  1. "Show me anyone CAK has played that we could not have had the same outcome with. It is not there.

PS If we are going by previous games it was

Elizabethton 38 Johnson County 13 And we did not play the best game.

CAK 37 Johnson county 14 and all I see is how they played a great game."

    CAK 37 Johnson Co. 37 -14  (37 to 0 at half)

    Betsy 38 - 13 (21 - 7 at half)

    CAK 35 Scott Co. 0

    Betsy 17 Scott Co. 14

Having said that, I look forward to the trip.  I expect it to be a close game.

  2. PAL gets beat in this one by two TDs, only because CAK is down this year. The CAK teams from the last three years or so would win by five TDs.

Down this year?  Dont think I can follow you on that one.  This year will be night and day from last. More experienced weapons, defense much improved.

  3. Hey FootballDad, any parking advice for tomorrow night?

    Yea. Parking is kinda limited.

There is visitor parking behind the visitor bleachers, just turn right when you turn onto campus. You can enter the staidum from that side.

I'm confused. Is CAK playing Catholic next year? I was under the impression 'we' were losing two schools (Stone Memorial and Loudon) and gaining 1 new school in our district (Catholic)?

I read the info on TSSAA's official site but also several random interweb articles said the same thing: http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2012/nov/15/loudon-moved-to-district-5-aa-alcoas-gary-rankin/

CAK will play catholic in regular season, not in playoffs. CAK is 3A Catholic is 4A but both are in AA...thank you tssaa

I'm not good with reading between the lines. Care to elaborate?

Sure, sorry. Open zone schools never want to talk about open zone. Privates who play over get bashed like crazy. (Don't really want to turn this thread into that debate btw)

Players, fans, and coaches sure be thankful today to get the chance to play high school football on black Friday! Only 4 teams left and these are two of them. Enjoy and embrace the opportunity.

Hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving and safe travels tomorrow.

  6. I'm not sure, but I do know that if Stone Memorial (2 wins) can rush for 384 and only throw it five times, then I feel fairly confidant in saying that Elizabethton can gain some yardage on the ground. If you take the four main runners for Elizabethton (28,7, 9, 20) and look only at their rushing stats, then you've got 3,852 yards on 484 carries. That's an average of 7.96 yards per carry, and the team is averaging 318 per game on the ground. Now, who knows if that translates into a win against an extremely good CAK team? That can only be decided on Friday night. But, if I'm a gambling man, I still put my money on EHS gaining some yards on the ground. You talked about the quarterback runs being easy to read...he only runs after 28, 7, and 20 have started pounding. Usually by that time, it doesn't take an amazing fake to get the defense to begin chasing after them. Elizabethton doesn't depend on the QB runs to get the bulk of their yards, it's just a nice change of pace once teams start trying to tee off on the backs.

That is great and all, but you may want to get the entire story first, CAK played with mostly a JV defense for that game because of various situations. All 4 linebackers, 2 in secondary, and 2 d-lineman where kids who started and played that game. Elizabethton will not see that defense, unless the game is out of hand.

(I am not saying Elizabethton will not rush for a bunch of yards, I believe they will have success on the ground, but to compare the defense aganist Stone to the one that plays today is a far cry. imo)
