yes you guys probaly have more athletes and talent but sequoyah has been underdog all season,signal mountain game was 28 6 in 4th quarter signal mountain was 1 or 2 in state so the cheifs know how to play with the good teams. I think it will be a low scoring game.Guys, as someone who went to several of Gibbs games this year, I can tell you that if Gibbs QB Chris Legg plays (injured last week vs. Austin-East), Sequoyah will be unable to keep the game close. Gibbs runs a triple option, similar to what you would see Georgia Tech run on Saturdays. Legg was injured in the early 2nd quarter of the game- and is a big part of their running option game. Stopping the run against teams that run more traditional offenses is one thing, but the triple option, when run well, will confound unfamiliar high school teams. If Legg plays, I fully expect Gibbs to score in the ballpark of 40 points. Generally speaking, Sequoyah has not faired well against opponents of considerable talent. I would project Gibbs as a 21 point favorite if Legg plays; a 10 point favorite if he does not.
As an aside, Gibbs is 9-1 and undefeated at home. Their only loss was to Fulton, who finished the season 6-4, but had losses to Alcoa and Powell (teams that most any team will lose to). Fulton possessed the athleticism on offense to score on Gibbs' defense enough to overcome Gibbs' own offensive onslaught (43 points). I'd just like to point out that I highly doubt that Madisonville fields the same type of athleticism as does east Knoxville.

Sequoyah travels to Gibbs High School, Chiefs coming off a 0-10 season to making the playoffs, coming off a big win against Sweetwater, Gibbs power house team who loves to run the ball,heard they dnt throw alot,chiefs stop the run well but not the pass. Who wins and why?

id b happy to congradulate suckouyah if half our starters hadnt been sick. all of our startn o line cept knuckles wasnt there. and nxt yr will b a closer game. and i kno plrnty about fball i play
so since sequoyah beat sweetwater by 20 and alcoa will beat u guys by 40 and u still think ur better then sequoyah so does tht mean ur twice as good as alcoa? im so confused someone please help me. u know alot about football by the way i can so tell!

wildcats53, sweetwater is so much better then sequoyah because theyve won more games, yes i agree with u so much,just because sequoyah dominated every part of the game, sweetwater is so much better tho. (sarcasm) You know nothing bout footballbgood job chiefs, and good luck to sweetwater in playoffs both teams

the only reasson those games were close is caus of our turnovers....in my opinion....sweetwater is better. explain y a school with 1000som students cant beat a school with 600 students, im not tryn 2 offend any1 but.....SWEETWATER IS BETTER!
doesnt matter if you have 1000 or 50 kids at the school. matters who the best 11 are on the field. and sequoyah is gonna show that thursday night.

thts the only tough theams they play. look at their 1st few games...cakewalks. Sequoyahs schedule is filled with mostly easy schools with a few big tough schools. sweetwater plays a few easy schools with a few tough big schools and the rest decent teams. anyways...if sweetwater wasnt better they wudnt hav won 2 more games than sequoyah anyways
Ok yes sequoyah wins have been cake walks but all the other teams they have played they are all pretty much ranked in top 10. they really played all those teams well except for polk. Our wins are Tellico 34-0 Meigs 26-0 and central 35-7, yes cakewalks but sweetwater had trouble with all those teams. Tellico 28-12,Meigs 26-23 in double overtime, and central who hasnt won a game 20-6. sweetwater has won more games but sequoyah plays as a team. They play with one heart beat which is what they say before every game, you can here them in stands saying that. Too much of Bell and Mccane and peels dominating on the line. Sequoyah 35 sweetwater 7

i agree gibbs had big plays against sequoyah tht killed the chiefs. reverse, bout 3 broken tackles by the hibbet kid and a pass tht was unexpected. greenville has more athletes then sequoyah.If gibbs beats scott county they wnt get passed greenville. still love my chiefs. Good luck to chiefs in future they finally turned this program around.
