  1. If its raining and wet thursday and you see the reciever catching the ball like there wide open youll know what im talking about....

Warrior82dad.....you might want to get your facts straight before you start bumping your gums. I guess you think you are the only one on here that has any knowledge about football. Get real... When one of those 15 wet balls slips through the hands of that wide open wide receiver....you will know what I am talking about.

Hopefully it is dry and no one gets hurt during the game.

  2. The reciever has nothing to do about the footing. Its the anticipation of the cut. The defender in open field who is yards of the reciever cannot react as fast to his cut. A running back is running at the players and has less margin for error and has to make quicker cuts....but I guess you wouldnt know that wihout ever playing,....and as for the balls, you do know they use as many as 15 balls during the course of a game keeping them dry in a dryer and rotating them out and they keep them covered with a towel until there ready for play...but again, i guess you wouldnt know that since you havent played before....

Your right...never played. Your argument still makes no sense. Keep at it.

  3. Wow, you havent played football have you?? Everyone knows a back trying to make his cuts has trouble with footing and when a reciever is running his routs he has the advantage cutting against his defender making the benifit to the reciever and as for wet heavy footballs...they now have come into the 20th century and have this new fangled thing called a ball dryer and they now even use more than one ball!!!...........Just saying!!

Your argument about the receiver having the footing is the same point DaBlueRaider is making regarding the running game. Both of them know where they should go, but their footing is would be tricky if it is raining. As far as the ball being dried off....you can dry all you want, but if it is raining, those balls get wet. Use all the balls you want..they will get wet if it is raining. Once leather is wet, it doesn't dry overnight. Wake up...

  4. If Blackman's putting all there hopes on taking the train, it could be a short trip. Blackman has not faced a defense like Riversdale's all year long. Besides, its not the Blackman offense, its the defense that Id be worried about. The balanced attack of Riverdale will be hard to handle for them.

On the flip side, Riverdale has not faced a back like the I-Train..Hard to slow down something you can't touch.

Choo Choo....Train is leaving the station.

  5. Wasn't bashing so much as asking a question. <_<

Kids get excited easily as they are not the ones that have to pay for trips like that. Now parents otherwise usually have to fork out $300 or MORE!

I for one example remember a trip to Ohio that the other team chickened out on playing the return game that forced Coach A to schedule the game with a private in Chattanooga that did NOT work out so well.

    Keep kissing up BOYS! :roflol:

Being from KY...I can tell you that St. X will not chicken out. They might beat Riverdale's brains in. They are an all male school, and usually dominant on the National level.

  6. I is sorry..nobody posted anything i could reply too...

and Bryson we should know somepoint today... How's Mathers..i heard he was just sick friday. any truth to that?

Mathers is probably out....been very sick all this weekend. Not looking good for the Blaze. Bryson looks like a hairline fracture, probably out as well...

  7. Your comparing Fern Creek's talent to Blackman :roflol:

    Must we go there :popcorneater:

I have seen many Fern Creek games over the years, and three this season. There is a reason those two kids comitted to Louisville...must I say more...its Louisville. Not even the best team in Kentucky, and UK is not that good. Is it a compliment to be recruitted by Louisville? Mathers will far surpass the quality of offers those kids had. Roll on Blaze...

  8. Now here is an idea. I'll call you stupid. And then you reply with something witty like "Oh Yea, Well you're at stupid head. Then what do you know - you will have twenty post.

    ta Da.....

Is that the goal? If so, you have about 350 useless post. Keep up the good work.

  9. Threads like this tickle me. I never bought into the whole aura of Coach Rankin when he first came to Alcoa. I was like, cmon the guy cant be THAT great. Then Ive seen what Alcoa has continued to do since Rankin has taken over. Then I look at what Riverdale has done since he's left.....Nothing. So then when I see a DB person come in, I remember the days where they were the big 5A (6A now) powerhouse. I start to think of all the great teams they had that ran all over everyone........Then I realize I cant think of any. I try, but I cant. I realized finally that they havent won a State Championship since Lyndon B. Johnson was President and that was nearly 20 years before I was born. I guess DB should be glad the road to the State Championship goes through Maryville High School and not William Blount High School. We all know how those games turn out!! :roflol:

Thank you...at least someone with some reason behind them.

  10. Guess what...They are playing in a diffrent bracket than the rest of rutherford county! Which mean that 6-0 non district record is what ill go off of since they are not playing district teams

You are missing the boat. I guess the rest of the teams in that district need to start scheduling those poor out of district teams that they can beat up on, and act like they have done something. At least schedule out of district teams that will give you some challenge. I heard the YMCA has a team to play against next year. You in? It will all come out in the wash when Riverdale is home watching the finals.

