Sorry but your source is wrong, I know for a fact that Sanders walked in and had his "great system of offense" in hand, but my opinion is that him and Gideon have something more in common, such as reasons to hire someone who has a worse record than those fired...oh well, it's Portland Football so who cares, cause I know they will not win more than two games a season, and you can quote me on that. And also, for those that do not know him, he is so lazy is would not get out of a chair if the building was on fire....great guy for Portland, congrats on a great hire...

Seriously I would love to know your source. Mine is pretty good as well. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Lazy? I am sorry man, but I seriously doubt you know anything about me. If raising three kids, teaching, coaching, coaching my children??™s youth teams, teaching children??™s and adult bible school classes, working on masters degree, being a father and husband, etc... qualifies as being lazy then you are correct! I worked full time while on a full football scholarship at MTSU and graduated in 4 years.

Look under my head coaching record and please read me the statistics. I believe it says 0-0. I do not carry the record of the head coach. I am also not bringing the Tony Franklin system with me to Portland as stated in the previous post. However, your source may be right. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> I am just guessing at this. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> If you would like any more info on Coach Sanders please provide me with your e-mail address and I will give you his phone number. That is of course if your source cannot get you any more info. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

  2. i understand that coach sanders went to his interview carrying the binders to install the tony franklin spread offense that worked so well at lavergne and auburn this year /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> .

i don't understand the concept of installing an offense before you see your talent. if the talent dictates to you to run spread, run spread, if you the talent dictates to you to run wing-t, run wing-t, etc. an example of this thinking, if you recall, is bill curry at uk having tim couch run i-formation triple option his freshman year.

Sorry to hear that your source is wrong. The Tony Franklin system will not be installed at PHS, nor was it discussed in the interview or in a binder. LaVergne ran the T.F. system through the head coach??™s request.

  3. I just want to know if all the holes in the field have ever been filled? There were some that could swallow a Volkswagon!

Rutherford County should be ashamed the way they have NOT funded LaVergne the way they have other schools.

Is the visitor seating still little more than for the visiting band?

While LaVergne is rebuilding this year, I 'think' it may be the year they FINALLY take Smyrna! Yes I know they are playing Oakland this week and it will probably be a good game. 'If' Precious played like he did against R'dale he could have a LARGE night. Precious concentrate of hitting the line strong and let that be your 'flexing'.

LaVergne better worry about BOTH backs though because as a team they are VERY strong. Will be good practice for stuffing Smyrna later on.

La Vergne's field is in great condition /excl.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":excl:" border="0" alt="excl.gif" /> They do a great job on it considering every week there is a middle school game, freshman or jv football and soccer games played on it.

Yes you are right La Vergne does not get handouts like some of the other schools in the county.

Smyrna's stadium is the same size by the way.

  4. There was actually one unsportsmanlike against LaVergne and also a running into the kicker that should have been roughing the kicker. I'm not trying to prove any point "buddy". Maybe I was wrong. Maybe there was less going on out there than what I saw. I'm sorry for making observations. Now we'll drop the subject on the LaVergne players being classy or unclassy because all the parents that I sat with sided with me...so it's a split decision I guess. But that was really just like /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> when you said "What point are you trying to prove buddy?"...Um..well I guess I said it straight up that I thought LaVergne was unclassy. Can you not read?

No I can't. Thanks for the help.

  5. What I'm calling classless is the countless hits Lavergne put on Blackman after the whistle was blown, particularly on Blackman's first kickoff return on the sideline and whatever Grooms did to LJ Joyce as well. Number 1 for Blackman did not taunt LaVergne publicly, he was always trying to get the sideline and fans fired up. But I love when a Lavergne guy makes a tackle on the Blackman sideline and holds up his LaVergne jersey like he's something while he yells at Blackman players on Blackman's own sideline.

So a couple of your fans did not see this, even the father who was working the chain crew had nice things to say about the players. What point are your trying to prove buddy???

  6. Two thoughts about this game

1: Blackman needs to pass the ball more. Crocker has got an arm.

2: LaVergne unfortunately is a very unclassy team.

Can you please give example of what you are referring to? "unclassy team" Was this before or after several La Vergne football players pushed out a couple of cars (immediately following the game) in the grass because someone had run over a water line and they were stuck?

  7. I got to know Kris when we had classes together. We are both coaches and he is a class act guy. Decisions can be tough and when certain events hit you right in the face they can be tougher. You know high school coaching isn’t everything. Coaches have families and for most of us they come before any x and o. Support and commend a guy who made a decision, but decided it wasn’t the best for him and his family. You can look at it from every angle, but so what!!! He committed there, came back, etc… So what!!! You want to talk about professionalism and the coaching business!!! Hello, this isn’t college and pros!!! You want to talk about what this teaches the kids!!! I tell you what it teaches!!! It teaches them that decisions are tough at every age level. It teaches them that we are human, and sometimes we have to say I am sorry. Sometimes we make wrong choices and sometimes we make good ones. However, in the end we have to put ourselves to the side and make the decision for the greatest good. We get paid very little money to mold young men into well disciplined citizens, and we do it because we love it. What really chaps me is that some people bring in a man’s wife when cutting him down. That is an outright disgrace. This or that event doesn’t matter and I don’t think anyone on this board would like their wife to be discussed.

Good luck and God Bless Coach White.

  8. Coaches

Our football program is interested in purchasing video editing equipment from Webb Electronics. We had the demo today, but would like to hear some feedback from coaches who have used this equipment. Pros, Cons, worth the time and money, etc…

    Thanks for the input.
