Have any names surfaced as possible candidates?

The score will be a lot to a little. Fairview is very good and athletic, but it does not matter. As a matter of fact, this game may be the game that TSSAA will finally look to and realize that a total split may have to happen. Take CPA away and the yellow jackets have a legit shot to play for the division 1 (public school) championship. I say this not having seen CPA play in person, but my Indians have played Fairview and they are good. Just will not be enough. Good luck to both teams and may it be injury free.

Thoughts? Our guys are coming off our first win than spans the part of 3 seasons. I anticipate a good game.

The "real" Creek Wood team was on the sidelines last Friday night against Cheatham Co. Starting RB who had 146 rushing yards against Dickson Co. did not even dress against Cheatham. Back up RB didnt dress, #1 CB and WR didnt dress, starting tackle didnt dress. Starting QB got dinged up in the 3rd and had to come back in to play WR because CW's #2 CB and WR got hurt as well. Then 3rd string and 4th string RB who had to start because of injuries had to leave the game due to injuries. CW's #1 RB and #1 WR for friday nights game vs. Cheatham were Sophmores way down the depth chart. Other than that, yes the real CW team played cheatham lol.
Also heard their top 3 WR were out vs Cheatham. They also play DB I assume. At least they did last season looking at film. Sounds like they were short handed for sure. We have experienced that as well at Central. Hope everyone gets healthy for the remainder of the season.

My Indians are traveling to Houston County to compete in their 7 on 7 and lineman challenge on Monday. What other schools are participating?

Any information on how the 7 on 7 went at Dickson today? How did Clarksville look?

The Cubs had a special group in '12. We got to witness them up close when our Indians made the trip to CHeatham. I don't care who the coach is, they will be hard pressed to match those numbers again in any year. We will not get to see up close this season since they were moved to another district.
Or in the case of last fall........45 (the number of points per game the Cubs averaged in 2012)

Is it true that Cheatham County shut down athletics completely several years back to save money (or perhaps because they didn't have money)?
No. The school system made threats that ended up being fictional. Montgomery County has used the same ploy before. Don't worry though, if athletics are cut, the band will still roll on.

Bobcat,
I never said one word about him not being a great guy. I am sure he is.
-
Webb....................from Cheatham County? Folks in Giles may want to do their homework on him from the CC folk.

Here comes the veer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Bob, Stewart County was already running the veer.

I keep thinking one day districts are going to have to realize how important a positive athletic program is to a school but then I see who gets moved in to powers of position and realize that may be a pipe dream. Unfortunately it seems to be a trend that athletics keep getting tossed to the side.
Is the OC at CC interested in the HC job or is he going with Finley?
I would not have ever guessed in a million years that a school system or administration would ever be as bad as what we have here in Clarksville/Montgomery County, but it appears Cheatham has trumped us.

Dover pays more for a head coach. Not much more but more than he was making. His name has came up on message boards for years as having applied or interviewed for positions. Will his brother be coming with him?
Finley has a brother who coaches? News to me.

Congrats to Coach Finley! Stewart County has gotten an awesome coach with a proven track record. The Rebel Nation has a lot to be excited about with this hire.
What direction will Cheatham County go now that Finley has left the Den?
-
How did Craig pull this off? How did Cheatham just let Finley walk away? This makes the Indians vs Stewart County rivalry much more interesting. I am still not completely sure this has happened. I will be checking the Leaf Chronicle intently the next few days.

Coach Barger, you would do well at Stewart County. Same type kids as Cannon County & Sequatchie County.

There is one coming I'm pretty sure. Just keep a look out. Should be announced soon
TT?

I am assuming he is staying. I had a little "birdie" tell me he and his whole staff were at the University of Ensworth last night listening to Paul Wade explain how they run the outside zone. I think Giles is playing Ensworth this coming season. That would tell me he was there to figure out how to stop Ensworth, otherwise he would not drive that far if he were not going to be at Giles. I may be wrong.

Michael Jackson-Cheatham County Central High school?

Spring Hill, Macon, Humboldt, and South Fulton were also open but filled. No word on Parsons-Riverside as of yet!
Where is Goff going?

As a matter of fact, she is a lot better looking than
The guy wearing the "Gone Squatchin" T shirt.

Look for the Indians of MCHS to make some noise. We have just about everybody back. Also, our neighbors from Creek Wood have most everyone back from what I can tell. This is a tough district. With quality teams year in and year out and others getting better. Should be a fun '14.