  11. I do agree that Blackman did not play that well, on defense there were times we looked like we were at our girlfriends house and her mom pulled in the driveway and we could find our britches. That is the wing T!:popcorneater:

Not even referring to those errors. I said errors that Riverdale did not cause. How about the flop kick off that Blackman decided to let drop. Should have been easily handled, and fair caught. How about the fumble on the 43 yard line? No defense was there...just miss handled. Both of these errors cost 14 points.

  12. well yes they do..because guess what...Riverdale is 6-0 vs non district opponents :thumb:

Do you know those NON-District teams records? I guess you don't. That is not saying much, or something for them to be proud of. Seeing how the real competition is in Rutherford Cnty, and this district...that would be my measuring stick.

  13. Riverdale starts slow...yes first quarter blackman 21 rdale 0 end of game blackman 44 rdale 43....shows talent there....oakland got pushed to ot the fact im stating is if you think riverdale is weak and an easy win then your gonna get it handed to you....they are hard to stop even "one dimensional"

Like I also mentioned...Blackman made many self made errors in that game. Riverdale did not cause those errors. It looks like to me that three teams in this district found them beatable. I am sure others can do the same with that one dimensional team. It amazes me that TSSAA lets teams in the playoffs with LOSING records in the district. Is this the YMCA? Why do we keep score if everyone gets in?

  14. You don't need to throw it when your fullback is rambling down the field for 300 yards. You could ask him to stop so you can throw it. In 04 Riverdale was running a pro set under Rankin. Only been running the winger since current coach has been there. I hate that offense, trying to stop it will leave you talking to yourself or talking to strangers online:popcorneater:

To my point...when this year, has the TB or FB or slot back run for 300 yds/gm.? They are a one dimensional team...they don't throw the ball enough to be considered a true threat. Yes, the QB threw for quite a few yds against Blackman. Before that, he could not hit the broadside of a barn, or at least he was not given an opportunity to throw it. At least his stats showed that.

  15. And i am stating the facts too. I can handle it..Im not a Riverdale fan...look at my pic it says ":Smyrna High School"

What facts are you stating? Yes, Riverdale ran out of time, because games have a time limit. Do you not think if there were more time, Blackman or Oakland could not score more also???? I believe Blackman was beating them handly in the beginning, then they also made some errors. Riverdale has had some good teams, but like I said, this year they are week. They will not be there in the end.

  16. what team do you support anyways?

and they seemed to pass pretty well here recently..don't be shocked if they pass some this friday

Does it matter what team I support? I visit high school football games all over Tennessee. I am just stating facts of what I have personally seen. Sorry you can't handle the truth.

They had ONE game of passing. I already said they can't do that every game. That makes them a one dimensional team.

  17. Oakland in that game had 3 running backs out with injury. and their star wide reciever was out..and franklin beat them by one TD that is not weak. That was a lucky Draw for Franklin...

And riverdale has firguered out that they can throw the ball. But just running is not weak...look at all their titles they have won with the wing t and just running the ball....I am by no means a Riverdale fan but i know a good team when i see one :thumb:

I have seen their titles...I have to inform you that during those title runs, they also threw the ball. This years team (and that is what I was referring to as weak)is a one dimensional team. It has shown this year.

  18. Do you know anything about Riverdale other than they run the wing T?

Riverdale isnt weak by No means. They lost to Blackman by 1 point Lost to Oakland in OT the only team to soundly beat them has been Smyrna. So for you to state they are weak is either lack of knowledge a grudge or just plain stupidity :flower:

I have watched them three times this year in person, and one other time on film. With the exception of one game, they are a one dimensional team. Are you telling me a team that cannot throw the ball, is a strong team. That running game can, and has been shut down. Their QB had one good throwing game...he threw for over half the yards he has had all year. That won't happen every game...

No grudge towards Riverdale..just think they are weak team.

BTW: you bring up Oakland, where are they now? Were they suppossed to help your case? They are weak also. Just ask Franklin.

  19. Your high, Franklin will score more than 14... The Blackman corners will get burned more than twice

After watching Franklin's practice today, I don't see the Blackman corners getting burned. Franklin's wideouts are slow, their routes are not precise, and the QB has a very slow release. I will also have to say that Franklin's QB will have a very hard time throwing the ball to any wideout while he is lying face up on the ground. Blackman's defense is intense....Franklin better bring their "A" game on Friday night.
