camps. Watch for a big season from the Canes.

I know Moore and Gatewood are juniors. What about Jackson, Warren and Rodriguez. Also there is no way the juniors are being recruited by D-1 schools because they cant even talk to them until September 1st. They maybe looking at them (because they are good players) but that is a far cry from recruiting them. Just thought you should know.

How do the Trojans look coming out of spring and going into summer?

Any rumors on coaching changes for Soddy? I dont know if the head man needs to go but he needs to make some changes and it looks like there are going to be some people looking for a job.

Rumor is that coach will be gone after playoffs. Not sure what the reason is for waiting. Has anyone heard anything?

as i said, i agree that he should have had more carries, because they could not throw the ball well. cedric's carries, along with spencer stewart's carries, were the key to each game. i am just saying that if they had enough talent or execution, they SHOULD have been able to pass. and i do not know why a school as large as soddy does not have many athletes on the field. coach slaughter actually met with all the guys in the entire school about playing. probably 25 to 50 new guys came out to atleast spring workouts that year. it does start with coaching. i agree

Graduation and injuries hurt Soddy more than people think. 1 returning O Lineman a Sophmore QB,and 0 returning starters at WR. Defensively they returned 1 D lineman, 1 Linebacker, and 1 DB that were starters and 1 LB and 1 DB that played some. If Edwards carried the ball every play I dont see their record being any different than it was. Next year there should be major improvement with all the players Soddy has returning and if there is not then it will be time to start talking about coaching changes.

Thatguy, I have to agree with fedman you are an idiot. There is no way you can play the way Soddy has this year and not put the blame on the coaches. You say outmatched everyone else says unprepared. If a team is outmatched it is on the coach to find a way to (and make the kids believe they can)win.

 

As for you ByGod, Braswell is a very good defensive coordinator and believe me we need one but he is gone and not coming back so lets move on. Not sure what your problem is with Roberts but he must not have let you play for you to be so upset with him. Anyone who has been to Soddy games this year knows that the biggest problem they have is Defense and Special Teams. They are giving up almost 50 points per game and cant kick it deep because if they do it gets returned for a TD everytime. No adjustments have been made on defense all year and I feel sorry for the kids on D because they continue to be put in bad position to try to make a play. The solution on special teams has been just kick it short(that is a great coaching move). The offense has struggled at times which can be blamed on the coach and some of his play calls are questionable especially inside the 20 but when you are trying to score 50 to win I am not sure if Steve Spurrier could call all the right plays.

UGLY,,,,But a Win is a Win

 

Defense was ugly very ugly but has been all year and is not going to change. Even with the defense not being able to stop Central if not for several dropped passes Soddy wins by 3 scores. Offense continues to improve but will not be able to outscore every team they play from here on.

Get Edwards going to set up the pass and Soddy wins 33-20.

If Soddy does happen to win 3 games, that is still not an acceptable record. When the fans start accepting a 3 and 7 record. The program needs help.

3 and 7 is not acceptable and hasn't been since Jack Daniels left in the early 90's. Soddy has the potential to finish this season 6-4 and make the playoffs but you can't give up 50 points a game and win. Something has to change on defense (the scheme is awful) and the offense has to continue to improve and put the ball in the endzone when they get in the redzone. If things don't change this is going to be a long year and changes will have to be made.

We will see if the C - TRAIN gets Rolling this Friday, if not its gonna be a Long Season

Not sure about the C-TRAIN but hope Soddy gets the DEFENSE TRAIN going.

Can't cover Stoval 1 on 1 ( Gonna have to call you on that Statement ) SD # 7 Shut Stoval down when he was assigned to Him. Stoval had no catches while #7 was on him.

Not sure what game you were at but nobody from Soddy shut anybody down but you are right when they rolled #7 over the top of Stoval he didnt have any catches because they didnt have to throw to him because Bradleys slot receivers were running down the middle of the field wide open.

Up 5 TD's and Throwing the ball early in the 4th, then with 4 min left in Game, Still Throwing the Rock, Style Points i Guess :thumb:

I dont think it was Coach Floyd trying to run up the score. It was a 5 yard out route just trying to let his young guys play and just like the whole game and year so far Soddy could not make a tackle.
