  1. Look for the Indians of MCHS to make some noise. We have just about everybody back. Also, our neighbors from Creek Wood have most everyone back from what I can tell. This is a tough district. With quality teams year in and year out and others getting better. Should be a fun '14.

  2. The score will be a lot to a little. Fairview is very good and athletic, but it does not matter. As a matter of fact, this game may be the game that TSSAA will finally look to and realize that a total split may have to happen. Take CPA away and the yellow jackets have a legit shot to play for the division 1 (public school) championship. I say this not having seen CPA play in person, but my Indians have played Fairview and they are good. Just will not be enough. Good luck to both teams and may it be injury free.

  3. The "real" Creek Wood team was on the sidelines last Friday night against Cheatham Co. Starting RB who had 146 rushing yards against Dickson Co. did not even dress against Cheatham. Back up RB didnt dress, #1 CB and WR didnt dress, starting tackle didnt dress. Starting QB got dinged up in the 3rd and had to come back in to play WR because CW's #2 CB and WR got hurt as well. Then 3rd string and 4th string RB who had to start because of injuries had to leave the game due to injuries. CW's #1 RB and #1 WR for friday nights game vs. Cheatham were Sophmores way down the depth chart. Other than that, yes the real CW team played cheatham lol.

Also heard their top 3 WR were out vs Cheatham. They also play DB I assume. At least they did last season looking at film. Sounds like they were short handed for sure. We have experienced that as well at Central. Hope everyone gets healthy for the remainder of the season.

  4. The Cubs had a special group in '12. We got to witness them up close when our Indians made the trip to CHeatham. I don't care who the coach is, they will be hard pressed to match those numbers again in any year. We will not get to see up close this season since they were moved to another district.

Or in the case of last fall........45 (the number of points per game the Cubs averaged in 2012)

  5. I keep thinking one day districts are going to have to realize how important a positive athletic program is to a school but then I see who gets moved in to powers of position and realize that may be a pipe dream. Unfortunately it seems to be a trend that athletics keep getting tossed to the side.

Is the OC at CC interested in the HC job or is he going with Finley?

I would not have ever guessed in a million years that a school system or administration would ever be as bad as what we have here in Clarksville/Montgomery County, but it appears Cheatham has trumped us.

  6. I am assuming he is staying. I had a little "birdie" tell me he and his whole staff were at the University of Ensworth last night listening to Paul Wade explain how they run the outside zone. I think Giles is playing Ensworth this coming season. That would tell me he was there to figure out how to stop Ensworth, otherwise he would not drive that far if he were not going to be at Giles. I may be wrong.
