I have not replied to any of these posts for 2 or 3 years.  What I can't comprehend is why pizza (sorry, spell correct won't let type his proper handle) doesn't root for his own team and continues to talk about others.  This is high school football.  Kids having fun and parents and fans rooting them on.  Friday night lights in the home towns.  His posts are not going to influence anyone.  He should talk about Page and , evidently he also claims Richland.

State title games on channels 8 and 22 this year. Starting at 12 on Dec 3rd.

Ok... I've seen both teams play. I think JB will be surprised at PC's quickness. They're not just quick, they play quick. I think JB will have a tougher time blocking the PC defense than they anticipate. PC knows how to get off blocks and get in position to stop the ball. However, being in position to make the play and actually making the play are two different things. The backs from JB run really hard and break tackles. WC was in position several times to make big stops, but the JB running backs (primarily #1) broke tackles and drug guys with him to move the chains and keep drives alive in the 2nd half. The QB seemed pretty accurate too. The screen pass to #34 looked like something the Patriots or Eagles would run. It was set up better than any screen I've seen in H.S. football... #34 put a move on the guy he had to beat and darted to the endzone. #40 also showed that he is capable of making a big catch. But the key will be whether or not PC can stop and hold on to the studs running the ball.

 

PC is pretty balanced offensively and has several guys (not just Tucker & Mercer) capable of making big plays. Sure it took 3 OT's for them to beat WC, but WC played a better game against PC than they did against JB. T. Rice had what might have been his worst game all year against JB. I also feel like the play-calling for WC could have been better. Not to mention the turnovers and penalties. But then again, JB recovered the fumble and made those interceptions and made fewer mistakes than WC, so I give them credit. PC-JB should be a great game. PC's coaching staff has been impressive all year. I think they will continue to mix the run and pass and keep JB off balance. We all know that turnovers and penalties decide games, but if both teams play well I see PC winning. They just need to bring it all night defensively, and put together some long drives offensively because I can't see JB giving up many big plays.

Always funny when people try to bring up what they are totally ignorant about. Weakness of schedule? Last I looked JB had the weaker of the two schedules.

Actually, if he thinks they will just line up and run strait at PC all night, he doesnt know his football as well as he may think.....

The best way to beat the spread is to keep it out of their hands. You can't score if you don't have the ball. JB coach is smart enough to know that the longer they keep the ball away for Tucker and friends the better. PC can score quick and often from any where on the field. JB will try to mix it up and do the 5 and dime to keep the O off the field.

I have seen both Perry Co and Jo Byrns play this season and both are outstanding football teams. I think the difference in this game will be Pc's speed. JB runs the ball we all know that and they run it well. Its pretty much straight forward I form or Power I all night not a lot of misdirection or disguising anything. Pc's offense is all about running and gunning with everything surrounding Mr Football candidate Jacob Tucker. Pc is the complete package despite all the talk being about the two studs Mercer and Tucker they are about five deep at Wr, have a solid O line all the way across, and the FB is small but is critical to this offense. Jb is big and powerful using fundamentals and old school technique to power their way into the semi finals. They have a couple Rb's who will carry the load all night (can't remember their #'s) and from what i've saw they are very solid up front on both sides of the ball. This isn't the same JB team from last year imo by any means. The difference will be Pc's defense, they are fast and will be quick to fill the hole friday night. The only time Pc has been hurt by the run this year was by C'wood and most of that damage was done in the 1st half then Pc figured out the misdirection stuff and shut them down in the 2nd half. JB is straight forward out of the I and Power I Pc will be quick on the ball and they love contact. It will be a good game but speed will win it for PC.

Sounds like you know your football. It will be a case of the spread vs the dread. Lets line it up and go. Its too late for talk. It's all about the heart and desire now.

Smack talk never won a game. You have no idea wether we have what it takes. Maybe you should watch their dedication. Try 11 camps for one player this year alone. Study your facts. Football is played on the field and not by smack.

Just keep in mind Jo Byrns will NOT lay down for anyone.....PC will have to take it!

Love good football. Jo Burns has tradition and a winning program. PC has built a good program and the boys are good sportsman. They help the other team up and pat them on the back. Looking forward to a well played game and hope the winner wins the state championship.

The refs din't defeat WC....the coaching staff did that job and it clearly over powered a good group of boys minds. "Lead by example"......that was a fine example of poor sportsmanship from WC staff, and a really BAD place to try and break out with attitudes.

We can always second guess what causes defeats, but 100 yards in penalty speak for themselves. I always like the players to decide the outcome.

Trucks, tailgates, cold weather, fans, cheers. That's football at its finest. Seems to be a great game and great atmosphere. Lot's of noise from PC and JB will fall. We just have to limit mistakes.
