  1. Personally if you were taking the best teams from any of those states to play Maryville I would have to think those teams would be much better because of the quality of athletes in those areas. Look where UT focuses at and always has because of this. Some of those teams in Florida and Georgia have a couple of D-1 prospects every single year and Maryville may only turn out one every three or four years. I also personally think there are at least ten schools in the State of Tennessee that could beat Maryville anytime they wanted if they had a coach anywhere close to what we have and thank goodness they don't. Maryville is gifted with a lot of good high school quality players that are very smart and the team has so many of these type kids that the competition inside makes them better. A good friend made a good statement last week which is very true. He said when it comes to playing a big game with better athletes that GQ comes to play chess while the other coach comes to play checkers. That's why we pull off big wins against Blackman and Oakland which have much more better athletes across the board. In states like Florida and Georgia the coaching is much better because it's all about winning or your gone. Case in point was a very good local coach that went to Georgia and didn't last very long.

Barn I believe your getting d-1 guys and sec guys confused. Maryville had at least 3 or 4 guys sign d-1 last year didn't they?
  2. So both the WB and murvil coaches are on coacht. Guess I'll have to let the love flow. It won't be hard because those are the two best coaching staffs in the state-including butch' staff....wait, butch ain't on here is he?

Butch post under the name of fry daddy. Pearl posted under the name of grill master.
  3. For 3 weeks I drove 3 hours for practice and stayed in hotel rooms away from my family so I can coach young men and convince them they are not losers but special. I dedicated myself to them and I get a stupid comment by you as to I shouldn't be there. What have you done for these men except ridicule their #1 fan and then insult me. I gave way beyond a normal asst. and cared about these young man. So yes one to many. I could care less about what you or Johnny or anyone in that matter. What William Blount needs is one less negative opinionated couch coach who complains and never does anything positive but point judgemental fingers at people for standing up for a friend and program.

Treyrae let me give out a couple of imo that might help you. I went to school with Johnny at WB and he is just a traitor like myself so don't pay any attention to him. There are plenty of other coaches that post directly or indirectly ( including murvel) on the t so don't pay any attention to that crap. My advice is to set up a meeting with stars and tell him you will provide food for mama stars for a year. That's what I did and he called off the mafia. You will have to take out a second mortgage but at least you will be safe. I'm also on the t as wb85 and proud member of the gov club. You keep being honest and taking care of your friends. I love it. Need anything just tell jake to get a hold of me. Remember in Blount County all that matters is winning in football. Do that and you can get away with anything. Also don't worry about Rebelwoman. I'll take care of her. I'll invite her down to the cement pond and cool her down.
  4. OR2 you may not realize this, but JCHS is a sleeping giant. Its the only high school in the county, some decent-to-good athelets, large student body, decent facilities, and a community dying for a winner. A good coach would have them consistently battling for 2nd place in the new region, and even scare mairvul some years. A GQ type coach could build a team that competes for state every year. If someone comes in and keeps the politics out then watch out

gq can handle the politics pretty well. He doesn't even need the good atheletes. Look what he has done at Maryville with a bunch of below average fellers. I confident he would continue his run of state championships.
  5. Sully is an excellent baseball coach but he really doesn't like players playing other sports. I wouldn't say he works well with other coaches. It was a point of contention with some of the other coaches at Catholic.

That is good news. Say whatever in the interview, get the job, then run it the way you see fit.
  6. Well it looks like this baseball search is starting to hurt football. The football coach has had to go over seas to look for a baseball guy missing football workouts this week. I thought there was separation of church and state?

  7. One of my friends was the ref that was under that goal post and he told me in his own words that no disrespect to anyone that said they were standing there behind the goal post that there is a fence behind the goal post that he estimates between 85 and 95 feet away where the closest person could have been that claims they were standing there. He told me from that distance someone could have thought it was good but him and his other crew partner had the best seat in the house right under it and was clearly no good. He did say not only that but a big riding lawn mower was also behind the goal post parked on a sand pit that would have been another distraction for those that claim to have seen this. He also ask me how many times have I been to a game and thought the field goal or extra point was good from where I was viewing it and the call was different. That is why the person that has to make the decision is standing right under it and not in the press box or behind the fence thirty yards away.

I didn't know there was anyone still defending that blown call. Guess the booster club money is still flowing to that ref.

why some coaches have reamed players relentlessly, why some players have routinely been allowed to miss workouts and practices without repercussions, why some kids throw helmets on the sideline, why some kids walk the halls who should be playing, why some kids transfer to other schools to play football, why...why...why.

Yeah! That's what I'm talking bout. Glad someone is stepping up and putting this out there. ......oops I'm on the wrong thread

  9. I guess there is a lesson in all of this... Don't tell people who you are on coacht.... So if you have some inside info you can share it without being suspected. If I knew who this mystery guy was I would have already spilled the beans. But none of y'all can do that because your cover is blown. I'd rather people say nothing than drop vague hints and say you know something but won't tell what that something is.

91 rw 87 is holdin out on u. She admitted to me meeting and talking to the govclub president recently and rumor has it even contributed a little to the govclub fund. U know if she knows then stars knows so they both holdin out. Just ain't right them murvel people not telling u lol.
  10. Maryville lost a lot of big time contributors from the O line and D line....only returning starter is #72 at guard. Heart of D line was #78 Koons (if he doesn't play with torn ACL during state title game, Maryville would have lost)....#79 Dylan Jackson gone to Stanford. The Maryville team will be well coached but will not have the same caliber of athletes in the trenches. If Fulton has a DL that is fast and athletic could give Maryville O Line a long game. Hope to see a good game that week (not sure WB will be much better than this past season LOL)

Good luck to the Falcons returning for another title in 2015

Dead on IMO about Koons. Hard to replace him. Is that big running back gone from Fulton next year? Man I'd hate to try to tackle him.
  11. Spring practice won't start Monday. GQ wanted to push it back so the basketball players and wrestlers can be there.

Couldn't agree more 87. May will be perfect time with baseball over the only conflict will be maybe track?? Not sure when they finish up.

So, back to the original question of this thread, Are Farragut & HVA possibly the two best teams in TN this year? It seems there is an unusual amount of very high level talent in TN this year. I would say yes to Farragut and I don't know about who is next. HV will be very good but how about CAK and Catholic ?? How much did they lose from last year?
